I had a very disappointing experience with Swapp. The car provided was in an unacceptable condition—it was dirty upon collection and clearly had not been properly cleaned or inspected. To make matters worse, one of the tyres was punctured, which raised serious safety concerns and caused significant inconvenience.
In addition, I was overcharged for fuel and extra fees that were neither clearly explained nor justified. This lack of transparency and attention to vehicle maintenance reflects poorly on the company’s service standards.
Overall, this experience did not meet my expectations, and I would urge Swapp to improve their vehicle checks, cleanliness, and billing transparency. I hope they address these issues to prevent similar experiences for other customers.
Missile hit a building and they tried to charge me 200dh for handing pre-paid car back early - plus no refund!
Avoid this company like the plague! I rented the car in Dubai on Careem with Swapp for 1 month which I paid 2339 AED ($636 USD) FULL. With that was a 200 AED discount for the first month rental.
After just one week with the car, a drone from Iran hit the residential building opposite my apartment, another hit the ground and several others flew overhead very low followed by fighter jets, I decided to urgently leave the apartment and made arrangements for SWAPP to collect the car with the building security, leaving the keys available to them.
I drove a total of 12km because the GPS was jammed so I could not get around. I did contact them to see if they'd do the responsible thing and offer even a partial refund, but the first thing they did was cite their terms. I don't care one bit about their terms but whatever that's what they did.
Next thing I was not expecting. Because they took the car back early, even though they are not giving me any form of refund, they want to charge me 200 AED ($54 USD) to remove the discount because I did not keep the car for the whole month!
They never said that when I arranged for them to collect the car. It could have been left in the basement of the building in the secure parking where I left it until the whole month was over. Instead I gave them a car back that they can rent again despite me having paid for another 3 weeks!
I did one trip in this car to a local mall, that one trip cost me 2339 AED ($636 USD).
Now I've told them to return the car to the basement and leave it there until the rental contact ends and then they won't need to charge me the 200 AED ($54 USD). Absolutely rubbish company.
In the time of crisis you cannot even rely on them, let alone under normal circumstances!
SWAPP use Thrift car rentals - you might as well go direct to Thrift its about the same price anyway!
The worst company ever
The worst company ever, they kept charging my cards over and over for the same charges claiming Miscellaneous, when I asked for proofs they sent me invoices they generate in their company letterhead, when I did deeper they refused to send me. They pay fines or parking fees immediately then charge %25 service on top of the fine/parking fees. They don’t notify drivers to pay the fines directly. Their prices are more expensive, the experience is worse, and they are borderline committing fraud and overcharging and abusing their customers. Stay away from them.

Death trap on 4 wheels
I had a genuinely disappointing experience with Swapp car rental in Dubai.
The service looked great online and promised convenience, but the reality was very different. Communication was poor, the process was far from smooth, and the overall experience felt unprofessional and unnecessarily stressful. What should have been a simple, straightforward car rental turned into frustration and wasted time.
In Dubai, where service standards are generally high and there are plenty of reliable rental options, this really stood out — and not in a good way. I wouldn’t use Swapp again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a hassle-free rental experience.
Hopefully they improve, but based on my experience, there are much better alternatives available.

⚠️ STAY AWAY - DANGEROUS VEHICLES AND FRAUDULENT CHARGES ⚠️
My experience with Swapp has been an absolute nightmare. I rented a car in November that was poorly maintained and dangerous to drive. Even after they replaced it, the second vehicle had the exact same alignment issues, vibrating dangerously at speeds over 100 km/h.
The situation became even worse after I returned the car in mid-December. I have just been charged for 9 traffic fines that do not belong to me. I personally verified these fine numbers with Dubai Police and the RTA portal—the evidence is clear: none of these fines are linked to the vehicle I actually rented.
Despite providing irrefutable proof, Swapp refuses to provide a real human response or issue a refund. They only send generic AI-generated replies that ignore the facts.
I have officially filed a complaint for fraud with the Dubai Police and I am escalating the matter to the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (Consumer Protection). Do not trust this company with your money or your safety. Avoid at all costs. Case ongoing.
Poor maintenance and customer service
I’ve been using Swapp since the beginning to rent budget cars and I feel that their services are getting worse and worse.
When you have no issues with your rental or payments everything is fine but when the issues come the communication with customer support through phone is very hard to understand and not clear which makes it an annoying and frustrating experience.
I’ve rented a Suzuki Ciaz, and after the car handover I’ve checked that the rear camera and parking sensors were not working. I’ve contacted the customer service and they sent me a replacement car which had another issue, this time was the tank door that was stuck and couldn’t open it so I didn’t accept the replacement vehicle and again the costumer support sent another vehicle but wrong model, this time they sent a Nissan Sunny which is not the car I’ve rented so I had to contact again the costumer service and they finally sent the right car
The cars are poorly maintained and overpriced, they should give a better service and customer support.
I will not recommend this company to anyone and I will have to find a better solution for monthly rent.

After completing the car rental, my account was charged an additional AED 312.5 and AED 463 under the name “traffic fine.” When I checked the records, no such fine existed, and it had already been paid, so it does not appear in the system.
Other car rental companies send the official documents immediately when a traffic fine is issued. When I requested the official documents, they did not respond via email.
Be careful—do not rent from this company.

Best car rental company in Dubai
Swapp has been very professional and helpful during the time of my accident which was a nightmare. They expited the process and helped me get back on the road. Their prices was slightly steep but still better than any other company. Their staff was extremely polite and really loved the rental service. I saw reviews stating false fines being issued which I hope they do not do to me so it affects my reviews but I look to start a new chapter with them in Jan 2026- December 2026. I highly recommend Swapp over any other company!

I would give zero stars if i could. I don't usually write reviews online but this they deserve.
From the start, I received a 200 AED discount and paid the full amount upfront for an entire month, including FULL insurance (extra cost). After three weeks, I decided to return the car. I told them in advance, but they messed up the booking date and set it for the wrong day. Then, they tried to charge me an extra 200 AED just because I was returning the car earlier — even though early return benefits THEM since they can rent it out again sooner. Total nonsense.
Because of this , I decided to keep the car until the agreed date.
When I went to return the car, their employee REFUSED to take it because of a tiny 2 cm scratch that was there before. The behavior was arrogant and unprofessional. And here’s the best part:
Before renting, I specifically asked their staff if full insurance covered small scratches like this. They said YES — “you’re fully covered.”
Now they want to charge 480 AED (420 AED + 50 AED “handling”) for that same scratch. Even if I HAD caused it, I paid for full insurance , so what exactly did I pay for?
Support is basically unresponsive. They barely reply, and when they do, it’s useless.
Then it gets worse:
The next day, they tried to charge 63 AED claiming I returned the car on the 5th, when I clearly returned it on the 4th. More lies.
I will NOT pay anything to these scammers. Good luck trying to take anything from my card.
There are many honest rental companies in the UAE. Do NOT rent with Swapp unless you want to be cheated, ignored, and charged for nonsense.
Awful service
Awful service! Feels more like a scam company. Car shall be delivered between 12 and 2 pm. The driver calls at 14:30 to say he’s one hour away!
They let me know at 12 that same car is not available and they offer an older model for 4 days and then they will deliver the one I reserved.
Their customer service sucks! It’s not really worth it.
Used them few times and not a single time has it been a hustle free experience. A pure headache!
