Did Not Change My Oil

On Thursday July 20th, 2023 I took my car, a 2017 Ford Escape, into Jiffy Lube store 2369 located on 5444 W 38th St, Indianapolis, IN 46254, for a basic oil change. On Saturday July 22nd, 2023, my check engine light came on and my car started running funny. When I would press on the gas it would take a long time to accelerate, and then it began to smoke. I contacted a mobile mechanic, Eds Auto Mobile, 317-513-7615, who came out to look at the vehicle. The very first thing he said was that there was no oil in my car. He pulled out the dipstick and showed me that Jiffy Lube did not replace the oil and that my car had burned off the oil that was remaining in my vehicle. I contacted the corporate office and filed a claim. They gave me the case number 00368874. On Monday July 24th, 2023, I contacted the store location and spoke with the general manager, by the name of Elvis. Elvis came out to my car to inspect it and stated that my oil ring had malfunctioned and that he needed to speak with his manager Chris. I asked for Chris' number, and tried contacting him multiple. He returned one phone call, left a choppy voicemail but did advise me to take it into a licenesed 3rd party shop. On Monday July 31st, 2023, I had my car towed into Bill Estes Ford, 450 E Northfield Dr, Brownsburg, IN 46112. I was then contacted by a techncian by the name of Nick. Nick called me as soon as my car was dropped off to get all of my intake information and scheduked my service appointment for Tuesday August 1st, 2023 at 8:40 am.. By 10:00 am that morning Nick called me immediately to confirm what Eds Auto Mobile had told me, which was that there was no oil in my car. Nick advised that my engine and my turbo had been eaten through due to the lack of oil. I immediately contacted Elvis at Jiffy Lube who advised that further communcation would have to be with Chris. I tried contacting Chris multiple times, and he did not return any phone calls. On Friday Ausgust 4th, 2023, I relayed this information to Nick with Bill Estes Ford, and he advise he would also try to call Chris. When Nick spoke with Chris, Nick advised him that the damage to my car was due to the lack of oil in my vehicle, and asked him where he could send in the documentation to show proof. Chris then "blew him off," and let me know of their interation. My husband and I both tried to call Chris with no success. On August 7th, 2023 I called Chris with Jiffy Lube corporate office and was told that Jiffy Lube will not be taking on this liability because there was multiple "other" reasons as to why this could have happened. I advised Chris that although there could be other reasons, I have two mechanics saying the actual reason is because Jiffy Lube did not put oil in my car. I called Nick with Bill Estes Ford to question if there was any thing else that could have caused this issue, and Nick advised that even if there were other issues with the vehicle malfunctioning, there is nothing that would cause 6 quarts of oil to deplete in 2 days..

Requested an oil and filter change…

Requested an oil and filter change only, as this is a fleet vehicle and is being turned in shortly. They also added a cabin filter and wiper blades ignoring what I told them.

This happened to me at this same location several years back, I do not plan on returning. Whether it's my vehicle or not, listen to your customer.

***I won't be responding by email (to Jiffy Lubes canned response) as I feel it's dishonest to overcharge. Both the "top man" and the person who wrote up the order were well aware of my wishes and ignored them.

Did not honor the coupon. Be aware.

I did not get the service because they did not honor the coupon. The gimmick is in the very thing they tout, the almighty oil change. It's the simplest thing for a mechanic to do. Just unplug from the bottom, drain the oil, unscrew and replace the oil filter and add fresh oil from the top of the engine. That's it! The almighty oil change. Really simple. They charge upwards of $69+++ for this sh_T. They upsell you and add-ons and send you nonsensical coupons etc, etc. And since many of these Jiffy Lube stores are franchises and individually own. Many of them don't or won't honor the coupons as what happened to me on 2 different occasions. So I am DONE with them.

By the way, stay away from the following Jiffy Lube store, 735 W. Hallandale Bch Blvd
Hallandale, FL 33099.

Broken oil plug

Broken oil plug

I was the first customer inline Sunday at ten. I didn't get my car back until Monday evening. While removing my drain plug they sheared it off. I didn't think it was a problem, then they said whoever last changed my oil is responsible and I saw no drilled holes in the plug. I offered to pay if they put on a new oil pan and got refused because according to the manager they don't work on foreign(bmw) vehicles. I pointed out that I had no leak when I came and they were responsible for my plug. The manager refused and asked me to get it towed, at my expense to another shop. Needless to say, a couple of emails to corporate made the difference. That was my first oil change this year, I have nor had any oil leaks and a simple mistake shearing off my plug you try and blame me. I SHALL NEVER GO BACK TO JIFFY LUBE

I went to Jiffy Lube in Idabel Ok Store #4191 Invoice number 20859864 Work Order #29 and spent 68.33 at 2:53 pm on 7/5/2023 for an oil change on my 2014 Ford Explorer. I then went to a couple stores and headed home and then my "Low Oil Pressure Light" came on and I called them4:53 pm they told me to come back, so I turned around and went back. I was never told anything was wrong with my car or had any comments on the paper I got from them other than have a nice day and thank you. They checked oil level and said everything was fine and I said no its not fine cause this light is on and wasnt on until yall changed the oil. He said it wasnt his expertise and that I needed to take it to a shop and have a diagnostic check done. I said the light was not on until yall changed the oil. He said Maam its probably the sensor. So I went right next door to the James Ford place and they wouldnt touch it cause then it would make them liable and they called Jiffy Lube and told them that. So I went back over to Jiffy Lube for the third time. This time I asked them what I was suppose to do cause again they were last to touch my car and now this light is on that had never been on. Then he said you need to go to the shop and have test run on it cause your car has water in the oil. I said this should have been brought to my attention the FIRST time I came in here not the third time. So he told me there was nothing more he could do. Having water in my oil is not a good thing and it needed to be fixed and should have been brought to my attention. I will NEVER go back to any Jiffy LUBE! They are rude and expensive. If they done something they should have owned up to it and fixed it. I dont care if they broke the sensor to it they should have never let it go and kept secrets about the oil and water.

Dishonest

Twice I have been here and asked "do you vacuum interior floor of car?" and was assured that it was included in service. The first time they failed, I thought it was an oversight, the second time they failed I realised they just lie. I have photo of uncleaned floor if required

Are you kidding me

Are you kidding me! $756 for oil change!! I was completely shocked! I know it’s a diesel truck but I’ve gone to the dealer and have paid no more than $300.included fuel filters etc..I complained and he took $167 off the bill…. I still didn’t want to pay it. It dropped to a still astronomical $589 for an oil change! I just put tires on my wife’s car and it cost me $730 for 4 tires! just very very discouraged…

DANGER ! DON'T GO HERE!

Took my vehicle to the shop on County Line Road in Littleton, Colorado. STAY AWAY!! They improperly filled the oil which damaged the engine to the point where it had to be replaced. When they asked if they could look at the vehicle I told them where it was being stored, so they could look at it. Without checking in at the shop office, they snuck down to where the vehicle was being stored and messed with the vehicle before letting the shop know they were there, messed with the car, and stole material from the vehicle without my permission. They then called and offered to have it towed to their mechanics for a review (which of course only came back with a "we don't know what caused the problem but we put the right filter on it" conclusion. Nothing helpful or specific). To add insult to the injury I suffered, they refused to tow it back to my mechanic's shop when they were done with their "review". Since that day the manager at the shop will not return my calls, tell me the name of his "boss" who he says is the one who denied the claim, or give me his bosses contact information in spite of his assurance that he would do so (don't take assurances from liars and cheats, as they will continue to let you down and show themselves to be what they are). I seriously doubt he took it to someone higher in the company but just covered it up so the boss wouldn't know and he could try to look competent. If his boss did konw about all this then there is serious issues with the integrity of the whole group, but we don't know that to be fact yet (but I wouldn't rule it out) I would like to speak with someone about the poor customer service, the deceptive, deceitful, and basically crooked business practices I encountered, and the lack of decency in the way they conduct their business and treat customers. As far as I can tell they have a skewed or severely damaged moral compass from which to guide their business dealings. It's basically too late for me, but they could damage your vehicle as well, cause you to be stranded on the side of the road, or cause your vehicle to put you in a dangerous situation. Don't let that happen to you. STAY AWAY FROM THE SHOP ON COUNTY LINE ROAD IN LITTLETON COLORADO. To say they are dishonest is probably the nicest thing to say about them!

Don't come here - they go thru your car

Re: Store # 645
Two issues - 1) The contents of my glove box were in the passenger seat when I got my car (after the oil change). There is no reason to go thru my glove box to do an oil change. I didn't see anything missing but that is because I remove my valuables for this reason. Going through customers' glove boxes is highly inappropriate and the reason I will not be back, but there is more. The service is crappy.

2) I appeared to be the first customer of the day; I arrived at 735 am. They open at 730am. The staff started working on my car but after a car and van arrived 10 minutes later, they prioritized those cars and let my car sit. By 8am my hood had been closed and I saw nothing else being done on my car. 5 minutes later the car that came after me was on its way and I had to ask 3 times before they finally rang me up, finished vacuuming but didn't wash the windows and did not tell me they weren't able to wash them. 20 minutes later, they finally pulled my car out so I could leave. Good to know they don't prioritize the early birds.
UPDATE - turns out they didn't vacuum. Later that day I found dirt from a trip to get plants the week before. A few days later the manager called, apologized & offered a free oil change. Turns out he was off the day I went. I won't be going unless he is there.

Dishonest folks

Starting with the positive here: Had an oil changed at the Jiffy Lube location at 8120 Louisiana Blvd NE, Albuquerque this week. I didn't have to wait. The staff acted professionally and was friendly. The place was clean. Now for the bad: They tried to tell me I needed my tires rotated when I just had brand new tires put on (they were obviously still very new - easy to see). They told me I needed new license plate lights which I approved; however, they broke one of the light holders when installing the new lightbulbs but didn't say anything. I noticed once I got home. I had just cleaned the truck and knew this light holder wasn't broken when I went to Jiffy Lube. I called them and they never called back. Very dishonest people. Now I have to get a new lightbulb holder at my expense because of their bad workmanship.

Took my 2005 Volvo to the Jiffy Lube in…

Took my 2005 Volvo to the Jiffy Lube in Wellington, Florida for simple oil and filter change. After the service my vehicle was leaking a great amount of oil. Contacted Jiffy Lube and was told the vehicle was old and I needed a new oil pan, pan gasket, labor light engine repair and supplies for a total of $989.34.
I inquired that the vehicle did NOT leak oil until it was serviced at Jiffy Lube. I was told they had informed me that the vehicle was old and needed the new service to correct the leak.
I took it to the Volvo Dealership where I was informed that they had rammed a non fitting oil filter at Jiffy Lube causing damage to the metal grooves and damaged the threads. They had to remove and rethread it. Total cost at Volvo was $313.10.
Jiffy Lube is a total ripoff. NEVER take your vehicle there!!!

New engine ruined & they won't take responsibility

I have a fleet account & have been going to and bringing our 5+ vehicles to various Jiffy Lubes around Omaha for years. I have never encountered an issue until December.

I had the oil changed on my Jeep on October 5th, 2022 and no problems. I had synthetic oil put in so it had a 5,000 mile change time. In December I went to drive it (it was a very cold day) and it sounded funny when it was running and I thought it might have been the cold causing it. I decided not to drive it out of our driveway & parked it in the garage. At this time, I am still 1,000 miles away from my next oil change according to the Jiffy Lube sticker.

When I got up there was a big oil puddle under the Jeep. I checked the oil dipstick & it was completely dry so called a tow truck & had it towed to our mechanic. The mechanic shop was closed for the New Year so I wasn’t able to get it in to them until early Jan. to look at.

He said the oil was completely gone & the oil filter was loose. He also said since Jiffy Lube was the last one to touch it, they didn't want to touch it until JL looked at it.

I called on Jan. 11th & the manager called me back the next day. I asked him to meet me at the mechanic's shop to look at it & he agreed to meet that day. The manager checked the oil filter & agreed it was loose. He tightened it & then put oil in it & started it to make sure it wasn't something else that caused the oil to leak. When he started it there was no oil spilling out but now the engine is knocking.

When I asked the mechanic how we can fix the knocking, he said I would have to get a new engine. Keep in mind this is a new engine that only has 10,000 miles on it & had no issues prior to this, basically a brand new engine.

The manager was very prompt & friendly. He took pics of everything & forwarded them to the manager above him since he couldn't make any decisions on this. He called me back on Jan. 12th to let me know to give it 2-3 business days & someone would reach out to me.

I hadn't heard anything from Jiffy Lube and called back on January 18th to get a number for the next level of management. The local manager could not give me a direct number for someone to talk to and had to find an invoice to give me some 800 number from the back. I tried calling that number for 30 minutes and it was busy so I googled the national customer service number to call.

When I called the national number, the rep asked me if I had a case # to reference which I didn't because the local manager did not have one to provide. The local manager said he just uploads it into a system and has no point of contact he can provide to me. So we had to create a case to get a case # and the rep said she would forward it to the franchise owner, Team Car Care West, LLC. She said to give it 3 days & reach back out if no one has contacted me.

Nobody contacted me in those 3 days so I reached back out on Jan. 23rd to the national rep & they said they would send it to the franchise owner again & escalate it. I also called the local shop but the manager was not in so I had to leave a message.

I did not hear from anyone in any way from Jiffy Lube the next day so I reached out again to the national rep and they said they will escalate it with a request for an update & forward it to Team Car Care West, LLC again. I also called the local shop & spoke with the manager. He sounded surprised nobody has contacted me yet but still said he is not allowed to give out the contact info for the manager above him. He said he will call him / her & forward the message and I should be hearing back.

UPDATE: The claims guy Scott emailed on 2-16-23 that my claim is denied since I am past 3 months & 3,000 miles. Jiffy Lube sold me a more expensive synthetic oil change that is good for 5,000 miles. I am 1,000 miles under the recommended oil change & the issue happened in December (within 3 months). They are the pros that sold the 5,000 mile oil change to me but will not honor the recommended mileage interval. This is completely unacceptable and a horrible way to treat a loyal customer.
