Still not results since July

My gut results data to be emailed to me and I have received no responses. My original testing was completed in July and it has taken this long so unfortunately I don’t have the best review for your services.

A Reasonable Option for At-Home Human Metagenomic Analysis

Pros:
- Low Cost.
- Mostly acceptable classification results (as far as I can tell).

Cons:
- I think there is some room for improvement in the user interface.
- After changing from Psomagen to Kean, stool collectors were no longer provided with the kits.
- I am not sure how much it would help, but there have been studies to show post-collection growth can occur and there is no liquid to prevent it. The classifications were *not* extremely bad for my samples, but I would say there is room for improvement because there is no such liquid with sample collection.

Mixed:
- If I asked for raw FASTQ data, then it was always provided. However, it is not automatically provided for all customers.
- If you only purchase the Gut kit, then you don’t receive a table of classifications. Species classifications are only available with the Gut+ kit.
- It might improve over time, but I think there is some room for improvement in the web design for the return of results.

Unfortunately, I don’t believe that I can provide links or provide my name (making it difficult to a suggestion of a Google search to find the specific details). However, I would certainly be happy to provide the public links to Trustpilot, if asked to verify my experiences.

The outcome of each analysis leads to many unanswered questions

The outcome of each analysis leads to recommendations to consume certain foods, prebiotics, and probiotics that I am already consuming and have been consuming for years therefore any deficiencies I have are due to reasons other than diet and lack of supplementation. What those reasons are or might be is never explained or even alluded to.

Won’t deliver, dropped the conversation

My order was canceled for being a PO Box. They reached out asking for a street address, which I provided, then the order was canceled again because the street address was the post office, where I SAFELY receive all my packages. I wrote back with an explanation (this is a legitimate address provided by the postmaster and FedEx delivers to it ALL THE TIME), and….crickets. They have not reinstated my order, or even REPLIED. But they’d like a review. 🤷‍♀️

Scam

Scam. I registered for the VProject which states when you enroll you will receive a free gut biome study kit. Registered and then sent in my test kid on Jan 30. It is now April 12. Also beware. It Kean Health/Psomagen lists a US contact address but they are a S Korean company. So you are submitting your DNA to Korea. You can withdraw from the study but that is really meaningless. If you cancel the studies, they still get to keep and continue to use your DNA in the study.

Confusing results

I got my results but they are very difficult to understand what they mean. There are some explanations but it doesn't explain if it's good or bad. Like "you have lower than average of this bacteria" isn't helpful. I don't know what to do with my results, there needs to be an overview/action items summary for each person.

I forgot to register my test

I forgot to register my test. I emailed asking for help on how to proceed with getting my results. I never received a response. $150 for a test with no results:(

Sounded good in theory...

I ordered a kit and collected my sample. I could not activate the kit so I contacted customer service by email on Friday, January 14.
I was told that there were "technical issues" and to "be patient"and that someone would let me know when I could activate the kit. I never heard from anyone and therefore never sent the kit in.
Unfortunately it was a waste of money

The pamphlet mentioned needing to know…

The pamphlet mentioned needing to know details when registering my kit but the only questioned asked were DOB and gender, so I am not sure if my kit is properly registered.
