I was honestly a bit concerned at first.

I was honestly a bit concerned after reading all the negative reviews, but my experience with K10 Mallorca turned out to be very good.

That said, I did take some precautions — and I would strongly recommend others do the same.

First, I declined their additional insurance. Instead, I arranged my own excess insurance in my home country, which was significantly cheaper (around €10 per day) and actually provided much broader coverage. This gave me the confidence to say no at the desk, especially since their own coverage still leaves quite a bit of exposure if you read the fine print carefully.

At pickup, they placed a deposit of €1300 on my credit card, which I expected. This was released back to me within a day after returning the car, without any issues.

I also made a full walk-around video of the car at pickup, clearly stating the date and time and documenting every scratch, chip, or imperfection. This took a few minutes but gave me complete peace of mind.

Because of these precautions, everything went smoothly. No unexpected charges, no disputes, and the car itself was perfectly fine.

So my advice: don’t blindly accept the extra insurance, get proper excess coverage yourself, and document the car thoroughly. If you do that, my experience shows that renting with K10 can be absolutely fine.

DON'T BE TEMPTED

Charged for damage that we hadn't done. Very unpleasant staff. DO NOT BE TEMPTED EVEN IF THEY ARE CHEAPER.

Car was very old. They clearly make money out of charging you for made up damages.

Very unpleasant staff when tried to advise that it was there when we collected the car.

DO NOT USE.

Zero stars for this rip off company

Zero stars for this rip off company . One of the worst experiences do not rent from K10 in mallorca ! They actively rip off any tiny damage by charging a standard 400+ euros for ANY size scratch mine was 10mm on the wheel rim 480 euros no quote nothing just automatically taken from the deposit .

Scams and excess damage charges

I’ve used K10 for a long time and always thought they were fair. However the management in Mallorca has changed, and they are now very actively scamming damages and aggressively targeting minor damages which were not previously noted on the report. When I queried this having used them for years they said - “this is a business, it’s our job to win money against customers”.

Never rent with K10.It’s a scam…

Never rent with K10.It’s a scam company.
They make money by excessive charge on damage. They look for damage. They will point something out the tiniest scratch and charge 685 euro for it. Never ever again.

Downright theft

If you don’t take their insurance they will go to great lengths to overcharge unreasonably. They charged me €288 per hubcap for two hubcaps on a fiat panda for scratches on them. A new hubcap costs about €50 euros. They don’t have evidence that these scratches weren’t there and say it was my responsibility to prove they were. This isn’t unstated in the law or in their contract. By chance I had a photo of the car with one wheel in sight which proved there were scratches on the one which proves their ‘damage report’ was incorrect.

Unreliable business practices and unfriendly K10…

I picked up a car from that company for my vacation in Palma. During the pickup process in the late evening, I was advised by the not friendly K10 staff to necessarily purchase an additional insurance policy for € 217 instead of a deposit as guarantee - I was told that my existing coverage did not include certain aspects like reimbursement of any damage at the car.
After reviewing my rental agreement in the hotel, I realized that it is absolutely not true what I am told and that I had already booked a full coverage insurance with my original reservation made through AURUM Cars, and that the additional policy was therefore unnecessary and overlapping.
I’ve sent a reclamation and a request to the customer service (of K10 and AURUM as well) to cancel the additional insurance and to receive a refund for the extra amount charged. And that I am of course willing to pay the usual security deposit as guarantee via credit card instead. This is what I always do when I rent a car.
No reaction at all by the Customer Service until today!

DON'T DO IT!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!

This is the worst service ever. First of all, you have to get a bus and ride 15min to go to the place where you have to get the car. This was so annyoing my wife and little baby had to wait an hour at the airport until I was back... It was super hard to find the bus even it was all the way behind the parking slots (had to call them twice since I couldn't find it and their english was super bad).

I booked via booking and paid with AMEX. When I wanted to get the car they wanted me to buy the full-insurance for 112€, which I did not want. But they forced me since they did not took my VISA for the deposit and also not my AMEX. So I had to buy the insurance, funny enough then I could pay the 112€ with my VISA :)))))))))

Then 2 months later get a fine from them without any evidences and they charged me another 90€. THIS IS SO BAD. I would highly recommend a good service like SIXT. If you think you are going to save money with the cheaper service, you are wrong trust me.

Don t trust any good reviews. That s fake reviews.
Never seen such a rental compagnie. Lost 1200 euros for nothing. Nothing. They will make you pay for invisible scratch, or imagined broken piece. They will make you paye without calling you, and they will block you to avoid any exchange.
Never seen such shame.

Bad Experience

Our experience with K10 Car Hire was awful. They hit us with numerous unforeseen and unrequested extra costs upon pickup that substantially inflated the initial price, such as charging for an extra driver (unrequested) and hence an extra U25 fee.

Their supposed 'premium' cover/insurance proved utterly worthless. When a minor incident occurred, K10 charged us hundreds of euros for damage we thought was completely covered. Additionally they did not offer to replace the car and we ended up paying for 4 days of service which we did not receive.

Only reason I'm giving 1 star is the car we did actually manage to drive during our holiday was fine.

Finally, their customer service is non-existent. We have attempted contact multiple times via email to resolve these issues, but every single correspondence has been completely ignored. Still waiting for a response....

DO NOT USE THEM

After reading reviews, I skipped past K10 when booking through Zest and decided to pay more for a Zest Recommended provider. Unfortunately they then gave me the booking through K10, I phoned up and spoke to someone and they assured me they hadn’t received any negative reviews with K10 when the extra coverage through zest recommended was purchased. So I went with it.

On arriving at Palma airport the instructions on where to pick the minibus up from wasn’t clear and just plain wrong. After walking around for 40 minutes, we eventually got pointed to the correct place but there was no K10 signs up and the carpark was a free for all, with numerous companies picking up from there with no official queue. Thankfully K10 turned up and there was only us in the bus, so that side of things was fine.

Then we arrived and got told the country doesn’t have facilities for electric vehicles that I had booked. They said that I could switch to a normal car but that would be £100 extra. Why they would hire electric vehicles and at least not have a warning is beyond me. I was told it would take the car 10 hours to charge and the only point to charge it is in Palma and not guaranteed. If it doesn’t come back fully charged there would be a very big fine. I asked how big it would be as they had taken a €130 deposit for fuel and he said he couldn’t guarantee it would be just that and it can be a very big fine because one of their staff has to go and take it to be charged. Eventually we gave in and paid the £100 to upgrade, as it wasn’t possible for us to be able to guarantee a full charge.

Once returning the car we found 5 electric points attached to the same collection building, this was not visible in the middle of the night so we didn’t see it. I was told this way only available for the company to charge. Not customers. I can half understand that but also we were lied to and really pushed panic that one of their drivers would have to take it to be charged off site and the fine would be lots.

On reading reviews since, many companies allow you to return electric vehicles empty, as they understand the infrastructure. K10 instead use it to scare you.

On top of that, they didn’t need any pre checks on the car for insurance. They said we had paid everything so it doesn’t effect us what state the car was in (it was fine, a few dents and scratches) however essentially they will build this up and then whack a bogus insurance claim through on someone when it gets too much. It’s a scam of a company, please do not use them. The reviews are this bad for a reason.

Poor attitude but nice car

Good: Car was good and in great condition. Shuttle service was quick.
Bad: Unacceptable attitude from the staff in this office, the moment you are not buying into their extra insurance offering (which I already had and didn't need), or an upgrade on the car you've already paid for then you get given the cold shoulder.

You WILL be pushed to purchase the insurance policy, this includes fearmongering, in an aggressive way. Got told to ensure that when I came back to return the car that I wasn't shouting because I'd lost £1500 on the deposit. That of course didn't happen as I returned the car as I got it.

Staff need to learn how to treat customers, you can advise people on the best products to take but it's simply unacceptable to become aggressive and rude when were not opting for it. Clearly upset that no upselling / commission is being recieved.

I've advised Zest that K10 does not align with their great customer service recognition awards.

Avoid where possible.

This is by far the most dishonest…

This is by far the most dishonest rental car company I have ever dealt with. They require the deposit to be paid with a credit card (not a debit card). If you don’t have such a card, they charge you €250, which you will never get back. Strangely, this €250 can be paid with a debit card – which clearly reveals the scam behind it.

We even had a Klarna credit card (which is not a debit card), but it was still rejected.

When I questioned this fraudulent policy, the employee Antonia told us to leave.

I will report this to the consumer protection authorities.

Avoid them at all costs – this is a scam.

Disappointed. Rude.

At the rental desk, the staff were equally unhelpful. When I mentioned I had my own insurance, I was told they “couldn’t care less,” and then got a long-winded lecture about all the ways I could lose my deposit. It felt like they were actively trying to discourage us from renting.

The only positive was the car itself — clean and reliable — but honestly, it’s not enough to make up for the poor service. I won’t be using K10 again

I would never use this company again

I would never use this company again. First they charged me a 150 EUR late pickup fee despite telling me over the phone it was fine for me to arrive at the rearranged time. Then when I dropped off the car, I was charged again 125 EUR for paint chips that other companies would write off as wear and tear.

Pickup/dropoff location is also not great, as it’s difficult to get to on public transport, and the free shuttle bus was oversubscribed. It’s also hard to ‘walk away’ from a bad deal when the forecourt is so remote.

The car itself was fine apart from being low on windshield cleaning fluid.

They’ve not responded to my direct request to put right the 150 EUR charge which I see as an admin mistake on their side followed by poor customer service when I came to the pickup.

Great car and service

I have had a lot of issues with different car rentals, but K10 ibiza was the best I have experienced in a while. We came with the boat from Mallorca and had the pickup place at the airport (i’m not the best planner). When we arrived we saw that the pick-up point was not at the Airport but a bit further and that we had to go by a shuttlebus. We decided to go to the stated address right away. This was not the pick-up point but another location. It was stated a bit weird in our voucher. Nevertheless the girl at the desk helped us and gave us one the cars available. It was a really new car Seat Aroba and was free of any scratches. We had a really good time and used it a lot. We paid 110euro’s for 8 days (SUV!). Once we delivered the car we had a scratch in the back of the car. We did not have a insurance with K10 so we had to pay 166 which was really fair. I got the money back from my own insurance. K10 employees were friendly and the car was really good. I would come back for sure.

Terrible service, fraud!

We always use Zest, want to be very clear I am happy with Zests service. How ever K10, no. Avoid at all costs. Tried to charge us for damage that was already on the car even though we had pictures of damage from when we collected. Absolute cowboys. We were told its ok because we have insurance through Zest and can claim it back, this is not ok! It is fraud on their part. I wonder how many customers they have done this too. We hire alot and have never had this happen. The man also kept touching me without my consent. Avoid Avoid Avoid.

Stay away

They forced to buy extra insurance, they gave me a car with no fuel, i returned it with more fuel, I asked them to refund, no answer. Also, the agency is not located at the airport, you have to find the shuttle that brings you to the agency which is hard to find.
