KODA Shop Stool - the hardware is no good

Just today bought UPC: 8-40005-32518-6 Shop Stool at COSTCO and was assembling it. The heads came off a few of the round-head bolts (for the foot rest)... NO: not over tightened! (I'm a design engineer and know better than to do that.) Wow - just lost any good score I might have otherwise afforded this "manufacturing" company.
Now I have to go out again, spend more money, and buy some REAL hardware, and rebuild after I spend time removing the "cheap-a$$" hardware. I'm going to replace all the hardware with stainless bolts and lock-nuts.
Pi$$es me off everything is so shoddily made these days... If a given product is going to take wear and tear it NEEDS TO HAVE APPROPRIATE HARDWARE!
Even weekend DIY-ers know that... So what the h*ll is up with the crappy hardware KODA? First time buyer - but due to the poor experience I certainly won't be buying anymore KODA products.
