I recently shopped at your Pen Centre location,. The manager was THE RUDEST AND NASTIEST sales person I have ever come across. First off, she was arrogant as hell, which is her choice, (so what she dated a doctor in the past, this has nothing to do with retrieving jeans from a pile on a shef or on a hangar). I am a Professional! Does that make her better than other people? I have gained 10 pounds because I had lung cancer surgergy recently and all of my stomache muscles were cut. Because of this I gained weight from the prednisone and other meds and cannot exercise for a while. I did not tell her this, but I did tell her that I gained weight and felt fat as I am now 3 sizes larger. I am small boned, so every 4 pounds is one size for me. I mentioned I felt fatter than I was a short time ago a coulple of times. She became nasty and told me not to say this in her store! She kept telling me ths. She became nastier and more rude. She gave me a huge pair of jeans to try on that would obviously fit an elephant. I am a size 8 now, whereas I was a size 2 to 4 before. I mentioned they were huge and she said to put a belt on them when I wear them. I tried on another pair that I chose myself that were much smaller and fit better. I said that I still felt fat. Again she told me NOT to say this in her store. Finally, when I was cashing out with my items, I noticed a sales woman at the front of the store who was obese who worked there. It was then that I realized why the manager was saying these nasty things to me. This obese woman was not even in earshot of my comments, so the manager was just being plain mean. It wasn't my fault if she heard me talk about MYSELF, or if SHE was fat. I apologized profusely before I left, but no customer should leave a store feeling terrible. By the way, the store manager could lose a few pounds herself! Good thing it is closing. I used to purchase all of my jeans there previously. Now I will stay away from any Jean Machine store, if they stay in business! I am extremely disappointed with the service of this nasty, vain, entitled woman. She is no better than anyone else! Also, the prices at this store are highly overpriced, so I see why they are closing.
I am truly so sad the stores are closing. About three years ago I decided there must be jeans that can look good on me that aren’t $300. I found myself in a Jean Machine and was so happy with the sales girl. She made it her mission to help me. Four pairs of jeans later I was very happy. I went back many times to the store at Sherway Gardens. Although there were different staff sometimes they all were amazing. The best retail staff in any store I go to. Not intimidating just helpful and gave good advice. I am kind of devastated, where will I get my jeans now? I also ordered many pairs online. Maybe you could just be an e-commerce store? I love the Just Black line.
I will now comment on the Eaton's Centre store where I have shopped for jeans and, other clothing items for close to 5 years. I have come to know several employees over those 5 years-I recall a lady named Sheda whom has sold me at least 3 maybe 4 pairs of high-priced jeans. Sheda recently sold me a pair as she told me today-fleeced lined jeans that were over 100 dollars for 70 and, a beautiful belt two weeks ago. She also sold me at jacket that regularly sold for 165 dollars for 135 including tax. I will mention that her sales skills are phenomenal and, above and, beyond the service I received elsewhere previous to her sales. I will miss her and, the staff when the store closes and, be a little sad because she sold me my 1st pair of guess jeans on my first breakthrough when I was in recovery from a drug withdrawal. I am now on supplement to Ritalin and, I am functioning better now than when I was on the wrong medication for Bipolar Disorder. I am thankful to the staff and, this will include ones that I knew from my initial first visit and, I have come to know a lot of staff at the store. I might add that Sheda, Beth, and, other staff members but in particular Sheda has been great and, like a sister I had thought or felt like I had known her my whole life.
I am not speaking for other shoppers in the mall but the store and, I mean this and, this comes straight from my heart-I will miss Jean Machine when it closes its doors on January 31st, 2019. I hope that you can give this letter to the store before it closes in January of 2019. Thanks again for all you do for me and, the support I received during my recovery. J.P. Presti.
hi. me and my girl friend went to jean machine on one mills mall on Mon Oct 1/ 2018 my girl friend she asked for help and the lady gave her a pants from the sale rack..my girlfriend like the pants and we came to cash register to pay and they said its not on sale , its a regular price its been there by mistake. we didn't get the pants and came out. 2 weeks after we went there again and i got 2 jeans and she find exact the same jean the one last time wasn't on sale. we said how come one jean it goes to the sale rack by mistake with i n2 weeks period. we asked for the manager. the manager came we explained the story, she was so rude to us and i said by low you have to give us as a sell price and she said no either take it or leave it. i asked her name she refused to give me her name and yield us you are harassing me get out of my store ...it was the hole story in only my twice shipping at jean machine ..it was an oh full experience
I tried to exchange a pair of jeans for a different size. Jeans had all the original tags still attached, in the original bag, but because I misplaced my receipt they would not exchange without the original receipt. I paid by visa all tags were in tack, they would not budge. I even contacted head office and they were even more useless. Anyhow, that will be my last purchase at with this company that is already dying.
My friend and I were recently in the Newmarket/Upper Canada Mall store and were treated as though their only job to make us happy and find the best fit for us. Olivia and the other staff member (sorry, can't remember your name)....went above and beyond in making this one of the best shopping experiences ever. It is apparent that they love the work they do and we will make that our first stop when purchasing our next pair of jeans.
These ambassadors for Jean Machine deserve a raise :-)
