Fraud and corp greed!

During the points earning. From this app, I accumulated around $266 worth USD in gift cards to claim. I saved up those points by completing tasks like shopping where they receive affiliate dollars, taking surveys where they receive pay for my responses, and playing their games also for points and tracking my credit cards and data. Also, in exchange for points. To my calculations, they pay me one percent of what they are earning. so over the last year they have made $26,000 from my purchases, surveys, and data. When I engaged in these activities with them, the terms were I could redeem my points earned doing the tasks for gift cards as payment. However somewhere recently they decided to change it so you cannot redeem for gift cards when you are ready instead, you enter a lottery every week to get the opportunity to redeem up to $25 worth of your points each week. And apparently they sell out fast. There is no way like before to just go and get $266 worth of Amazon gift cards as I should be able to. so they’ve changed the terms, but these weren’t the terms in which I earned this money in. I have contacted them asking them to send me a gift card for $266 to Amazon, or make payment at once. The only response they will send our copy and paste messages explaining this new policy, where they aren’t letting us redeem as promised when we performed. there’s an article by the CEO LinkedIn bragging how he was able to salvage the company and of course their high salaries and profitability because they chose a bank that went belly up on them and some how that my problem now because they achieve this by screwing over all their users. It has taken dedication and a lot of time each day to rack up the kind of points I have. In past years, I was able to start redeeming all of my points to get the Amazon gift cards and time to use to spend at Christmas. It is fraud, exploitation, and corporate greed at its finest

Locked Out of App

I too am in the same boat as everyone else. GC sell out immediately on Thursdays.

As of this week, I can not even log on to the app. When clicking on app, it immediately kicks me out. Before you ask, yes I updated the app, deleted and downloaded it again, turned phone off/on, cleared my search cache.

I CAN NOT LOG ON TO REMOVE MY CREDIT CARDS. DROP ARE CONTINUING TO COLLECT MY PURCHASE INFORMATION… FOR FREE.

Class action lawsuit, here we come.

STAY AWAY FROM DROP!

Well, I have $251 worth of points that I’ll never be able to redeem before the company dissolves. They are still tracking and selling your data — remove your cards, tracking, and all of your information so they can’t data mine you without cutting you in on the profits. I had $200 invested in their on platform crypto. Today, they returned it all to points due to crypto being in a bull market. I should have known and cashed out back when they actually had a supply of gift cards. Won’t make that mistake again.

This used to be a great app

This used to be a great app. I would save up points all year to help pay for Christmas. Now you have less than a minute one day out of each week to redeem your points. When I tried to redeem, I got an error and then they were all sold out again. Black Friday shopping is easier! it seems the developers are making it as as hard as possible (not impossible ) to actually redeem points. Very disappointing and pretty unethical.

Drop app and Derrick Fung are the scummers.

if i could give the drop app a negative number I would. Derrick Fung has boasted on his website how much money he has made off of us that trusted his website. I am looking for someone to sue him pro bono or take a portion of what money we get for all of us that he has screwed over. I truthfully would like to see the jerk in jail.

Gift card redemption scam

The gift card redemption is awful and ridiculous! It's limited to 25 bucks a week and it's virtually impossible to redeem before they're sold out within a minute. Seriously? How do they sell out of gift cards? They must not be financially solvent. So, if you have hundreds of dollars in points it would take years to redeem your points. That's unacceptable. This app used to be much better. Don't bother using now since it could takes years to redeem gift cards if you're a big earner like myself.

I’d give it ZERO stars if I could

I’d give it ZERO stars if I could. I’ve use this app Lots in the past, however, in the last few months they changed the policy to redeem your points. Points can only be redeemed on Thursdays at noon. GOOD LUCK! They’re gone within 1-2 minutes & then you have to wait another week to TRY again. I’ve kept the app simply because I want to redeem my points. Yes, I’ve written to the app creators with no constructive response. Save your time and use one of the other apps that are great at redeeming your points and getting what you worked for. I have screenshots and videos of how quickly you’re told try again next Thursday at noon. At one time I seriously appreciated this app and referred friends and family. Not today.

Potential Future Survey Takers Should Know

*Update: June 17, 2025

Bloomberg Law Published the following:
Shopping Rewards App Drop Sued Over Difficult-to-Redeem Points

Sept. 16, 2024, 5:22 PM EDT
COURT: C.D. Cal.
TRACK DOCKET: No. 2:24-cv-07848
re: California Docket #.
I do not have further info, because it was behind Bloomberg Law's paywall.

Below are my reviews beginning two years ago:
I am still owed over $100, and earn roughly $5-15/yr because of their rule change.
3 months ago, these people switched to “Instant Rewards Redemption”. In reality what these people did was change redemptions to:
⇨“Every Thursday at exactly 1:00pm EST (New York USA Time).
If you have a job, you will never get a gift card because either you work during the day, or you can't get to a phone at exactly that time, or their seems to be a low chance in my experience, that all Rewards will be sold out within 1 or 2 minutes each and every week, and that ends all redemption possibilities until the next Thursday, when they might or might not sell out Redemption Rewards again within two minutes.
⇨ Every Thursday at exactly 1:00pm EST (New York USA Time)
If you are on the app and/or website waiting, because you are lucky enough to be able to get a redemption chance (In my opinion, it shouldn’t be “A Chance”, as my Survey Time is due an offered reward for the time taken), at exactly 1:00pm EST (New York USA Time), two things might happen:
1. The app and/or website will not load at all because every user from all over the world, who wants to redeem points, are all in their app and/or website server all at once. Due to that, their server seems to get overwhelmed every Thursday, and will not load any of the “available rewards” options at all, so you see a partially loaded app and/or webpage, and just might get nothing within 1-2 minutes, which is unfortunate, because you rightfully earned Survey Reward Points (which are worthless, unless you can redeem them), Then, eventually, the app and/or the website eventually catches up as people leave the app and/or website, after a healthy amount of Survey Takers might or might not actually redeem points
2. The App loads, and a countdown timer appears. When it gets to ZERO, you will now click to redeem.
At that point, either you are able to actually redeem your points, or a notification may pop up on the app and/or website that says simply:
* ‘Rewards have Sold Out, Next Rewards Will Be Available with the Date, with the next week’s time of "Thursday, 1:00pm EST (New York USA Time)’.
*Please note that I just enclosed a quote within apostrophes, denoting a paraphrase, not a direct quote of the notification.
It appears to me that I am not alone, because, after reading recent Apple App Store reviews, and TrustPilot Reviews, as well as searching Reddit for this issue, within the last two months, there is no shortage of disillusioned Survey Takers. While I state that I haven't been getting rewarded for helping their company, this issue is not just interspersed within reviews, it appears to be an endemic issue.
Yes, what I am saying is this issue of Survey Takers like me not getting their rightfully earned rewards seems to be "endemic".
This seems to be a fact to me, though, again, it is alleged because I am merely coming to that conclusion from my personal experience, which includes a large majority of reviews I have read in both Apple's App Store (filter the App Store reviews to recent and it will show you recent months reviews, which are overwhelmingly 1 and 2 star), as well as reading reviews here on TrustPilot. And, of course, roughly eight months of taking surveys while earning points.
Please note that this company has no customer support phone number at all, and they have only replied to possibly 0-10% (my personal opinion after contracting these people week after week), after sending them support tickets.
▷My Personal Experience:
Until 3 months ago, you would just redeem your points at any time of day or night, even immediately after earning 25,000 points, which is enough for their lowest value gift cards. At that point, you would wait 60 days, and the reward would show up in an email within a few days, after the 60 day waiting period. At least you got your reward 100% of the time.
Now, in reality, since these people changed to "Immediate Rewards Redemption", I should have no issues, because I can get into their app and/or website every Thursday, 10 minutes before 1:00pm EST (New York USA Time), but I get shut out roughly 90% of the r time, week after week, within 1-2 minutes of the Rewards being "Available". I did get one Rewards Redemption after "Immediate Rewards" became available, in Week 2 of (1) Gift Card. That was roughly 4 months ago. Since then, I have earned 100,000 Rewards Points, which have no real value unless I can redeem them (which seems nearly impossible.

Time to DROP this app

Time to Drop this app. It used to work but now it's just a bait-and-switch tactic: get users to integrate all of their payment methods and purchase history [read: DATA] into the app with the alluring promise of redeeming points for gift card rewards. Except the app crashes whenever you try to make it for the Thursday gift card release frenzy. By the time you're able to relaunch the app the gift cards are gone within 3 minutes. What a waste. I'd rather donate plasma or get a side gig to earn a little bit more play money than continue sending my data to this company.

This app has turned into a scam. It is impossible to redeem gift cards for points already earned. I have been trying weekly at exactly 1PM when the gift cards supposedly drop and every week the app crashes or says all gift cards are sold out at exactly 1PM. Something seems a little fishy with this new weekly drop.

Scam

Scam. Scam. Scam. Sure wish the owners, developers etc. would just be transparent and come out and say “hey folks, we tried and we failed, there are no more gift cards. We regret that we can’t fulfill our promise to you after collecting your data.”
Now they just look like fools continuing to dupe customers with the Thursday at 1pm gift card drop that doesn’t exist! Shame on you Drop, your product was great now you’re just a big fat #fail.
