My package arrived the day after ordering. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the scale model. Very satisfied.
I contacted IXO back in May asking how long does it take to build one of their 1/8 cars.
One WEEK later they replied with an answer "it depends"! I replied immediately with how many hours or days? 5 days later they replied with some people been doing it 2 years and some 24 hours....
I gave up at this point and I got IXO full kit from somewhere else, but wanted to get IXO display case.
Ordered display case from them, paid the postage and it said 2-3 days delivery. 2 days later parcel was stuck at UK Customs with message wrong/incomplete address. I contacted IXO immediately regarding this issue, I even contacted customs because I haven't heard anything from IXO, but customs said only seller can do anything.
7 days has passed and I haven't heard anything from IXO so I raised the dispute on paypal.
On day 8 parcel was on the way back to the IXO...
Same day IXO contacted me that I wrote wrong address!
I, who have been writing same address for 15 years and never had any kind of issue suddenly wrote my wrong address. Yeah right!
I asked them why they didn't contact customs to give them correct address which I wrote in email as well and why they didn't respond to me for 8 days??
7 days later they responded with it was my mistake no theirs but as a gesture of goodwill they are sending replacement to me right away to the correct address which I wrote in the email.
I replied immediately where is the tracking!?
Once again 5 days later they gave me tracking number, no Hi sir, no regards nothing...
Upon checking tracking number, they lied that they are sending replacement right away when actually in reality they sent it 7 days after it was supposed to be sent!
2 days later I checked tracking and noticed that parcel is stuck at customs with exact same issue - wrong address!!!
At this point I could not believe that they sent parcel to the wrong address for second time and for the second time they blamed me!!
Also this was last day for them to respond to the paypal dispute so of course they responded in French with "we demand paypal to go in our favour, because we did our best to help this customer who wrote his address wrong and we already sent the replacement!
So first of it was incredibly rude and discourteous mainly because they speak English but they wrote everything in French!
I contacted paypal on this matter and paypal clearly saw the issue and automatically awarded me full refund.
I never heard from IXO again!!!
I would strongly recommend against buying from them, because they respond once a week, write wrong address down and when issue arises they refuse to take any responsibility and refuse to refund!
Over the past 2 years, I have been building the 1/8th scale diecast partwork model of the Porsche 917KH from the 1971 film Le Mans. I now have a complete model, and over the entire 24 month experience, I have been VERY impressed with the service and support.
Their free tracked rapid delivery to the UK, and an affordable build have greatly enhanced my enjoyment of this highly detailed top quality model. I would have no hesitation whatsoever, to recommend them, or use them again in the future!
Unfortunatly Subscriptions for these kind of builds never work. Here again a new example it doesn't work.
I started the Build of the Porsche 917. But pack 7 got a few months delay. Ok can happen no issue. We will wait. But the problem is that their system can't handle the delays. In the meantime each month they take your money for the next pack but in your account no information about the payments and no orders for the packs you are waiting for. The information to validate payments is non existent for paid but delayed items.
Because now I already had 2 open payments and no products for Pack 7 and 8 I was currious how they would handle this. So I contacted IXO Collections, but they say the system cannot handle the delays and will refund payment of Pack 8 and that its a good thing that I put my Paypal payments on hold. Which I did but then in their backend my complete subscription is now gone. Also still no evidence or order I will even receive pack 7.
So in the end I now probably need to manually check the site to see if they have stock to order the next packs etc. But hope that I will get a complete model in the end of all packs is getting slimmer and slimmer. The change that I will miss a pack because not available anymore or what ever reason is getting bigger and bigger this way. With already almost 7 packs in it's about €300 down the drain.
Not really a service to recomment using when you want to build a model and finish with a complete model. Better to wait and hope they have the complete model in stock and buy that.
Customer service is resonable but currently answers can take a while. Of course they can not help the delays, but that could atleast have a system that can handle it and correctly register what you paid for and which packs are still in the pipeline to recieve.
