Consumers expressed deep frustration regarding poor customer service, long waiting times, and unreturned messages. Many felt that the institution offered little practical help with job hunting or career training. The minority of people were satisfied with their overall interactions, mentioning that certain advisors provided friendly, professional, and efficient assistance. Disgusting.

Treated like a criminal from the moment you walk in by a security guard. Demoralising experience that left me wanting to get out as soon as I’d walked in the door despite being open to what they might say to help. It is hard enough when you have been made redundant from an organisation that fell apart, let alone being treated like scum from security guards because you didn’t stand on the spot they wanted you to when you walked in (no signage, just reading leaflets). Told off for being two minutes late. The work ‘coach’ couldn’t even spell my profession let alone offer any guidance on how to navigate the current market with AI being a factor along with ghost jobs. One of the most shameful experiences of my career for someone like me who teaches kindness, respect and how to support suicide prevention in the workplace. The benefits system needs to do better to support those who have no intention of sitting in the system and want to get out of it asap.

Shambol inappropriate illegal distrust unreliable services

I do apology for given 100% truth reviews and feedback. If I keeps silence that means I am not in honest pathways. Before issued any incorrect wrong letter into my account or my address needs to be reviewed checked correctly. Savings means 1 year or minimum 6 months of period certain amount of money into anyone's account which isn't correct aswell because of that saving money would be for buying something so hard to taken into account. Irrelevant inappropriate letter issued really represents UC aren't able to maintain their honesty or reliability. Mandatory reconsideration what base the actual facts where is no facts. Unnecessarily created issues represents that Curruptions spreaded up inside the UC services. Legal Aid another inappropriate in this matter because of no LEGAL AID funding for this issued. HMRC, Taxes Offices, DWP I didn't received this types of abusive unlawful illegal letters not for this issues where is facts no issues. Deliberately created issues harmful decisions never been appreciated. Ashamed. This never happened that received letters "we are very sorry for incorrect inappropriate errors issued" no never happens. Always main principles basements stood up over to the distrust unreliable disloyalty. Ashamed services and Govt unreliable services after made this much inflation Crisis and poverty. FUEL PAYMENTS this payments that payments but actual facts is cutting down money pouring into their accounts not sure anything they have got it everything goes vanished shortages of funding shortages of everything and money looting various categories of methods. I think bringing more Billions of people from others Countries will be helpful for controlling and preventing Curruptions and poverty. Each per day brought up thousands and thousands of people slams, highly qualified people, murderers killerers, high skills, Asylum seekers all categories of people from other countries because of truly mental services full Curruptions disorders services in London particularly also outside London whole across UK. Please be confidential my feedback and reviews practical traumatised knightmare experiences by the UC also all others services. Unexpected and time to make changes to rebuild life into any other safest Country. Less money poor countries but convenient safer, affordable housing rent, jobs opportunities, affordable lifestyles go to there. Worst jungle and lower animals groups spreaded up inside all across UK. This is their intentions which is so shambol 👎👎👎👎👎💯💥 for lies.

If I could place a review with no stars…

If I could place a review with no stars I would!! A recent experience I have had there was absolutley disgusting. I received unprofessional, racist and derogatary chanting behaviour. For a place that is supposed to support and help people this is diabolical. Not everyone who visits wants to be doing so and to be treated like a person who is not worth there time is so awful. This is based on the Mansfield job Centre

Idiotic

I’ve been made redundant after 12 years in a well-paid job. I was in the Higher Rate tax bracket too, so for the last 12 years have paid significantly large amounts of tax. An evil cowbag at Reading Job Centre, Marilyn by name, told me I had to accept minimum wage roles. I said I’ve earned more than you per annum! I’ve decided not to pursue a Universal Credit claim anymore. I’ve given enough to Starmer’s stinking government. It’s not my fault I was made redundant, possibly due to Rachel From Account’s Class 2 hikes on Employer’s National Isurance.

This place should be closed for good

This place , it’s just dreadful,, only very few are respectful, on first floor MOSES , I find he is lack of good customer support and service, passive aggressive, and if you show some vulnerability, he will try to put pressure on you , , he only is desperate for you to get any job, he doesn’t have a welcoming attitude, , he is very slow , he should be re-trained. I wouldn’t trust him to tell him any concern I might have, when you are not getting a job , he seems like he losing his patience, I don’t like him at all., only a very few are ok ,

sheerness jobcentre plus

i go to my local jobcentre and attend every appointment on one of my previous appointments on 2/9/2025 i was referred to national careers service which i have been with before. the appoint for this was yesterday 26/9/2025 and this was to change my cv and it was completely ruined they took off most of my address and deleted my skills and changed for the ones cut and pasted from there website and they also only put my last five years on work history and any older than five years is down as additional information and they also put lots of words and phrases that do not apply to my experience and they say the cv must be on longer than one page. so finally they just want you to have a cv that is full of LIES, which means every time you apply for a job you have to LIE to every employer and change cv for every job as they do not believe you can do your own cv by yourself as you are not clever enough to do so. this will make it harder to get a job in future. Also they do not listen properly they just pretend to listen as they think every thing you say is an excuse not the truth.

Sanctioned for the first time

Well I’ve been out of work for about five years and never had a problem with the job centre until now . I got sanctioned recently for not attending a course, I told them I do courses online with a website I have used for years . Problem is they don’t like it when you use your initiative. I told them repeatedly that I’ve already done these courses online with a website called free courses online, I showed them my certificates too I was happy going on a course even if I had already done it before , but they didn’t care they treat you like something on their shoe . I’ve had nine different advisers in the last five years and they’ve been very nice but recently they have new advisors who-have been really nasty . I-have a voluntary job too so I keep myself busy but they didn’t seem to care . I thought it would give me a boost in the job market but they just assume everyone is lazy staying in bed all day. I am not lazy I have a voluntary job how’s that being lazy I’m out and about everyday I’m always busy they honestly treat you like shit it’s not right . I am a nice guy I live with my family. they don’t care what background you have or whether you have a family they stop your money it’s not a nice way to treat someone.

Worsley Job Centre.

Worsley Job Centre.

I had great service today from Tina Sherrington, she was very friendly and helpful with lots of information and knowledge. I was rather nervous, this being my first claim and reading previous reviews, but they couldn't be any more wrong.

The office itself was very clean and tidy. The chap on reception, I didn't get his name unfortunately, was also very friendly and pleasant.

The staff there have no consideration…

The staff there have no consideration for people who come to their appointment and have mental health issues, when the staff your seeing tells you something that your not interested in,your are still expected to sit there and listen anyway, even if you have told them over three times
How there in employment and can treat you like SHIT IS UNBELIEVABLE.
I left feeling worse than when I entered, they may have a person with them learning the job role but that Dont mean they can talk to you any way they like
I could name and shame the person but he/she wouldn't give a toss as long as their employed,am just a nobody to them no matter how hard it is for me to go on everyday not being treated like SHIT

Mexborough job centre should be ashamed…

Mexborough job centre should be ashamed of themselves, my daughter has been receiving universal credit for a few months and is off to university in September she has had a week away and because she didn't apply for jobs has been sanctioned for 28 days leaving her with 12 pounds the biggest problem I have other than them being unprofessional and unfriendly is the person whose name I won't mention sends her jobs that include driving she hasn't passed her test yet and management jobs which she obviously won't get a look in , i would like to point out my daughter did A levels and really wants to earn her own money but needs realistic job vacancies. I am appalled at the mentality of those working at the job centre and am now seeking guidance from my local mp as well as starting a formal complaint. I'm not usually one for writing complaints but this has made me extremely angry it also has a negative impact on my daughter .

Job Centre Disatisfaction

I wish to express my disatisfaction with the Didcot Job centre who's goal is to harrass people who have full time permanent work in to attend in person work search reviews. I inderstand it is their policiy and they have protocols to follow but I am not intending to risk my job which took many years to attain by attenting in person interviews at the job centre. I also feel uncomfortable with the constant threat of sanctions despite my telling my local JC that I am now in full time work.. I class this as a bullying tactic, intimidating people in to quitting work to attend in person interviews....which is totally unacceptable....

JobCentre People - Notoriously Bad At Listening To People ...

The JobCentre people are notoriously bad at listening to people.

First, I left this message in my journal on Wednesday 9th July at 10.28 p.m. -

"i cannot keep the friday 11th july appt because i have dialysis on mondays, wednesdays and fridays. i cannot also keep the tuesday 15th july appt because i have an appt with the local community podiatry team. i also cannot keep the thursday 17th july appt because i have an openreach engineer visit to install a new openreach optical network terminal (ont) in my house."

Then, yesterday (Tuesday 15th July 2025), they asked me why I had failed to attend the Tuesday 15th July 2025 appointment -

"You did not attend your appointment on Tuesday 15 July 2025 at 12:00pm. Missing an appointment without good reason could result in you losing some or all of your payment. We call this being sanctioned."

I then left this reply at 6.04 p.m. -

"I ALREADY TOLD YOU I HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY PODIATRY TEAM FOR TUESDAY 15TH JULY AT 1 PM. WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE AT *********.

YOU DID NOT LISTEN TO ANYTHING I SAID AT ALL !!!!

IF YOU WON'T LISTEN TO ANYTHING I SAY, THEN I DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO ANYTHING YOU SAY !!!! WHY SHOULD I BOTHER IF YOU WON'T LISTEN TO ANYTHING I SAY????"

Then I left this at 6.58 pm -

"AND I ALSO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AT ******* FOR NEXT TUESDAY (TUESDAY 22ND JULY 2025)"

They accepted my explanation for not attending Tuesday 15th July's appointment.

They now expect me to attend tomorrow's appointment (Thursday 17th July 2025). I cannot keep the appointment because, like I have already explained in my Wednesday 9th July message (see above), I have an Openreach engineer visit to install my Internet (Optical Network Terminal, or ONT) scheduled for tomorrow.

I don't know if they will accept that.

No wonder the stuff between their ears is brown, and no wonder everything gets screwed up by them.

Clearly not fit for purpose in handling…

Clearly not fit for purpose in handling UC claims.

As a full-time worker they somehow managed to excel themselves by withholding a UC payment due to them deciding to use 2 month's worth of wages to calculate 1 of 12 monthly payments.

This was outlined early via our journal (a week before the monthly claim payment date) yet somehow it wasn't even rectified more than half a month later.

Being unable to work as a result meant that the DWP made a stellar attempt at putting my job in jeopardy, especially as the support goes towards paying bills and my role is remote. Excellent effort for a department that is supposedly meant to help people find and maintain work.

Vicky in the Makerfield Centre in particular deserves a commendation for consistency is being plain ignorant to concerns, and being completely clueless when it comes to processes. Despite bringing up the issue via the journal Vicky directed us to a service centre number after a week of nothing, we wasted time calling, waiting, and explaining the problem, only to be told that this issue needed to be raised via our online journal...

As a result of the issue I wanted to raise a complaint, the government's own website states that this can be raised via the online journal, and that it can be requested to be completed in person. Two requests have been made, both ignored by Vicky and instead met with a reply of being 'extremely busy' and journals being responded to as soon as possible.

A really helpful way to arrange the in person complaint which I am still waiting for. I cannot raise this above them as the next step requires a 'final response' from the DWP, with Vicky simply refusing to acknowledge the complaint in the first place.

I can only imagine that everyone else who deals with this branch is having similar issues, hence why they are far too busy to deal with non-payments as a result of misadministration and customer grievances.

Then there's Karen in the Blackpool Job centre branch, after toiling with a needless process that might as well have gone as far as asking me to take pictures holding up placards whilst standing on my head in a needless back and forth I requested completing things in person. Karen asked my availability for the following week, I provided two days where I was not rota'd in to work, she managed to book an appointment for one of the other three days instead.

Then on another occasion it was decided that they wanted me to attend a work related meeting at the branch, I was unable to attend due to once again being rota'd in to the full time employment at a company I had been with for a long time.

For turning up for work instead and failing to attend this meeting I was threatened with UC sanctions. Because going to a job centre and discussing my career options is apparently far more important than actually working.

I asked why this had happened and got no clarification and was simply ignored, nearly three years later and I'm still none the wiser as to why they still have me noted for this.

Woeful service and even worse treatment of people who have to deal with them.
