Multiple good experiences

I have bought multiple pet rats from this breeder, alle with good experiences. They could inform me in detail how their breeding process works and how they keep track of all their pets.
All the pets I bought here were hand trained and tame. It was clear that these people care for animals and their wellbeing.
Would definitely recommend!

Super helpful staff

Super helpful staff, not pushy and patiently answered all of our questions. The business location was clean and the animal enclosures very well tended.

nice shop, expert staff

Being a beginner in rodent care, it was great to receive expert advice. We could get all information and equipment to get started. The 2 gerbils are very friendly and active, and we have a lot of fun with them. It is interesting to discover the differences in their personality.

Negative experience.

We had a really negative experience, where one of the employees shouted at my children. Instead of having a constructive reply, the owner decided to respond with personal attacks. As I am undoubtedly sure he will do the same in his response here too.

I hope no one else gets the same experience, I would like to urge you to look for other establishments, there are really great, friendly, helpful and better places to go to all over the Netherlands. We decided to not want to go to a petshop and wanted to support a breeder. We luckily got help somewhere else.

Horrible experience, and horrible abuse from the owner in responding to what I thought would be an honest open review.

06-02-2021: In response:
I think the personal attacks and level of feedback you gave, being the owner and not even present in the shop when this was occurring, and basing your response on the feedback from the person that the complaint and review was about, shows the level of quality and interest of your clients.

Instead of reaching out to me, you decided to do the personal attack. My kids were not unruly, and if a kid friendly establishment cannot understand an excited child wanting to pick out his first pet in a foreign country, and have young staff shout at said child, instead of saying it is disruptive, then in my humble opinion maybe you should put up a notice to say no kids allowed. There was no indication that it was a hindrance until your staff member walked up to my children to shout at them aggressively and clearly irritated. It had very little to do with painting me as a bad mother, and had your staff member asked me, I would have taken my children to the car while I was being shown cages.

I am quite curious how my knowledge of a recommended cage shows my ignorance about animals? That was what you were trying to imply? Firstly we bought cages for dwarf hamsters, and I am not sure how you magically know the measurements when neither your staff member nor I could find it in the description. I looked at the invoice when we were at the other establishment and it was specified on the invoice. 40 X 50 and a separate detachable section and tunnel to a wheel and measurements of 40x30cm. And as mentioned, I was willing to immediately buy cages online on YOUR webshop to get the right cage. We in any way bought new cages at the place we received the hamsters from.

Class act response! I would for no love or money ever recommend your establishment.

Have a lovely day!

Hi Natasha,

Instead of trying in other words to explain the situation from our point of view, I will instead just paste the answer that we have given you already.

We're very sorry to hear that you did have a negative experience at our store. Please allow us to elaborate some of your comments, since we do not agree with all of them.

Firstly, you said that we shouted at your children. We did ask your children to calm down, since they were very busy and the children weren't even listening to you asking them to stop. It is ofcourse easy to suggest that this is ridiculous, but we think it is a bit weird if a mother is not looking after her own children when they are in a building that isn't theirs. Exactly because of this, we thought it would be appropriate to address your children directly.

Secondly, regarding your cage - it was far too small. The minimal size of a cage for dwarf hamsters we advise is 60x40cm. You had a cage that measured 40x30cm. This is not a 10cm difference and is far too small. You then claimed that we forced you to buy a cage from our store, but this is not true either. We never force visitors to buy a cage from us and we are always very happy to receive them another time if they want to buy a cage somewhere else. In addition, we like to point out that when someone books an appointment with us, we refer them to licg.nl, where they can read more about getting pets. As is clearly said in the confirmation mail, we expect visitors to be aware of minimal sizes for cages. The fact that you were not aware, only tells us that you did not really care about informing yourself.

To conclude, obviously, the cages we keep hamsters in during opening hours, aren't their usual cages. These are only used when we are receiving visitors. When we are closed, the hamsters return to their own (ofcourse appropriate) cages.

Best regards,

Kleinvee Fokkerij
