Ordered the passes from an Australian agent before we left home and they arrived in a few days, process for exchanging the vouchers for passes at JR stations is courteous and efficient as is the process for booking seats at any JR station.
We always use the passes when we travel to Japan.

Easy Transaction
Recommended. Easy to follow instructions on how to place order for passes. Ordered at approximately 7:45am and the pass exchange vouchers were posted out the same day. Received a dispatch notification including Express Post tracking number. Received passes in two business days - in rural Victoria.

Very good value for money if you are…
Very good value for money if you are going to be doing a lot of train travel around Japan on the bullet trains. Easy to purchase the pass and to use it. Plenty of support at train stations to book seats and to get help when needed. The pass also gives you discounts on other services such as buses.

Great way to see & move around Japan. Shinkansen trains are fast and punctual. I wouldn't bother paying extra for the Green Car (first class) as standard is comfortable and their are no extra 'frills' in going "green".

Exchange orders were delivered promptly, with clear instructions on where to go to swap the exchange orders for the rail passes. The entire experience was so easy and stress-free. I would definitely get my rail passes from here again next time we go to Japan.

The pass is excellent value
The pass is excellent value, tickets and seats are easy to book as you travel. The pass enables visitors to Japan to see parts of the country we would not reach as it provides the flexibility to change plans as you travel. We have used the pass for the past 6 years and have no hesitation in recommending it to other travellers.

The JR pass was super easy to use in a country where train travel can be tricky to navigate. In most cases we just showed out pass & walked straight through. On the odd occasion when out pass didn’t cover that station we just paid a little extra at the gate on the way out. My only area of improvement would be a trip planner which shows a trip option that just uses the JR.
