being an absolute novice i already felt…
being an absolute novice i already felt uncomfortable, the owner Trevor made me feel at ease but the moment he left the instructor gave me little to no encouragement or support, and made several sarcastic comments about my lack of riding ability, i still need to complete my CBT but don’t feel comfortable returning and most likely will not ride again.
Best experience
Best experience. Did my CBT with them and my direct access. Extremely good bike service and the staff definitely knows what they are talking about.
Lovely bunch :)
Had a couple of tyres fitted to my bike, arranged with Shaun at the Pevensey branch. All sorted no problem - including my tyre pressure monitor (I know so many bikers whose TPMs have been damaged when changing tyres)! Met four of the Gedge team - what a really nice, knowledgeable bunch and 'proper' bike people. They also gave my bike a visual inspection which threw up a couple of relatively minor points, but good to know. No hesitation in recommending :)
Honda VFR repair - Excellent Service!
I took my Honda VFR to Gedges in Pevensey Bay to assess the cost of repair following a small accident. I arrived un advised and was immediately attended to by Shaun, who inspected the bike and provided a quote within 15 minutes in hard copy and by email (I was even given coffee in the meantime!). I accepted the quote two days later, the parts were ordered and the bike booked in for repair. I took the bike in and was lent a bike to use until mine was ready. The work was completed and I picked the bike up two days later.
The whole experience was seamless and painless, Shaun was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable - I will definitely be returning to experience such good service in the future
Poor customer service
Well where do I start, I started going to gedges many years ago (5 - 7 years) and at the beginning no problems, good with selling their bikes, however when it comes to getting jobs done on the bikes, they charge a lot and take a lot longer than most, I went into the place today to get my ECU updated as the garage that I had been going into doesn't have access to the triumph database. I told one of the guys what I needed, the owner then came down and asked me about the problem and I explained that there was power loss, i had the revalves done by another garage, which is where the owner was insisted on the other garage not having the tools and they wouldn't be able to afford it, I confirmed they had (this other garage is a really good place and definitely has all the tools) and the owner was being rude about this fact and said the other garage has taken on responsibility for the bike and they will have to deal with it, gedges will not do the ECU update as they will take the responsibility. Now this in itself I thought was extremely petty, all I needed was an update which is a plug in and update and they didn't say " I can just sign something to say they don't take responsibility " instead just brushed me off like I was in the wrong. I have felt betrayed by Gedges and over the years their customer service has been falling, I would encourage others to not get work done here, only to get a new motorbike if you wish to. Thanks
Great Service. End of!!!
Having been let down by another Honda dealer close to a large airport in the south of England, I called Gedge's in Pevensey Bay to book my bike in for an overdue service. The service I received on the phone was prompt, efficient and polite. I received the same service when I arrived with my bike and Id asked if my bike could be first in as I was going to wait for it. They were very accommodating and whilst I enjoyed a full English breakfast in a local cafe, the said bike service was completed. Gedge's is a family business and I would have no hesitation in recommended them to fellow bikers.
