If it's too good to be true - it is.

Went through all the rest drive and little hoops.
Moral of the story - if it sounds too good to be true, it definitely is.
They ask you for details before your test drive, lead you into a false hope, provide you with a quote, and then take it back and say you can't have that quote due to details you disclosed earlier.

I completed my test drive, informed them that I had an SP50 from over a year ago.
(Doing 56 in a temporary 50 on a motorway. Not even real speeding but hey-ho"
Got through to the quote, looked pretty good, but not great, so asked if they could do better on the price, and they did!

Until I wanted to know what changes would be made to the cost after providing proof of two years no claims.

They then sent me a message stating "we can't insure you because of your conviction"
Which they knew about, BEFORE giving me a quote.

Stop giving people quotes and then snatching the back because your system is flawed, and fail to do anything about it.
Stop leading people on and providing them with a false sense of security.

Do better

Only insured me for year and didn’t…

Only insured me for year and didn’t offer a quote for next, these small companies will always leave you in difficult situations. I have learnt my lesson to go with admiral now.

Good

Hello, I want to thank you for being insured by Rooster and say that so far I have not found difficulties or problems filling out my policy, now I will evaluate my service in the next few days, that my insurance is active and so I will be able to evaluate Rooster with a different view. Can’t fault them.

Setup a policy via DriveScore with Rooster. Compared to other insurance providers these guys had by far the best quote. Had a couple questions and their live chat feature was great as I spoke to a real person not a robot, they were really helpful and replied within 1/2 minutes. Can’t fault the service.

The trials of a British beacon

You failed to quote me as a young driver...... Very disappointing. In years to come I will remember the feeling of emptynis as I slowly sob over my un insured car. I hope I become an example of your failure.... A beacon of hope, if you will, to future Generations of roosters.

I have finished driving test and…

I have finished driving test and waiting from quote for couple of days.
I havet recieved the quote than i massaged them

*Do you drive often? We only managed to collect 56 miles from your test drive. We usually need around 200. After looking at your quote i can see you dont yet meet our minimum requirements, you need to of held your full UK license for at least 12 months before we can insure, sorry you missed this. Hopefully we can help next year.*

🤣 Such a joke? I though your app alogaritham is good? During my driving test, I drove to Manchester from leeds. Bradford from leeds twice and when i saw a sponsor add on instagram from your page. It was explaining that you guyz also insure new driver. Your add is perticularly for new driver explain that "DID YOU RECENTLY PASSED YOUR DRIVING TEST? AND GETTING EXPENSIVE INSURANCE" Something like that.
Also, your algorithm dont work properly
I drove more that 200 miles definately bcz every weekend i travell to manchester or Bradford from leeds..
Rubish not recomended.

Also if there is a requrinment to hold the licence for atleast 12 months then why did they took my licence details and give me a goo to test?
They are collectign someone data?
Bcz from my licence details they know that i am a new driver and not hold licence more than 5 months?

I am going to send them a notice throug lawyer.
Bcz if there a requirment than they should not have give me a goo to the test while taking details..
They are froud. I am going to handle them now

Not working

It never work I click all the notifications etc it will say it will start recording my driver never work record nothing just give up 😂😂

Not what I expected

Wanted an insurance quote but you had to drive around to use the app so they could assess your driving before that happened. Not what I needed at the time but may be useful to some

At Rooster we record your driving behaviour for about 3 weeks before we can look to offer you a quote, only insuring safer drivers & offering those safer drivers fairer prices. The test drive is valid for 18 months, so even if you don't have the time before your renewal it is certainly something to bear in mind next year. In the meantime, there are plenty of traditional insurers out there who don't look at your driving behaviour, so best of luck with your search for another insurance company!

renewal price was higher than previous…

renewal price was higher than previous price even thou no claims no accidents no points on license, same car same address. first year it was great, the quote they gave me was considerably lower than other companies, i don’t understand the reason behind the hike in price.

Used to be great.

I joined rooster a few years back, and after completing the test drive, they gave me a quote that was considerably less than others. It was great, and I was with them for 2 years. However, towards the end of my second year, they got new underwriters, and then at my next renewal my price went up by more than 3x. I had no accidents or incidents, same car, no change in cover requirements and I actually had 3 points expire.
When I reached out to the customer service asking why the price has gone up so drastically, the rep came back to me and said he has managed to bring my price down a bit, but didn't give any further details. As I was reviewing my information, I then noticed that my marital status had been changed to married, and when I changed this back to single, the quote went back to where it was. This is quite concerning, considering that constitutes fraud.
Maybe it could be a good experience for someone else, it definitely initially was for me, but it isn't what it used to be.

would litterally tell me that we can't give you quote because your name is flagged, like what? what do you mean by flagged? you dont have any proof, I didn't do anything, what do you mean by flagged, wasted my two weeks. better to go with other insurance providers.

A no brainer

Brilliant way to get insurance. My quote was just as cheap as others found on compare the market but with a much lower deposit. Saved me hundreds.
