If I could give 0 stars, I would! I can't speak to the vacuum itself but the sales practices are horrendous. My husband and I are working from home and answered the door to the Kirby salesmen. They gave us a free bottle of soap and said that they "weren't here to get us to buy anything, and just wanted to hear our honest opinion about their product". Thinking it was some kind of survey, my husband let them in. NEVER AGAIN. They walked all the way into the house to the living room and started to do a whole demonstration. When it got to about 30 minutes in, my husband had to tell them that we had to get back to work. The salesman seemed disappointed and said he'll just pack up. He called his boss to inform him, then asked us if we wanted to buy the Kirby. We asked how much, and he told us $3600. We said no thank you, and he asked for the bottle of soap back!! So our time was wasted plus we didn't even get this small free item that was given to us 'just for letting them in'. Don't let these people inside.

2 men came knocking on our door trying to sell a vacuum cleaner, trying to ask for coffee and using toilets without needing to go so must of been a delayed response, also broke our door handle to the toilet, very rude, told them to leave 6 times and finally threaten to call the police they left shortly after, I would never contact this company and never let them inside your house

My vacuum cleaner is a old kirby probably about 50years old & it's super powerful way better than the Dyson & Shark c@!p you get now that just lose suction straight away.
My kirbys suction is so powerful you need two hands. Best part is they always make the parts for a life time so no problems fixing or replacing broken parts etc

Had kirby homecare servicing many years now and only ONCE have they arrived to complete a maintenance check on the first arranged date and time. Excuses like our engineer is:
Sick, van broke down and family emergency. The kirby machine is probably the best machine on the market but unfortunately, their customer care service is diabolical.

People who sell this product în my country are harrassing other people, calling them over and over again, even if they receive a negative response. They are unproffesional, agressive, they ilegale use our contact information and we cannot stop them calling!

We fell into the high pressure sales tactics to buy a Kirby costing us £1000 in late 1980s in Kent. It involved the salesman asking to hoover a square patch on the carpet using ours. The modus operandi was to put a black cloth into his demo model run it over the same patch to see what Kirby picked up. Then, asked to strip the bedding leaving just the mattress cover. Ran the “magic” Kirby with a shorter handle to show the dead skin, enough to persuade it is a “must” for cleaner healthy living. About 10 years later, another Kirby salesman managed to impress us about the Jubilee model showing its advanced design and features in Berkshire and bought it, paying £1000 !
Both of us long retired and settled in West Wales, had a Kirby salesman to service our two machines in 2022. He too was very pushy to say the least with an attitude problem! We had the same chap calling in today to service the two Kirby hoovers arranged through their Office. He stripped the old one first as it needed some attention though still working. Replacement parts worked out to £147 (possibly with VAT on top), Jubilee model needed 2 small parts costing £74 (possibly with VAT to be added on to the final bill. All these on top of a £96 and £36 for carrying out the servicing ! I took exception to his lecturing and dismissing wholesale what I have read about Kirby’s business tactics ! I ended up speaking with a patient and tidy Manager who took note of what I had to say ! Lessons learned, I would never ever have another Kirby salesman in our house !

we just had couple sales people here to show us the carpet cleaning and they didn't say originally there here to sell a product . and supposedly the manager of the area where I live and cause we were after carpet cleaner not a product and cause we said we wernt interested before the free example they were going to show, and when they left all I heard he was whinging and Complaining after being 2nhalf hrs late from appointment and then proceeded to yell and threaten me and yelling I know where u live as a threat. told him to get lost after being rude and pushy to my elderly parents after appointment was 12pm and turned up 14.30. how do they expect any respect and get any business if they treat all customers like that

Got a chance to try (clean with) Avalir2 and have to say that it is a complete disaster. Materials are very bad, and you can clearly see Kirby was saving.

But I suggest to buy older versions on the market - G5, G6, ULTIMATE G, and Diamond Edition. You can get it for $200 with all the equipment. These models are high quality and will last forever.

This product is expensive and not good… please don't let them in in your home even it is recommended by your friends or relative… this is a scam product…there’s no point actually this review because kirby will not entertain any of our issues… they are scammers… read reviews before buying this product… and think a million time of buying it…don’t be impulsive of the offers of the installments…the worst is u cannot return even its just less that 12 hours…

I bought a KIRBY AVALIR 1 in August 2018 for R28 000 , I was sold this machine under the impression that I can use it for commercial use , I used it for a period that was less than a year and its been sitting since even though I would service it.

Kirby is not a user friendly machine and none of the resellers are willing to buy back the machine for the retail price that its going for.

Today I found a reseller who informed me that, I was ripped off for paying R28 000 for a KIRBY AVALIR 1 in 2018 because that is the going price currently for a KIRBY AVALIR 2.

He further said he was willing to buy my Kirby for R2000 and confessed that its hard to resell a Kirby machine.

Key take aways : The machine is not user friendly , its heavy and lastly none of the resellers are willing to buy it for the price they are selling it for.

Kirby is misrepresented.

I was recommended for this free sofa/carpet cleaning with a kirby product. The guy came in with street shoes while the cleaning lady was still cleaning the floor. The demo vaccum cleaner was filthy and the accesories were full of dirt. He was trying to convince me that all the dirt collected on a white filter was from my couch, but then he replaced the white sheet and I just put my hand in front of the vaccuming hose and waited and the white sheet still collected dust. So... I am not convinced that what he was trying to say it was dirt from my couch wasn't, in fact, dirt from the vaccum and all the accessories.
Moreover, on my new child mattress he put hist filthy vaccum, letting 2 brown spots where the dirty wheels stayed. That was the moment when I got so angry and ask him to stop and go away.
I calmy refused his pushing techniques of selling, although he insisted multiple times, so he finally got away, disappointed.
After reading all these reviews, I will stick with my beloved Miele.

It cost me over 4 grand for this kirby vacuum cleaner yes it was OK till it got stolen month later and I couldn't get a replacement nothing in return. 4 grand wasted on this damn machine and I still had to pay it off for 3 years. Never again will I ever trust a doors salesmen. Was 3 years ago.

I love how the Kirby Avalir 2 got the dust of my fly screen. Also how it got the dirt that was deep down in my carpet I was really surprised my the amount that came out. Also I was really happy how it got my rug clean as. Plus the sale person was really friendly.

Had 2 people door knock on my door. The man was extremely pushy and forceful with his words. I asked to be contacted the following day to book in a time and day to which the man attempted to book in a time that afternoon or following day. The next day he then turned up to my house and entered my house without my consent and attempted to complete the clean even after I had asked them to leave multiple times.
Would not recommend their service, they are very aggressive and rude!

I bought a kirby vacuum cleaner some months ago and I hate it. It's heavy difficult to manoeuvre and after I vacuum I have to go over the carpet with my stick LG to pick up all the bits it missed. I am disgusted and angry . I'm still paying it off and very disappointed. Don't buy one, not worth $2 let alone over $4,000.

I bought a second hand Kirby Ultimate G Diamond Edition manufactured in 2004 about 6 years ago. The machine had a shampooer and all the attachments. I live in Australia and got a company from Toowoomba, QLD to come down and service it for me. Skip did such a good job going through the system and his passion for the product is second to none. I still have a fantastic vacuum 20 years from manufacture. I use my Kirby vacuum every Saturday for about 3 hours, I use the shampoo unit regularly to get rid of stains and just to refresh the smell within the room. I couldn't speak highly enough of this product.

Door to door salesman came to my door advertising free cleaning of one area to "get his quota", I got talked into cleaning my entry carpet. He came back a minute later with another guy and had about 6 boxes they threw around my house, then started cleaning. He made some phone calls during, took down my address and first name and presumably got his point for the cleaning. He had to unpack every single item and show me all the attachments. It took a while but I started to show I was not going to buy and was grumpy and eventually offered to help him pack up and put everything outside. The agent took this hint pretty well. I assume if his partner had picked up the call he would be on the way back to pressure me into a sale. I also started looking up reviews saying they can rob you while you go to another room to pick things up for them, which I did. I don't think they took anything of value, I hope I am correct. Overall I didn't buy anything but they broke my flower pots and spilled things so now my floor is dirtier than before and didn't clean it up.

Your company had door to door marketing about 15 years ago. I was 5 years old around that time and you showed me and my family a big ass picture of a bed bugs on your presentation and it scarred me for life! I didn’t know that bed bugs exist and this definitely isn’t a way for a child to learn about them! Shame on you, you need to pay for my therapy now because I’m deathly afraid of ANY bugs because of you!

I purchased a vacuum cleaner 20yrs ago, at a cost of £1000 12 months later they serviced it at a cost more than servicing my car. Twelve months after the service they produced an "upgrade" better than the one i had, and i would get it at a discount for trading in my old one (2 yrs old). I wised up to their devious sale patter and swiftly told them to go away and not bother me again. Would not leave me alone annoyingly ringing me every few months. One such call ended with me shouting abuse down the line, it then stopped. Unbelievably after 10 yrs of peace they have started again talking over me and being downright rude. Do not let them near your home, your life will be made HELL.
