Awful half-baked product with terrible support.
Install on the device fine but adding a coparent device is pretty much impossible. Spend a significant amount of time with support but they are pretty much useless too and just offered canned responses rather than actually being helpful.
Excellent app with limitations.
PRO: Excellent In time allocation and blocking sites/apps..etc that many find harmful. I use it daily without an issue.
Cons: Annoying and Tedious to locate a desktop so that you can modify and/remove/add the devices. Had to reset the phone twice and every time it was a task and a half. My work use a similar concept to enroll my work device in a protection similar to this service all wirelessly.
App is as bad as the service
App is faulty, did not work at all. My device required a full reset every time I tried to use the app. They then wrongly charged my card and refused to refund me. Worst service I have ever experience.
Premium Kidslox
Please note this is for the premium service only but I find it great for apple iphones the kids use.
Pros: can lock down the device, set time limits, restrict apps, monitor locations, get notified of any suspicous browsing on nudity. also good online support.
Cons: the only hack that I've seen is my mischievous has deleted the VPN which can disable the app but you get notified and can revert easily. If they could change this then I would be 5 *
BAD NEWS for families on iOS - Horrible Support
We used this app for a year (over a year if you count the trial period), on our iPhones and iPads.
Pros: When it works, it's great. Blocks apps, logs kids out automatically when time finishes. Fairly easy to learn and use.
Cons: The list just keeps growing, but the WORST part is how unethical this company is. We were charged $80 for an auto-renewal, but I had literally just been going in to cancel the plan as we discovered it doesn't work on Chromebooks (we've just acquired two for homeschooling and plan to use those more than iPads). I contacted support to ask for a refund as we can no longer use it, and they refused to issue a refund. There is literally no other way to contact them, and they've ghosted me.
Other Cons: we are on iOS, but older devices. We were down to this app working on one device, as they don't allow updates on earlier iOS's. But even that one has so many glitches as to make it virtually useless.
- New apps don't show up in the list of apps to block/allow for weeks.
- Kids can turn off WiFi and viola--no time limits!
- Apple only allows this to work via a VPN, and won't allow it to block Settings or Search--smart kids can find all kinds of things we don't want them to.
- Virtually no customer service other than a chatbot and then very minimal response from live support
- Even on the parent device, every time I leave the tab/app while waiting on support to respond, I have to log back in when returning. Dumb.
This app has some potential, but needs major work to be worth the money they charge. And right now, they owe me $80, so they're not getting any more from me. I advise against it.
If you have iOS, this is not the app for you.
I bought the complete version of the app, spent 90$ dollars and have been using this app pretty much completely for a couple of years now. I've used it on 2 different iPhone models and 2 Android models. I installed all the advances features, and have used and tested extensively. I consider myself an advanced user of this product.
If you are an iPhone user, be aware that the Telescope feature, which allows you to see what your kid is doing on the phone via taking screenshots every 5 minutes (and is basically the only real useful way to monitor childs activity on phone), doesn't work on iPhone. They say that it does, but it's a sham.
Let me explain: on Android, you set Telescope up and it takes a snapshot of the phone every 5 minutes. You can then check later what your kid has done on the phone for that day.
BUT, on iOs, you have to "request" for Telescope to be on, and your child has to "approve" your request. What do you think you teenage child does in 100% of cases? They do NOT "approve" your request for screenshots. Obviously! It's like if you ask them "can I see what you are secretly doing on your phone?" Of course they are going to say "I'm not doing anything!!" This completely defeats both the purpose and the safety of remote monitoring: that of having a record of your child's actions on the phone. Say for example, they are messaging with an adult who is grooming them, what if they are watching violent porn that you disapprove of, what if they are engaging in risky behaviours. In the moment you have to ask their "permission" to monitor them, they can easily block it, or change their behaviour. The whole idea of remote monitoring as a deterrent, is if they know that you are (potentially) watching them all the time, they are less likely to engage in behaviours which are dangerous.
Obviously, kidslox says that "it's not their fault, Apple does not allow remote screenshots, security issues, yada yada yada. The reality is that this crucial function works great on Android and does not work at all on iOS. It's ridiculous to think that a parent has to ask a child to see his/her screen and that a child (or even more so a teenager) would concede that privilege. Which only lasts a while, because even 1 hour later, if the phone is off or on standby, the Telescope request would have to be activated again!!
We all know how much conflict and issues this can bring.
There needs to be an easy, stealthy, remote way for parents to monitor their child's or teen's phone activity, without involving or asking "permission" to the child.

Talked to Andrew inquiring about how to control what websites my daughter looks at on her desktop. Turns out Kidslox has a limited service for desktops and you cannot monitor anything. What? That's ridiculous. Had I know that, I wouldn't have paid all that money. I told Andrew how disappointed I was and he ignored me and never came back to the chat.
Worst decision ever
Worst decision ever. Tried to link to my childs i pad and it also took over my phone. When I cancelled it it still has control of my phone and I can't access any aps. Stay away from this app it is full of issues. On top of all it was super expensive compared to other choices.

I an not sure why there are so many negative reviews, but on our end, the app works perfectly great. We have the premium subscription and use it to manage the iphones of our 2 children. Customer service is also great as they reply quickly if we encounter any issues.
Worst app and worst customer service in the world!! DO NOT subscribe or pay 1 cent for it!!!!
The worst app and worst customer service ever! DO NOT subscribe or pay one cent!!!
They charged me 35 USD for a premium subscription that I never asked them to renew and when I contacted the customer service (after 5 minutes from my credit card being charged 35 USD) to tell them that the subscription was renewed without my consent and I don't need the app anymore, they refused to refund the money and told me it is not our fault you forgot to cancel your subscription.
On top of that, the app itself is a scam and doesn't work as it is advertised!
This app is absoloutely horrific
This app is absoloutely horrific. The company should just delete it permenantly. Lots of Bugs. It blocks thing that I did not want to block. It tries to rearange the phones settings. And its almost impossible to set up and delete. Absoloutely Horrific. Terrible, Nonsense, Rubbish. TAKE DOWN THE APP RIGHT NOW. Rubbish, Nonsense. I hate it. absoloutely hate it.

Awful tracking and not up to date like most other tracking apps!
The app is full of bugs
The app is full of bugs. It hasn't been working on my child's device for 3 weeks. I paid for a year! I requested a refund, they just send the instructions that do not work and never refund the money. Scammers!

Its a basic app to monitor your child's screen time. If you want to control how much access your child has to their phone then it's OK. I struggled to download the advanced settings and then read it messes up the phones so I gave up.
I have a decent understanding with my daughter so she doesn't do anything I don't agree with or I take the phone away completely.
It's not the best, more like a starter management app when they 1st get a phone to understand boundaries. If u want complete ctrl then this isn't the right app as the advanced version has so many glitches and the basic version is sometimes delayed and glitches too. Sometimes asks for you to reset your child's phone at a time the kid is not near you. Which isn't helpful. I just use to manage manage screen time, WhatsApp and Internet access.
This app is awful
This app is awful. Near on impossible to set up. Customer service is rubbish.... STAY CLEAR. It looks great until you go to install the advanced features that you pay for. Very annoying.
Avoid - find some other tracking app!
This is probably the worst app I have ever had the displeasure of using. Kidslox wont tell you until after you've downloaded and installed that there is a glitch between the app and phones which cause problems for the children's phones. After changing the phone from 'lock' position back into 'child' mode, all apps will move back into alphabetical order... and screw your phone up. So, the order your child is used to with their apps is no longer meaning safety features on their phones are not easy to find. Defeats part of the object of Kidslox. If the kids are out and their phone goes into lock mode and then they can't find safety features on their phone... 🤷🏼♀️ Deleting the app from phones is even harder. I get why but even for the adult controlling the app. I managed to do it in the end after 5 requests for help and the same again to delete the account (which you can't do without Kidslox assistance to complete deletion!). Horrendous app. Avoid.
I would like my refund
I'm having issues with this company. I requested a refund on this recent transaction of $5.99. The giving reasons were I didn't get the service that was promised and also since I didn't get those services that were promised, the services were not even used. I canceled it and I politely asked their customer service for a refund. The charge only $5.99. The customer service rep was unhelpful and seemed passive aggressive towards me in the email and I didn't like that.
