They messed me up. Make me 60 days late for payments when I wasn’t 60 days late. There the only company on my credit report with late payments but yet they are suppose to be helping people with their credit. A true scam

Its a great idea. Marketing is pointed to ppl who are struggling finically. Makes it seem like you are going to get a loan. And you do. What they don't tell you is you can only use the loan to buy their credit councling services. So they loan you the money and you buy their services. Once you buy one of their services you are on the hook to pay that money back. So you get the loan but they keep the money and then only allow you to spend it digital books about credit. Its a great scam. They loan you money you never get which makes your credit even worse. But they supposed to be helping fix your credit. But the goes against your score and you can onky buy their services. So money never goes in your hand. Unless you open a secured credit card. And that's even more money out of your pocket. And they only report to the credit reporting companies after 12 months.

They do not give your money back or they didn't mine. Dont waste your time with this hogwash!

This company is a rip off. It does not help your credit improve. It just monitors your credit. You pay $20 a month for it to tell you the exact same thing as credit karma, and you don't have to pay for credit karma. You do not get any of your money back at the end of the year if you use the basic line. Read the fine print carefully.

Buyers beware, kickoff requires you to permanently life the freez of your credit report. And when you deactivate your account with them they keep your information on file for 7 years to do with as they wish to third party vendors.

I read so many good reviews but unfortunately kick off was not what I needed. It did not help build my credit at all. To me it seemed more like a scam because I paid monthly for information I already knew.

I don't have to explain what went wrong this time, nothing if you were honest with the public. Upheld your part of this agreement and actually let me and those of us that no longer want your services, to be able to cancel any or all services, subscriptions, etc. to have that option, and get you out of my life and bank account.

I’ve used kickoff several times, and I like the convenience of saving smaller amounts, but getting bigger benefits and to helped boost my credit.

I see most people have a good experience, so this review isn't to deter anyone from trying or using them, it's just my personal experience.
I didn't really understand how to use it and thought it was something you make payments to and they report those payments as tied to a certain amount, I think it was 1200 or 2500 or something, I can't remember, it's been a while. I thought if I make the payments they report, and if I don't they just stop reporting, since they weren't actually lending me anything. I have never did anything other than make payments to them.
I had it set up for auto-pay, but the payment days were rarely consistent and some days I wouldn't have the funds available. It was always all over the place, and that was confusing. I turned off auto-pay, and I literally had one payment left out of the amount I had agreed to pay for them reporting. After turning off auto-pay I forgot about the account. My fault, but today, when I checked my credit report I see I have a negative inclusion from Kikoff, but it says I owe $60, and my payments were only $20.
While I was using their service I had to call them multiple times because they would charge me twice for the same month, and then explain that it was actually from a previous month that didn't go through, even though my bank account would show the amount taken. They refunded me twice because of that. My complaint is more so about the inaccuracies and inconsistencies based on what I went through with them. I'm a little surprised to see it on my report, but more surprised to see that they charged me an extra $40. I can't say it's a scam, it's just confusing and that's all I got while using them, confusion. Ironically I used their service to improve my credit, and they are literally the only negative thing I have on there, lol. It is what it is.

Be very careful using Kikoff as a “credit-building” product.
I opened a Kikoff account specifically to build credit. On my account, two payments were missed due to an expired payment method and notifications that were not effectively delivered.
As soon as I became aware of the issue, I immediately brought the account current and paid ahead to ensure it would not happen again. Despite correcting the issue right away and keeping the account in good standing, Kikoff refused any goodwill or reporting accommodation and reported the late payments to the credit bureaus.
What’s disappointing is that Kikoff markets itself as a credit-building company, yet offers no flexibility or proportional consideration even when issues are corrected immediately. Support repeatedly cited “FCRA requirements,” despite the fact that furnishers do have discretion when it comes to goodwill adjustments and reporting updates.
I escalated the issue through customer support, executive contacts, and the CFPB, but Kikoff chose to stand by rigid reporting with no accommodation, even though the impact was severe and disproportionate for a small credit-builder account.
If you use Kikoff, understand that minor issues can have long-lasting credit consequences, and you should not expect meaningful support or flexibility if something goes wrong — even if you fix it immediately.
I would not recommend Kikoff to anyone looking for a genuinely consumer-friendly credit-building experience.

Please don’t use this to help fix your credit. I started my kickoff account in 2022 .. I never seen anything change … I started paying $5 and as of last year of November I closed my account because they went up to $20 without me knowing. They ended up putting a collection on my account saying I owe them $220. I never got a credit card or loan with them. I called twice to make payments towards it. They have denied me both times.. please stay away from them 🗣️
