Our Midnight inTokyo Advent calendar…
Our Midnight inTokyo Advent calendar was a HIT - thank you!!
Missing order
Missing order, poor customer service.
Ordered an advent calendar from JapanHaul for my daughter this year. Received no shipping updates, including the supposed delivery 7 weeks later. Shipper said package was delivered to my home on day I was home all day. It was not. Once I contacted JapanHaul, it took nearly a month of review before I was told I would receive a $10 credit for my trouble - no replacement, insurance or refund of the $180.00 purchase. I live in dead end street and have never had package issues in the past. I cannot speak to the reputation of the carrier that was used but received no support from JapanHaul. Though it may not have been their fault - be aware if you order that your stuff may not arrive and you will be completely out the money.

Better shopping options out there
I've placed quite a few orders with Japan Haul within the past 7 or so years and used to subscribe to two of their affiliated monthly subscription boxes. Initially they were Fantastic. Product were fun & great & shipping was fast, secure & reliable. Sadly there's been a very noticeable, very negative downgrade over the past few years and more often than not there are problems, typically with shipping & customer service. Products are still great & of good quality but there are frequent issues with getting them. Their customer service is near non-existent & give generalized, generic, likely AI generated responses that are largely unhelpful. They once left $100 worth of goods out of my shipment & we basically like "ops sorry, nothing we can do", refusing to either issue a refund or ship the missing items as they didn't want to be liable for the additional shipping costs. After Days of back and forth we finally settled at store credit slightly higher ($115 instead of $100) than the missing items. It cost me more than the extra $15 to reorder & have the items shipped but it was better than nothing. I intended that to be the last order I placed with them, I don't know why I decided to try again. This time they used the tactic of marking items as shipped & "on the way" by simply generating a shipping label but have yet to actually get them to the courier. It's been 16 days since being marked as "shipped" with no movement. In the past things have gone much better when DHL shipping is available, at a significantly higher price point but it's definitely worth it. This time DHL wasn't even listed as an option and due to the tariff nonsense, shipping was still $87. Another issue Ive encountered with their non-DHL shipping is that with the extended ship times there is almost always damage to packages and products. Knowing their customer service is terrible Ive never bothered following up about any of it but Ive often received broken & frequently melted items. A subscription box was also once lost and they refused to do anything unless it was returned to them (it wasn't, I payed for Nothing that month & immediately cancelled both of my subscriptions with them)
Overall I would absolutely not recommend this company unless you're ok with longer than stated ship times, potentially damaged or lost items & poor customer service when issues do arise. There are much better & more reliable options for Japanese goods.

Advent calendar
I ordered the advent calendar in October and due to customs, didn’t arrive until the end of November but it was worth the wait! I send my kids a usual advent calendar every year and my daughter was very very impressed! Thank you for making me look good!
advent calendar
Finally received my advent calendar. It took longer than expected but customer service was able to provide updated shipping details and assist in reassuring that the product would arrive. Outside packaging is beautiful and my wife and I are excited to open them each day and see what’s inside!
Very slow
I received my order 31 days after placing it. The delivery was supposed to take 15 business days. When I contacted customer service, they told me it was “out of their hands”. This was a birthday present but it arrived too late. JapanHaul gave me no US tracking and didn’t offer any compensation. I would not recommend!

Delicious
Delicious, authentic, japanese items if you are willing to pay the price. Shipping was fairly fast, and items met all.my expectations. I did have a little trouble with knowing my items were shipped, but customer service was quick to resolve it. Overall, I recommend this website for delicious items hehe.
Wonderful experience
Ease of ordering. Response to an inquiry was excellent; wonderful communication and customer service.
Great value
Great value, great tasting snacks, I've really enjoyed everything I've received from them!
We love receiving our Sakuraco boxes
We have had a Sakuraco subscription box for about 3 years. Occasionally I purchase extra/other things thru JapanHaul. The first time I ordered, I was ordered with the standard shipping and it took almost 3 weeks to arrive. Afterward, I paid for expedited ($50) to arrive in 5-7 days since I needed to arrive in time. Also, the quality and cultural exploration side is what makes it so unique. The Sakuraco boxes and information booklets are so well curated they're almost like a little vacation.
Everything arrived in good condition…
Everything arrived in good condition and my friend liked the sakura items that I have sent him as gift.
JAPANHAUL IS A SCAM!
Japanhaul, Sakuraco, Tokyotreat.com, yumetwins, nomakenolife and Japanhaul.com are all the same company which operates a Autorenew scam.
Google it or look at reddit before subscribing!
Theywill auto-renew your subscription without any warning or message, or even sending you a email or receipt about the renew. You will simply just notice the renew as a credit card bill or a notice from PayPal.
They state in their FAQ that:
"It looks like your subscription is still active, and so you were charged for a renewal. If you don't wish to remain subscribed, you can cancel your subscription at anytime from your My Account page - or click more assistance to get help from our support team!"
There is however now way to cancel the subscription, the information they list on their FAQ is simply false.
The only way to get out is to cancell your credit card. :(

I've always received packages from them on time and wrapped well. Love the sales they do too.
Grateful for JapanHaul!
Grateful for this service! I visited Japan last year and got hooked on seasonal sweets. But they are so difficult to find in the U.S. One day, I was just aimlessly scrolling online for them when I ran into JapanHaul and almost cried tears of joy! Maybe I went a bit overboard with how many I ordered, but it was so worth it! They arrived intact and ready to eat for me (and sometimes I share with my husband ... sometimes)!
