The Jericho Writers team are comprehensive in their offerings and generously thoughtful in their individual support. I wanted to produce a saleable novel, and they’ve given me every tool I need to achieve that goal.

I've been a premium member for almost three years and have received helpful, detailed and relevant advice on a variety of writing issues from published authors and writing coaches. My query letters and synopses are stronger thanks to focused advice and, most importantly, my novel is ready to go in the world seeking an agent. Wish I'd found this site even sooner!

This course was included with my membership and I was able to do it at my own pace - over about six weeks. I took it while editing work I considered close to being 'ready'. The sessions involved a lot of 'showing' rather than 'telling'. Harry Bingham showed us pieces of writing over different stages, before and after applying the principles he was teaching. It helped me see more clearly how to improve my own work. I applied some of the first homework exercises to a vague idea for a novel, beginning to flesh it out for the first time. It was exciting to receive interest from fellow writers in the private forum where I opted to post my homework. Their enthusiasm for my story concept helped convince me it might be viable. I've also had useful feedback on excerpts from current works-in-progress through the forum. I've been a member for years but this was the first time I tried an interactive online course with Jericho Writers and I'm so glad I did.

I am a premium member and I had my first mentoring session today and it was great. But I want to acknowledge how easy the set up at Jericho made it for me to get access to the mentoring. Administratively it was both easy and responsive but also set up in a very good way to allow some initial confidence building that it was the right thing to do. I never felt under pressure or that I was being sold to. Then the service itself is quality.

I just joined Jericho Writers. My first impression is really good. A lot of events and platforms to learn, to ask and to share. Exactly what I was looking for.
Writing sometimes can become lonely. It feels great to belong to a community which understands.

I can thoroughly recommend the full manuscript assessment. I knew mine needed work but I'd taken it as far as I could. The feedback report was very constructive, giving me a good sense of what was working and what wasn't. It's not easy to hear criticism of your work, but it's money well spent, especially if you're not sure how to move forward. With the report, I was able to draw up and implement an editing plan, which has dramatically improved my MS.

The build your book month was a great success for myself to keep going and review the outlining of the book in my head and on paper. I could not listen live to all parts but as it is possible to revisit the webinars I'm happily catching up. I can only recommend to keep an eye on the events and take advantage of the plentiful advice.

I learnt so much, some of which I did not know I needed. I did have a job keeping up with the wealth of information and I didn’t have the time to write much but I enjoyed plotting, brilliant. I thought my plots ran smoothly and it did help to keep it on track. Lots of other information, too much to remember it all but thank you everyone who put it together xx

Can't review build your book month.
I wasn't able to use it. Came at the wrong time. I was busy launching my 3rd MG book in English and wrestling with the French translation of it for despatch to the publisher for printing.
The videos looked good. Sorry.

While I love most of Jericho's programs, this one seemed geared more towards planners than pantsers. Since I am a pantser, I found the tasks that involved plotting impossible to complete. I did gain some valuable information, but, as a whole, I didn't find it as helpful as some other programs.

Build a book month was full of useful tips and strategies. I'm looking forward to putting them into practice while I write my first draft of my first novel.

I used the Agent Submission Pack Review service and was over the moon with the report, as well as the communication afterwards. I even received a few referrals to potential agents, which was above and beyond what I expected. Highly recommend.

Jericho Writers has supported me on the journey of completing my first MG novel. It has helped me to realise my writing is important and of value. Almost giving me permission, if you like, to continue my work. The support has been excellent in every way - emails, chat and the website. I can't recommend Jericho Writers highly enough for serious writers.

Expertise of the tutors, classes and administration.

Highly recommend every writer to Jericho Writers as a member of several years. They continue to provide top-notch support to any writer. There's a wide variety of resources on the website - masterclasses, video courses, articles. And then there are the live events either online or the fantastic in-person festivals, that have widely expanded my writing craft knowledge, not to mention the Book Coach and Agent 1-to-1s. And of course I have to mention the personal support from the Writer Support Team who are always so friendly and helpful. Currently, during Build Your Book Month, I've been so impressed with the resources and the thoughtful calendar of events that have helped me so much with planning my novel.

Jericho Writers is a goldmine for novice, aspiring authors. Everything you need to learn about professional writing and the publishing world is on their website. Their crown jewel is a full, in-depth manuscript assessment. My editor / mentor, Vee Walker, produced a masterpiece, a masterclass in tutorial editorship. She read it twice, using “track check” to comment on the text, where it was good, outstanding and where it was rubbish, often suggesting better choices of phrasing, all aimed at keeping up the pace of storytelling. She had literally crawled over the entire text line by line. Vee immersed herself into the mindset of my story, in fact into me as a person. We cannot all be best sellers, but JW help to bring out the best of a person’s abilities, develop a quiet self-discovery of confidence which transfers beyond the realm of writing, into our everyday life. My highest praise to the JW team!
