Installing the eSIM was seamless; it worked right away as soon as I landed in Narita. Not going to lie, I enjoyed it a bit too much seeing others scrambling to connect to the Narita Airport Wi-Fi so they could show the Visit Japan Web QR code at immigration. I had a small issue when I tried to tether the data to my laptop because iOS had the option grayed out. I reached out to JJ-eSIM support, and they quickly replied with steps to follow, and I was able to tether the data right away. Data coverage was clearly not a problem, because at one point I was in a remote area of Tohoku and still had data, whereas my Japanese friend on SoftBank was struggling. I will definitely use it again on my next visit.

Ive used JJ esim on a couple of trips to Japan now and the signal has always been flawless. It's never let me down. Setup was fast and fairly straight forward. No issues and would use again.

Worked excellent even all the way out in Kinosaki, Kyoto, Osaka, Himeji, and Tokyo.

This is one of those products where the fact that you forget you're even using it is a testament to how seamlessly well it works.
Ordered the eSim at Heathrow. Received the setup instructions via email. Activated the eSim while I was waiting for my luggage to arrive at Haneda airport.
And that was it - everything just worked. And I didn't really think about it for the entirety of my Japan trip.
I had coverage even in more rural areas, and I never felt like I was disconnected.
I'd highly recommend this to anyone planning to visit Japan.

I had a terrible time on a previous trip to Japan with another eSIM so I was determined to find a better solution this time. Great Coverage across Japan. I have been to more rural Parts in Hokkaido and Kumamoto and the connection was always superb.

The eSIM was straightforward to install and easy to use. We didn't experience any connection issues while visiting Kanazawa, Takayama and Hokkaido. We'll definitely be using this one again next time.

Perfect connection during our entire trip. Even in the subway/underground stations! Easy to set up, no fuss.

There were a few teething problems getting started but the customer support team were extremely helpful and after that all was well. I had perfect coverage during my trip even in remote forests and in the mountains in Yamagata and elsewhere. I had plenty of data and found it good value. Highly recommended!

Setup was very easy and worked even though I didn't read through the instructions carefully and set it up before arriving in Japan. The SIM worked direclty upon arrival and I never had any network issues. We were only staying in bigger cities so can not confirm about network coverage in less populated areas.

Overall very simple and everything worked as planned. Thanks and will be using again next time!

My husband and I have followed “Abroad in Japan” for years. When we traveled to Tokyo, Japan, in June 2025, we remembered the Journey Japan eSIM. We used it for the two weeks and were quite impressed with it. We also stopped in at Lost for a few drinks and eats, and received a discount on our bill after showing them the eSIM. When we visit Japan again, we’ll definitely use the eSIM again.

My girlfriend and I both used the jjesim during the summer of 2025. It was very easy to purchase and set up on our iPhone 16 Pros. From the moment we landed in Tokyo we had access to 5G internet. We explored and stayed in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Nara and Himeji. It worked flawlessly throughout our trip, only time we connected to the WIFI was in our accommodation. And, we even saved some money at LOST Bar, Shibuya. Arigato gozaimasu jjesim, Chris and the whole team.
