Fantastic Experience

I had a fantastic experience with Adelina Comaromi. She was very friendly and approachable during our screening call, and throughout the interview process she was extremely supportive, answering all my questions. I would rate Adelina and JobRack 11/10 and highly recommend them!

Disrespectful, Demoralizing and Unethical recruitment process

UPDATE: Stop trying to patronize me Jobrack, for sure it's frustrating to invest time into anything without any result, but you didn't provide any feedback on my work despite your claim that you had 'assessed it' - also the reviews below say otherwise...

I recently went through the recruitment process for a role connected with Patent Bots / JobRack, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing and frustrating.

Chelsea was a totally unprofessional, dishonest, and disrespectful recruiter who rushed through our call without even apologizing for being late or for the technical glitch that reduced the time available. Because of that, I was unable to say everything I had prepared. She did not apologize for this either. In the end, it did not matter anyway, as I had apparently already been disqualified prior to the call.

As part of the application process, candidates were asked to complete a fairly extensive take-home assignment, which required a significant amount of time and effort and was unpaid.

After submitting the assignment, I scheduled an interview with the recruiter and even cancelled another interview opportunity in order to attend. However, during the scheduled interview I learned that my assignment had already been assessed as insufficient and that I would not be progressing further in the process - I assume she and the CEO of Patent Bots simply decided not to tell me this in advance and only wanted to waste my time -clearly transparency isn't their strongest trait.

This information could easily have been communicated beforehand and would have saved both time and effort. Instead, the interview still went ahead despite the decision already having been made, which felt like a lack of respect for the candidate’s time.

I fully understand that not every application will be successful and that companies must choose the best candidates. That is completely fair. However, when applicants are asked to complete lengthy unpaid assignments, clear communication and transparency become even more important.

I would also encourage companies hiring internationally to ensure that their recruitment practices are aligned with local labour regulations in the jurisdictions where candidates are located, including EU and Bulgarian standards concerning unpaid work and trial tasks.

I am sharing this experience simply so that other applicants know what to expect if they decide to apply

Hi Stefan,

Thank you for the review. We take feedback like this seriously and have looked into it.

To clarify a few points:

The hiring decision was not made before the interview. The client reviewed both the test task and the interview together before reaching a final decision.

Regarding the call itself, our recruiter was 3 minutes late and communicated this to you at the time. There were also some technical issues on your end that delayed the start further. Despite this, the call ran for over 20 minutes, which provided enough time for a fair discussion of your experience and for the client to make their assessment.

On test tasks, these are optional and typically designed to take around two hours. They’re part of the process to give candidates a fair opportunity to showcase their skills directly to the employer, and are used purely for evaluation purposes. Candidates are always free to decline.

We've also reached out to you directly to address the specifics in more detail.

We understand it's frustrating to invest time and not move forward, and we do appreciate the effort you put in.

Wishing you all the best going forward.

Kind regards,
The JobRack Team

Yeah they are scammers and they are definitely going to waste your time, don’t even bother with that “quick” assignment you are never going to hear back from them

Hi Keke,

We take accusations like this very seriously, which is why we looked into your comment straight away.

For context, JobRack is a recruitment partner that helps companies hire remote team members. As part of that process, some roles include a short test task (usually around two hours) so candidates can demonstrate their skills directly to the employer. These are genuine roles with real companies.

If something has gone wrong in your experience, we absolutely want to understand it and fix it. Please contact us at support@jobrack.eu with the role name and the email used for your application and we will look into it right away.

Kind regards,
The JobRack Team

Unprofessional and biased staff

Jobrack is not what it used to be, 6 years ago it was great, Ilma was awesome, but not, especially Chelsie, not so good. I got a 2 jobs there 6 years ago, without any problem ,and with paid tests, now, even thought there have been perfect positions for my skill, i got ghosted or gotten a template rejection email. They seem quite biased, like she wants to hire only people from south Africa. I even got in contact with one of the companies i applied to, and they said they didn't get any of my tests, and were quite surprised.

Hi Arturo,

Thank you for sharing your feedback.

We’re sorry to hear that your experience applying for roles through JobRack felt frustrating. To address the points you’ve raised:

On candidate location and perceived bias
JobRack does not favor candidates from any one country or region. Employers using JobRack define their own hiring requirements. In some cases, clients may lean more heavily toward certain regions due to operational, legal, or other needs, but these preferences are set by the hiring companies, not by JobRack team members.

On test tasks and employers not receiving them
We do not request unpaid or commercial work. Test tasks are limited in scope and used only for evaluation.

If an employer indicated they did not receive your test task, this does not automatically mean it was withheld unfairly. Applications may not be passed on if:
• the role was paused or filled early,
• requirements changed mid-process,
• or the application did not progress past an initial screening stage.

That said, we take concerns like this seriously and would want to review the specific case if details are shared with us.

On communication and feedback
We understand how frustrating it is to receive template rejections or limited feedback. Unfortunately, when we receive a high volume of applications, we don’t always provide individualized feedback, which can result in more generic responses. This is something we continue to work on improving.

We appreciate you taking the time to leave this review. If you’re open to it, we’d encourage you to contact us directly at support@jobrack.eu with the roles you’re referring to, so we can properly look into what happened and give you a clear answer.

Kind regards,
The JobRack Team

Don't waste your time

I’ve had multiple negative experiences with JobRack over the years. Long, unpaid assignments, rejections without any feedback, and very little transparency.

In one case, a company recruiting through JobRack misused my personal ID. JobRack’s response was simply to tell me to report it to the police myself, instead of taking responsibility.

I don’t feel candidates are protected or respected on this platform. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Hi Ana,

Thank you for sharing your feedback.

We’re sorry to hear that your experience applying for roles through JobRack felt frustrating and lacking transparency. To address the points you’ve raised:

Unpaid assignments: We require test tasks to be short and focused, designed to take no longer than two hours to complete. They are intended solely to assess suitability for a role, and candidates can always decline a test task if they feel the scope or time requirement is not appropriate.

Feedback and communication: While we aim for candidates to receive updates at each stage, feedback ultimately depends on the employer’s hiring timeline and decisions. That said, we recognise how disappointing it can feel when communication doesn’t meet expectations, and this is something we continue to work on improving.

Personal ID misuse: JobRack does not request or require candidates to share personal identification documents as part of our application process. Any sharing of sensitive information outside our platform is strongly discouraged. If a third party is suspected of misusing personal data, reporting it to the relevant authorities is necessary, as it falls outside our systems and direct control. We do, however, review and act on reports concerning employer behaviour on our platform when they are brought to our attention.

We take candidate protection seriously and have clear guidance, employer checks, and safeguards in place to support a fair hiring process. While we’re sorry this was your impression of JobRack, we remain committed to running a transparent platform and continuously improving the experience for candidates.

Best regards,
JobRack Team

New job opportunity

I was looking for my next remote opportunity and Esther assisted me through all the process. I got info after each step and the process only took a couple of weeks (it also depends on the company, but still). I recorded a video, send my material, had a test job and three interviews in total (first one with Esther, rest with the company). It was all smooth and Im happy to say she assisted me to get my next opportunity in a great company as I was sent an offer. Thank you :)

I've used JobRack for over 5 years now

I've used JobRack for over 5 years now.
Typical hiring platform, with one very serious twist - you will do FREE test tasks right after you send your CV (automatically, no review process, only exists to give a sense of seriousness). You will pass FREE test task (always at least 3 hours of work), and have a screening call, and then - nothing.
Either you'll get a generic "moved on in another direction email" or nothing at all. They did get smarter about this lately though - it used to be screening call, then FREE task; now they switched it to make you feel like they actually liked your FREE work.
So, they will get a huge base of resources from different professionals, for FREE.
I also got an email saying "Dear [Candidate's Name], your experience and knowledge are impressive.", which shows you they're not impressed, it's just for everyone. Very manipulative behavior.

Fun story - a company contacted me in January and paid for my test task. In July, JobRack asked me to FREE test task for the same company. I don't believe the company in question stopped paying for tasks, so you figure it out...Oh, also, I passed in January, not with JobRack though.

Just for reference - I've used the platform for 5+ years, had 58 interviews, 58 FREE tasks, not one offer. In the meantime, I was hired 3 times from other platforms.

This is very dangerous behavior and needs to be stopped, because the job market is already too tough.

EDIT after their reply: None of my complaints are about the HR team. In fact, Kasia is extremely kind and helpful, Esther is very prompt and helpful, and Aleks actually wrote to me from his vacation to make sure I didn't miss my interview with the client!

Neither do I expect or ask to get hired just for complaining.

What I am saying is that the management basically gives promises and guides about the process and especially free tasks section that are never fulfilled. It always takes longer than 2 hours, we are never offered a fee for it, and have no idea where the tasks, or videos we record every single time, finish going.

It goes against your own SOPs: https jobrack.eu blog/how-to-hire-testing-and-interviewing-candidates-part-4

Hi Marko,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Sorry for any frustration caused, it’s definitely not intentional. To address your points:

Free test tasks
None of our employers use candidate submissions as “real work.” They’re purely to help find the right people. We commend your effort in applying for roles and are sorry that as yet you’ve not found the right fit.

We always encourage our employers to make sure tasks are short and focused.

You should always receive an update at every stage. If you didn’t, that’s our mistake, and we sincerely apologize. Please email us at support@jobrack.eu so we can investigate.

We’re constantly striving to improve our communication to ensure candidates aren’t left without updates as we know how frustrating that is.

While many candidates do get hired through JobRack every month, not everyone can be successful, depending on competition and employer needs. We never want anyone to feel their time was wasted, and we take your experience as valuable input to further tighten our processes.

We know the job market can be very challenging, and our goal is to improve, not add to the difficulty. We’ll continue working to make our process as fair, transparent, and worthwhile as possible, and we’re grateful for your feedback.

All the best,
JobRack Team
