Absolutely Appalling Service - Avoid at all costs

Absolutely Appalling Service – Avoid at All Costs

I wouldn’t recommend Nick King or Kingdom Plumbing Services to my worst enemy. We hired him for a £11,500 renovation, expecting professional service and basic competence. Instead, we experienced shocking levels of deception, damage, and unprofessional conduct.

From the start, Nick’s work was riddled with mistakes, each more costly than the last. He drilled large holes into our walls, damaged ceilings, left a huge hole in our hallway, and even destroyed parts of our gutter. The worst part? He attempted to charge us extra to fix his own mess! His "workmanship" left us with leaks, broken walls, a sagging ceiling, and countless repairs we’re now forced to pay for out of pocket.

It didn’t stop there – Nick tried to con us into paying £3,000 for a 'dry rot repair' on a joist, claiming it was essential work. After spending more money on inspections, three builders and a dry rot specialist confirmed there was no rot or damage! This was, in my opinion, an outright attempt to scam us.

He was supposed to hire a qualified electrician for our spotlights. Instead, he decided to do it himself without any certification, ignoring building regulations and putting us at risk. And the state he left our home in was just appalling – dirty handprints everywhere, piles of rubbish, and even waste left at our neighbour’s property!

Do yourself a favour: if you value your home and your sanity, avoid Kingdom Plumbing Services. We’re now in the process of legal action, which speaks volumes about our experience.

Total disappointment. Poor workmanship and a total failure to rectify the reported issues.

Admittedly, we were impressed by Nick as a person when he quoted to install a very expensive wet room for our frail elderly stepfather. He seemed knowledgable and trustworthy, promising to complete the work himself. Also to return to sort any issues.

Our experience was quite the opposite. The work was undertaken by a variety of personnel and completed whilst we were on holiday and unable to check the workmanship. Our 81year old stepfather- who had just recovered from covid and was recovering from a fall, which had caused severe facial injuries - was put under pressure to pay the full amount for the work immediately. Unfortunately, he did so! This was in late February 2022.

On return from holiday, We reported the full list of issues to Nick by email/text/what’s app and included photographs.

As Nick had just suffered a knee injury we were extremely patient in waiting for the errors in workmanship to be rectified. We requested updates to no avail.

We have tried in earnest to seek a resolution but despite Nick’s initial assurance to return to sort any issues, he has failed to sort the key elements that have not been installed in accordance with manufacturers guidelines- some issues are unsafe and potential safety hazards. To date - some 6 months after “completion” the main problems remain.

Nick continues to ignore our requests for help/assistance and he has failed to provide updates on timescales for a resolution to the problem.
