Information provided by various external sources

We are a family-owned small business, operating within the United States, with a passion for Damascus steel. My Father made his living as a self-employed, fine woodworker. He instilled a belief in me at an early age, that if you work hard enough, you can have a successful career doing what you love. That belief is what Jackson Blades was founded on. In a society accustomed to mass-produced, low quality merchandise, the mark of the artisan is rarely seen. Jackson Blades seeks to deliver beautiful, high quality, hand-crafted Damascus steel blades at affordable prices. Thank you for stopping by. If you have any questions, we encourage you to email us at info@jacksonblades.com.

Words cannot describe my disappointment…

Words cannot describe my disappointment with this knife (Kristina). At the same price (or more) as a high quality Case knife, I had hoped for something decent at least. What showed up was a glorified chunk of tool steel.

The Damascus was crude, and the grind on the knife was atrocious. I've seen better edge grinds on lawnmower blades. There was absolutely no taper on the blade from bolster to tip, resulting in a knife that looked a felt like a slab of unrefined steel.

What might generously be described as an "edge" was as blunt as a butterknife. I could press my thumb into the edge with barely an indentation. When I went to try to put an edge on the knife myself, the material ground away like butter on the front inch of the blade, indicating that the steel WASN'T EVEN TEMPERED CORRECTLY throughout it's length! Without a temper, it is not a functional knife.

As the son of a cabinet maker myself (if the story on their "about us" page is even true) I find this kind of shoddy work disgraceful, particularly from a company touting the title of "artisan."

Beautiful blade but had burrs!

Beautiful blade, nice sheath. The blade was sharp but had a couple inches of sharpening burrs on it. I have stropped it a lot and got most of it out; never had to do this on any new knife. PJC

Outstanding

It was a great buying experience from beginning to end. The folks were very helpful in answering my questions. They kept me informed of the progress from order to delivery and followed up after delivery to make sure everything was good to go. The quality of the knife and sheath were everything I expected and then some.

I will definitely buy from Jackson Blades again.

the website implies

the website implies, but admittedly does not claim that this knife is made In USA. I read the reviews and several said this was American made so I figured that the knife or at least something that came with it said made in USA. that is not the case. there is nothing by way of markings or otherwise which gives any indication of where it was made. I emailed them asking where it was made, but no response yet. the knife is not sharp. I have never before purchased any knife for over $50.00 that did not start out reasonably sharp.

Blade is of excellent quality.

Blade is of excellent quality.
Easy opener sticks up too far and makes inserting and removing the knife from the sheath very difficult.
Not sure easy opener is necessary in the first place.

The blade is beautiful and exactly as advertised. Given the apparent quality, balance, speed of arrival and condition of the knife all for the price I paid I am fully satisfied.

Birthday Gift

Ordered the Constance as a birthday present for my husband. It is a heavy, well made and absolutely gorgeous blade. I’m very pleased and I’m positive he’ll love it.

Ok I suppose.

Knife was cheap and shipped fast, some minor cosmetic blemishes that do not bother me but one of the pins had rotated either during instillation or after and its sharp edges will cut the hand the blade is ok on sharpness where it was actually sharpened, about an inch at the tip however is completely dull, heck its not even dull its still flat at the tip. to be expected I suppose from a $80 copy of a $200 knife.
