Project Abandoned Mid-Way Due to Complete Lack of Communication
We initially hired James Lohan Planning & Design Consulting Engineers LTD for our home project, which included architectural design, obtaining planning permission, and overseeing the build phase. The first two parts of the project – the design and securing planning permission – were completed as expected.
However, when we were ready to proceed to the crucial build stage, our experience took a drastic downturn. Despite numerous attempts to get the next phase underway, we received absolutely no response from James Lohan. Over a period of five months, we sent six separate emails trying to move the project forward, none of which were acknowledged or answered.
This complete lack of communication left us completely stranded mid-project. Months of valuable time were wasted simply waiting for a reply that never came. It's difficult to comprehend how a business, especially one entrusted with something as significant as supervising a home build, can fail at such a fundamental aspect of client service – responding to emails. This level of unprofessionalism and what can only be described as juvenile business etiquette is unacceptable.
Ultimately, we had no choice but to find another company. We engaged a Dublin-based firm, and the difference was stark. They were professional, highly responsive, and a genuine pleasure to work with, addressing all our queries promptly.
I strongly advise others to avoid this company if you value communication, professionalism, and reliability.
