I have had my Keybird for a couple of months now, and have played two gigs with it. I hate playing jazz on electric pianos, and so this is (literally!) about the best thing I have ever bought.

The sound is a little idiosyncratic, but it's perfect for jazz. It sounds great when mic'ed up (just a single condenser mic pointing at the soundboard from behind is all you need). It just shines in the live environment.

Having a real piano on gigs where in the past this would have been impossible is a complete game changer for me. All the musicians I have played with loved it too – even the audience come over and want to talk about it.

Portability is really easy with two people. With one person it's possible but you do need to be strong and it's a little nerve wracking! I have made a simple wheelbase for mine, as I don't have anyone to help getting it out of my home to the car. At the gig of course there's always people to help so it's no problem.

Super happy with this little piano. I never even dreamt about brining my own acoustic piano to concerts.

Great company and communication. The piano is fantastic— it's magical to be able to take a real acoustic piano with me in my normal-sized car :)

This little piano is so charming! I enjoy playing it enormously. It took two of us to carry it into the house. It does come apart into two pieces but we didn't have to take it apart to bring it in. If you do take it apart push the little black levers to get the handscrews to reattach the key/hammer component. (ours shipped with them not attached and it took us a while to find that) It's easy to tune.

My toddler is totally captivated by the exposed strings and hammers. He got me out of bed last night to play the piano. Highly recommend. This definitely solves the problem of "I don't have room for a piano" !
