The Best Building Experience we could ever have!

The Best Experience we could ever have! You hear a lot of horror stories about builders, especially when it comes to major renovations. John Waugh just completed a very major renovation on or home at Forster NSW. It included doubling the area of our living/lounge area, doubling the area of our bedroom and the construction of a large hydrotherapy spa room off the bedroom, total renovation of the main bathroom and walk-in wardrobe, construction of an attached very large garage and workshop, changing the entire roof from tiles to Colourbond, replacement of the canal front retaining wall and raising the level of the garden/lawn to make it level with the new living area. The potential for something to go wrong or for delays to occur loomed large in a project of this size, but John and his team completed everything very smoothly and entirely on time (6 months from beginning to end). The quality of the work is impeccable and all his subcontract trades arrrived on time and delivered to John's very high standards. In the six months the workers were on site, we never heard one swear word and any amendments were never an issue. John did not just build to the original plans, he was completely invested in the job and made many suggestions that we adopted, producing a much better result than originally envisaged by the architect. Because access to the front of the house was limited they even wheelbarrowed 13 truck loads (!) of fill from the street to the front garden to raise its level by 600mm to match the new building level. John maintained a good relationship with neighbours during the disruptions of the construction period, to the point that when an amendment had to be submitted to Council, the neighbours made submissions of SUPPORT on the Council website ensuring very rapid approval of the amendments and no hold up to the job. If you live anywhere in the Great Lakes Region you have found the Builder you need, no matter how complicated or difficult the job, particularly if you already have issues created by a previous builder. A major renovation that could have bee a protracted nightmare was instead a dream, delivering the result and quality we required and exactly on time. Quality comes at a price, but we got exactly what we wanted and at excellent value for money.
