My pressure cooker while it works good the seal leaks after a few months use and the trivet tray would be much better if it had handles to lift out your food

I had purchased a Crepe pan, and after using it for a few months, I found a fault in the coating of the pan. I reported it to the consumer service with photo evidence. I received the replacement pan without any issues. Excellent service and highly recommended.

Contacted customer service yesterday after an age authentication failed online and we were going round in circles with the process , the lady who we spoke to authorised the transaction and said we would get a email to confirm the transaction, all good so far until we asked if she would stay on line until we received the email to which her voice tone changed and said “ I don’t have time for that, I’m too busy !!“ , we came off the phone and was shocked by such a rude response, we understand it maybe a busy time but she was surely at some point given training by the company on how to speak to customers when your job is customer service?, first and last order we will be making .

I had an issue with my pressure cooker base delaminating I was not sure how long I had had it so sent in pictures, I had a reply the next day and it turned out to be almost 16 years old.
whilst disappointed this had happened I was impressed with the prompt reply and service so ended up buying a new one with the current discount on sale.
thanks to Vikkie for your assistance.

I purchased my Duromatic pressure cooker many years ago and when it needed replacement parts I looked to Kuhn Rikon for them. How refreshing to be able to purchase parts and ask for it to be serviced in the disposable world we live in. The service was completed within a week of them receiving the item and it is now on its way back to my kitchen! Vikkie Peer has been a joy to communicate with! Thank you Kuhn Rikon, you have a customer for life!

Super quick delivery and amazing customer service! Jackie, the advisor I spoke to, was so patient while I called my mum to double-check which parts she needed for her old (pre-1998) pressure cooker. She was really friendly and made the whole process easy. The website’s also super simple to use — especially for finding spares. Honestly, 5-star service all around. Keep it up, Kuhn Rikon! 👏

I wanted to change all my pans and purchased a set of Culinary 5 Ply saucepans and a set of Frying pans. The order was accepted and the delivery was prompt but immediately noticed on the boxes ‘Made in China’ as most things are nowadays. On inspection of the goods They appeared to be of a good quality.I washed the pans as recommended and stored them in the pan drawer,However when I used the small pan to boil some potatoes when drained and coated in butter I noticed the base of the pan had a stain mark which I can’t remove, the same has happened with one of the frying pans,I’ve sent a e.mail with photos to them but to date I have had only an automated response.I will give them till the end of the week before ringing
Pressure cooker uses flimsy plastic, failed after maximum of 15 uses.
Contacted support and they offered to replace cheap plastic parts. Said "we cannot understand your concerns about durability".
The pressure control mechanism fell apart and exposed cheap thin and flimsy plastic. Very poor engineering.
DO NOT BUY. All stainless steel versions widely available for 25% of the Kuhn price, and will likely last two lifetimes - not 2 years!
Useless customer service. No response to any of the suggested ways of getting help with a product. Products are not cheap and don't rely on a customer service. Avoid.
Delivery very quick, however quality very poor. It was a saucepan set of 3, plus a small non stick milk pan (which is fine). The stainless steel saucepans discoloured (blue hue) after the first use. The glass straining lids are a pain to clean as there is a ridge around the inside which collects debris and is very hard to get out. The final straw was the glass lid shattering when poaching an egg!
My 40 year old Meyer saucepans are still better than these!
Tried to put an order for 4 days. Payment system not working. Customer service response very slow.
Swiss design but made in China, my saucepan changed colour after first use, I red online that is normal but looks terrible for that price.
I emailed them but still waiting for respond.
Ordered an Allround Frying Pan direct from the company in November 2024 and in December had to complain that after just 2 uses the pan had become dicoloured and badly stained on the outside edge. I sent photos of the stains to Kuhn Rikon customer services who said the marks are caused by oil being on the outside of the pan and becoming discoloured when it has become heated. They advised me to soak the pan and gently scrub or use lemon juice/vinegar with a little baking powder as an abrasive. I did all these thing and even washed the pan in the dishwasher, but to no avail.
I reported back to Rikon who asked me to return the pan in its original box for inspection. However, I had already recycled the box.
To cut a long story short, after weeks of trying to find a suitably sized box and also trying to make one up from cardboard, I gave uo the ghost and decided to put this review online instead.
To encounter this problem after just 2 uses is totally unacceptable. I have never come across this problem with other cheaper pans and have come to the conclusion the quality of the pans is not what it is made out to be. I will not buy this brand again. In conclusion my experience of dealing with customer services was not a good one.
I am unable to comment on the quality of their saucepan sets that I received.
Their website lead me to believe I was looking at their Black Friday offers early , we all know about Black Friday and the sometime non offers . So I proceeded to purchase , delivered rapidly no complaints .
Black Friday arrives so I thought I would check , cheaper still , contact customer services requesting differential given what their web pages had previously claimed .
No was the reply , now actually we are not talking about a huge difference maybe ten pounds . Ok collect the product and I will purchase elsewhere from another manufacturer , which they have , the economics of the madhouse , clearly it has cost them to have them returned , then a small amount to re stock , and if they could sell them anyway at a lower price why lose a customer ?
Never mind , corporate businesses are often run by automatons these days and then can’t understand why they eventually go out of business and of course my standalone order is not important , but collectively small things add up to big problems .
Ordered a pan. On their website, it's said their products were "Swiss design, Swiss made". However, when the pan arrived, there's "Made in China" on the box. Checked the bottom of the pan, just "Swiss design", no mention where it's made. Misleading information on their website, or "lie by omission"?
I have used a pressure cooker for 35+ years. It was time to upgrade from my 35+ year old prestige 7.5L aluminium pressure cooker to a stainless steel one. We're a family that sticks to what we know and buys for longevity so purchased the same brand but this didn't bode well. Cheaply made and faulty from the get go. So went back to the drawing board and finally purchased a Kuhn Rikon Duromatic Inox set comprising of 4L & 8L x 24cm, 1 x trivet and 1 x lid on the 22/04/24. It came with free postage and packaging and arrived the next day but wasn't in so it came the next day. This transaction went smoothly.
Upon opening the box, I was very pleased with my new set of pressure cookers. These are heavy, durable, good quality pressure cookers they equal my leCreuset in quality. I prefer the dual hand grips, my wrists aren't what they once were and I struggle with long handles now, I was worried about this when purchasing the hand grips instead of long handle. I feel I've made the right choice I would never have been able to carry them with only one handle, they're far too heavy for my wrists.
Use:
Firstly they're shockingly quiet. I have to visually check my pressure cooker has hit the right pressure by viewing the red band on the pin. I can't hear the hissing and jiggling of the weight on this one. This is strange for the first couple of uses but fine now.
I've used both of the pans these get to pressure slightly quicker than my old pans and therefore cook quicker. The water for veggies should never go above the trivet. my old baskets fit my new 8L pan.
Surprisingly, I've used the 4l pan more than the the 8l (this is used for sunday dinners and soups). But the 4L has come into its own. I've never been able to cook tomato based foods in my old aluminium pressure cooker so was delighted in creating all sorts of dishes in it. I've made chicken Risotto in 12 mins it was to die for, Chilli was amazing (which leads me on to a slight problem). Stews are done in 24mins (brown meat first for flavour and colour and slow release all meats and rice & pulses just turn off the heat).
I'm really delighted with my purchase however...
When cooking with spices, the smell infuses into the rubber gasket. This is a new experience for me because I've never been able to cook the dishes I'm cooking now and so I decided to purchase a separate gasket so I can have one for certain jobs (It's probably not necessary but would love some feed back how to get rid of the smell on the gasket from kuhn rikon).
So on 28/04/24, I attempted to purchase a spare gasket. I ordered through paypal (I tried to pay by card but it kept saying klana (I don't know what this is but don't trust it) so proceeded through PayPal the gasket when through at £15.99 I received a push message through my account to say I've spent that. fabulous I thought. Then was taken back to the merchant site (this didn't happen when I purchased my pans) to state I had to add P&P. so I added P&P then I received a message to say £20.90 has been taken out of my account and the bank declined (double dipping).
I contacted Kuhn (no-one manning the phones, leave a message)
So, long story short, for some reason their website doesn't calculate the Postage before you buy??? It's the only website I've come across that does this. You go through checkout after paying for your lower end items that don't require free shipping pay then go back to the website and add postage then it checks out again and in my case £20.90 leaves your account. Very Strange Kuhn Rikon. This is the reason for the 4* instead of 5* review. Anyway, I've just purchased a gasket and postage today for £20.90.
The way I use my 2 pots and one lid is for a Sunday dinner. I par boil the potatoes in the 4l with lid on for 3mins once up to pressure. then pop the trivet onto of the potatoes to drain excess water into the gravy pan, then pour the potatoes into the roasting dish with the meat juices. The lid then gets put on the 8l pan for cooking the stacked veggies. I then hand wash the 4l dry and put it away instantly. Once the veggies are cooked, I drain the water into the gravy with the water off the potatoes and the meat juices. It makes the best gravy.
Always hand wash your pressure cooker. I don't doubt this pressure cooker will be handed down to the next generation.
Am I happy with my purchase? Absolutely!
The website is a little odd when buying low value items. seamless when purchasing the pressure cookers. They give an estimate of 3-5 days but they ship out with DPD, and arrive the next working day.
It seems everyone here is using it to complain yet my experience was faultless. I order a number of paring knives in the sale and they arrived swiftly and we are loving the knives. Great value and super sharp for prep work.
Not Induction suitable. Regretably we bought an 8 litre Duromatic Inox Pressure Cooker with Side Grips. It does not work with our Miele Induction hob. Since then we have tried a different manufacturer's, which worked fine.
Liked the design, but it did not work for us.
