Kadabracon Reviews 

Since KadabraCon 2025 it has come out that the owner of this event owes celebrity guests from 2023 money, has been SUED by the venue used in 2024 for over $10,000 that wasn't paid for using the venue, and was even sued by the artist that created the original mascot/logo for the first year.
Signage has always been a problem. Vendors getting their products STOLEN has always been a problem since the event is always held in the same space as the night events. Communication is always a problem. And guests/performers keep getting their contracts broken by the owner.
Clearly the owner never learns anything since he has been saying the same thing every year how he'll improve the event. Nothing has changed and never will based on these patterns of behavior.

Hello my name is Parker. I am giving this one star review to talk about my experience with Kadabracon and the owner Kirk Woods. I attended Kadabracon in October, I went all 3 days to the con. When we first walk into the con we noticed it was small…very small. We didn’t think anything of it though because it was just starting in the con world. Due to the small venue everywhere was crowded, hardly any room to walk and even relax unless you went outside which this is October in Texas so it was hot out. One of the only other spots to really relax, touch up cosplays, and just step away from the crowds was the bathrooms. Since the venue was small there was only one men’s and one women’s restroom and no family restrooms (This is not the fault of Kadabra). On Saturday October 5th, my friend and I went into the women’s bathroom (to clarify I am a trans man and in Texas the “safest” bathroom for me is the women’s restroom). In the women’s restroom there is a lounge couch, many attendee’s through the weekend will relax on the couch due to the tight cramped space of the con itself. My friend and I went to relax on that couch and just talk for a little. We were just talking about anime for a little until an UNREGISTERED Volunteer (this is Kirk Woods title he claimed. I have screenshot email proof) came and told me that I had to leave. I got confused and asked why I did and she it was because she has received many complaints that a man was in the women’s bathroom peeping through the stall doors. Of course that was a big issue itself but it wasn’t so I clarified stating I am a transgender man meaning I was born biologically a female. At the time as well I was on a very low dosage of testosterone so my voice was not that deep and I was wearing a tight compression shirt and even with a binder my chest was still noticeable. I repeated that about 4 times through the whole interaction. I was even telling her Im not peeping through stall doors and I am far away from the stall doors and my friend and other cosplayers are witnesses to me doing such crime. I then asked her where I am to go then if i have to use the bathroom because in Texas it is definitely not safe for Transgender individuals to be in bathroom not assigned to the gender you assigned were at birth. She then told me she didn’t care and if its a problem to take this up with the director which was Kirk. I was starting to have a panic attack due to the interaction, embarrassment, as well as major body and gender dysphoria, so I left the bathroom. I did try to find Kirk that day but he was off running around doing multiple other task so I never got the chance to get to talk to him that weekend. I still attended that Sunday but only for a few hours and I didn’t even do much and just sat down outside or the gaming area and then asked my friends to leave because I was scared to use the bathroom there now. I already have bathroom PTSD due to me being trans so after that interaction I could not deal with it. I did have people come up to me both Saturday and Sunday who were in the bathroom or heard about talk to me about how it wasn’t right they kicked me out and it needed to be addressed. My friend decided they would reach out to Kirk and then make a post (with my permission of course and I said ok). Kirk was very dismissive with my friend and was harsh and even threatening a lawsuit for “defamation”. Soon after I made my post both on instagram and tiktok talking about my experience which got a lot of traction. Kirk the reached out to me on DM’s asking to talk so I gave him my cosplay work email to talk. We exchanged emails, me telling what happened and him trying to make excuses. he bounced between untrained volunteers, to then a VIP attendee and was unregistered. I addressed how this was unprofessional for a convention and even supported my claims with credible sites of conventions in Texas requirements and info. A thing that really stood out to me was the difference in tone from when he emailed my friend and then when he emailed me. He was more put together with me. I don’t support how hostile he was with my friend and then more mature in my email exchange. He did ask me to either take down my vide or correct myself with some wording which was in my original post I said volunteer but then changed it to an unregistered volunteer. Kirk has also taken down reviews on both the old trustpilot account and google reviews as well as facebook reviews to avoid conflict and not take accountabilities for his actions.

I am sorry this is long but this was my experience with Kadabracon. There was another trustpilot review site but Kadabracon took their home page down and made a new one so I had to say my review here to get word out on what happened with me at this convention. My voice will be heard. 🏳️‍⚧️
