From the very beginning of dealing with my mother in law’s estate, they made what could have been an incredibly stressful and overwhelming process so much easier for us.
Clare dealt with the estate and was absolutely exceptional throughout. She seemed to take care of everything. From finding share certificates, dealing with the sale of the house, removal companies and checking on the property, to handling the council, insurance, estate agents, buyers’ enquiries, the bank and DWP, right through to completion of the house sale.
More importantly, she was there whenever I needed her. She talked me through what I needed to do, explained what was happening and took so much of the pressure and responsibility off my shoulders. I was kept fully informed at every stage, from beginning to end, and I never felt that I was being left to chase for answers or wonder what was happening.
Probate and dealing with an estate after losing someone can feel incredibly daunting, but nothing was ever made unnecessarily complicated. There was no baffling us with legal terminology. Everything was explained clearly and patiently, and there was always someone available when I had a question or needed reassurance.
Clare and Elaine made us feel more like family than clients. Whenever I walked into the office or phoned for an update, I felt as though I was speaking to old friends. That kindness and personal touch meant more than I can really put into words, particularly at such a difficult time.
James initially went through the will with us and, once the estate was completed and the client account closed, we returned to him to have our own wills and Powers of Attorney prepared. He was exceptionally friendly and approachable and, rather than simply telling us what we needed, took the time to properly understand our circumstances before advising us on the right course of action.
The level of care, professionalism and personal service we have received from James, Clare and Elaine has been outstanding. They took the stress and hassle out of a situation that could so easily have become overwhelming, while making sure we always knew exactly what was happening.
There are some businesses you use because you need their services, and there are others that you come away from feeling genuinely grateful that you found them. James & Co is very much the latter.
