I ordered an item believing the price…
I ordered an item believing the price shown at checkout was the full cost. After ordering, I was emailed asking to pay an additional £17 delivery fee, which was not made clear at the point of purchase. I messaged on the 23rd explaining that I wouldn’t have placed the order had this been disclosed and asked either for delivery at the agreed price or a refund. I received no response.
Despite this, delivery was attempted on the 24th. As I hadn’t been told I’d need to pay extra at the door, I couldn’t accept the parcel. This meant my husband was left without his gift, which was very upsetting and avoidable.
The lack of communication is disappointing. I’m still awaiting a response and a resolution (I’ve requested a full refund). I hope this can be resolved promptly.

Be prepared for self assembly- including drilling
I ordered a Shinrai Knives - Magnetic Knife Block Double Sided - Acacia Wood which arrived very quickly ( even though it travelled from the Netherlands to the UK which wasn’t obvious when I ordered). I was very happy with the delivery time - well in time for Christmas as this was a gift for my husband. However, when he opened it on Christmas Day we found that the base and board were not connected and a screwdriver and three screws were supplied. This wouldn’t have been a problem except that only the base had pre- drilled holes to screw in to. The very solid magnetic board had no pre drilled holes so this was going to be quite a DIY task with risk of damaging the board. I emailed KookGigant who replied quickly but told me that it is a three minute job to build the board and that “the description does not state that the product arrives pre assembled”. One would assume however, that, unless otherwise stated drills and associated tools ( e.g a vice to hold the board while drilling) would not be necessary.
I sent a photograph illustrating the problem ( no pre drilled holes on the knife board) but was told that was as it should be and though I could return the item it would be at my own expense… shipping a heavy item back to the Netherlands would not be low cost.
We decided to cut our losses and have a go at drilling and screwing by borrowing a vice etc from a neighbour. Thankfully this worked and we are now happy with our knife board.
Just be prepared though if you do order this, self assembly, including drilling and some means of holding a solid board still and steady will be needed.

Excellent customer service
I ordered a set of three Shinrai Damascus knives for my brothers birthday. Unfortunately, the knives arrived late, delivered by UPS. I was in regular contact with the company, who promptly responded to my emails. I expressed how disappointed I was, and within a matter of hours of my emailed complaint, they dispatched two additional knives as a gesture of goodwill.
It is rare these days to receive such good customer service, so I’m more than happy to recommend KookGigant. I’m absolutely delighted with the razor sharp Shinrai Damascus knives.

We recently purchased a Cook & Pan pot from Kook Gigant in Apeldoorn and had an excellent experience.
The staff were very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the differences between the products and helped us choose exactly what we needed.
The store offers a great variety of high-quality kitchenware. The Cook & Pan pot we bought feels very solid, has excellent heat distribution, and looks stylish in the kitchen.

After two weeks still waiting for my…
After two weeks still waiting for my order, contacted the customer service several times but no solution. The product is showing online to be delivered in 1-3 days but the customer service keeps saying its a pre-order, the product has arrived and they would start shipping soon. Still nothing happening.
Would not recommend this shop at all. They may have quality products maybe but not serious enough, really bad customer service and nothing as promised.

One of my glasses shattered when I took it out of the box. The other one appeared to have a defective bottom. It wobbled a little instead of sitting flat.
