Below minimum wage/ Consistent wage theft
I had such high hopes for this company. Essentially : Working Solutions is a platform which works as an intermediary between the independent contractor (You) and the client company (i.e Turbo Tax, A place for Mom, etc.)
The independent contractor signs a contract with working solutions which outlines policies (pay, attendance, etc) to be executed by you and working solutions.
Issue: WORKING SOLUTIONS DOES NOT ADHERE TO THEIR PORTION OF THE CONTRACT REGARDING PAY.
On SEVERAL occasions many hundreds of contractors have complained about missing pay, resource agent behavior, and made-up contract stipulations ( Usually regarding pay after agents notice non-payment for hours worked). None of these issues have ultimately resolved, instead, the company sends a placeholder to gaslight all of the complaining contractors i.e " I got my money; if the 150+ of you haven't received your pay, it's likely a user error. Follow up with a dispute. " We even had the VP of Programs pop into a chat to
interject on pay issues, the only problem is, her response had NOTHING to do with missing pay.
The contractors are not in error with their complaints; they are being robbed of time and money.
The accounting team does not adhere to the pay dispute guarantee.
So essentially, you end up being paid .05/min for the time you've worked instead of the guaranteed 0.25-0.30/min.
Working solutions holds that this issue varies depending on the client. That is not the truth. Ultimately, Working Solutions is in charge of remitting payments to its contractors and has had several issues with this across client programs.
The work environment is horrible and full of bad-mannered, passive-aggressive resource agents. Resource agents are level 1 help agents that are paid about 0.01 cent more per minute than regular agents to help new agents with questions during calls.
As independent contractors/Agents, everyone is their own boss. However, that doesn't stop the resource agents from barking orders at the agents that ask for help in the help room chats, being downright rude at every turn, and signing agents off of the phone systems at random (a BIG issue since your paycheck is auto-populated based on the minutes you spend logged into the phone systems)
There are program Managers that are supposed to be there to help resolve these issues, but they do nothing.
A lot of the agents are complacent and have bullied other agents when/if they complain about any of the maladapted behaviors and practices that are in place.
You can see many threads of resource agent/normal agent interactions that are appalling in language and scope. These threads usually start with a simple and innocent question about the inner workings of working solutions and are met with vicious comments.
Essentially it all boils down to a facet of exploitation. Many of the workers here have few other choices in attaining quick and easy employment in this time, and are unlikely to seek legal recourse as the pay they receive is close to nothing.
Save yourself, do not contract here.
