Good unit, louder than expected, sale return policy is buried on their site

I bought a small-sized unit online in July 2023 because I'd read the reviews and they were largely good. I decided to buy it because you could customise the front panel colour and they indicated "30-day trial, 1 year warranty, easy returns" on their site. The unit arrived well-packaged and it was not difficult to install at all, just as they promoted. The unit was louder than I'd expected it to be- I installed it in my kitchen- so I decided to return it within one week of buying. I wrote to customer service and was informed sale items cannot be returned. This was news to me as I saw "30-day trial, 1 year warranty, easy returns" on their site. By they way, both the small and medium-sized units were, as of 26 July 2023, my date of purchase, on sale and there was no option to buy a unit that was NOT on sale. I asked the rep why they did not indicate their sale return policy on the site. At that same moment, I began searching the entire site to see if I could find their sale return policy. I finally found it buried within a link embedded within the "30-day trial, 1 year warranty, easy returns" statement on their site, and it was so small and ill-positioned, it seemed like they did not want anyone to actually see/find it. Also, there was no asterisk or "see details here" after the "30-day trial, 1 year warranty, easy returns" statement indicating more information could be found or that it was even a link. The rep then wrote, "Sorry this [policy] was not clear to you at checkout." There was NOTHING indicating sale items could not be returned on the checkout page and I have a screenshot to prove it. I'm sure it's a good unit aside from the louder-than-expected compressor noise. My low rating is mostly because I felt deceived and they did not prominently indicate their no-return policy for sale items. If there was no option to buy a regularly-priced item then they should have removed the "30-day trial, 1 year warranty, easy returns" statement on their site, since that only applies to regularly-priced items.
