Extremely rude franchise - St Leonards Sydney

The lady working at Kwik Kopy St Leonards was extremely rude, and the pricing was misleading. I called ahead and clearly explained that I needed to print, fill out, and then scan a document. I was informed there would be a minimum charge of AUD 20, which I fully understood and accepted. My document was 20 pages, and with a printing rate of AUD 0.40 per page, the total cost expected be around AUD 8 but was completely fine with the AUD 20 minimum.

However, when I arrived, the lady seemed irritated from the beginning just like the last time I visited. She complained about the time I took to fill out the form and even argued that I had previously said on the call the document had five pages instead of six. That shouldn’t matter, especially since I was being charged the minimum rate anyway. She also told me I should have gone to the library to scan the document.

Once everything was done, she suddenly quoted AUD 30. I asked how the price had jumped from the expected AUD 20 to AUD 30, especially since I only printed 20 pages. So I was being charged extra simply because she had to wait while I filled out the form. She even pointed to a sign that mentioned only the minimum charge of AUD 20 but it's nowhere written down as waiting fee.

When I asked her to clarify the scanning fee and what the additional charge was for, she refused to give a clear answer making it seem like she was making up the price on the spot. When I mentioned I had been here before and knew the printing cost was AUD 0.40 per page, she claimed that was incorrect.

When I said I would contact Kwik Kopy HQ to check if this was standard practice and asked for her name, she became angry, refused to give her name, wouldn’t accept payment, and told me to leave. I never asked for a free service I was fully prepared to pay but I expected transparent pricing and respectful treatment. She also said it was “her own business.” Does that mean she can treat customers however she likes? If she believes the charge was fair, then why not simply list the prices and provide a receipt? Perhaps it’s because charging for “waiting time” can’t really be justified in the receipt when I raise my complaint ?

I still wish to settle the payment and will contact the HQ to raise my complaint but I expect a clear breakdown of the charges. This kind of experience reflects badly on the Kwik Kopy brand even if it’s a franchise or independently owned.

Worst customer service

Used their Adelaide CBD branch to print some business cards. Day 1, a nice staff members showed me a bunch of samples, I agreed on exactly what I wanted and waited for quotes over email. Booked it with them. When I came to collect the cards they were just rude, trying to defend the worst quality product AND they somehow moved my artwork placing text over the logo.

Instead of seeing the obvious mistakes and showing the samples again to compare, they run to the back office to discuss, realize there is nothing they can argue further, and rudely come out saying "what you wanted will cost extra. The artwork, we'll fix it". I just decided not to go ahead with them for any work in future.

I wanted to purchase 100 business cards…

I wanted to purchase 100 business cards as a temporary measure as my work business cards would not be ready for an international event. I tried two stores - one wanted $140 - $60 design cost to use a design I provided, plus $80 to print. Another store wanted between $250 - $300 to design (again, my design) and print. Nearly $3 per business card. Ridiculous. I ended up using Vistaprint, 250 cards embossed double sided cards which I could design online using their range of products/suggestions, delivered within 3 business days at a cost of 20 cents each. With normal delivery, it would have been $20 less. I would never order business cards from Kwik Kopy after this experience. We spent more time on the phone and online arguing about the Kwik Kopy cost than it took me to design the card and confirm the order with Vistaprint.

Kwik Kopy - SO HELPFUL AND GREAT PRODUCT!

I was amazed by the terrific service and advice offered by Kwik Kopy. I wanted to have my book printed with 376 pages including photos and adventures. It was a journal of 9 weeks exploring the U.S.A, Mexico and Belize. I'd approached book publishing companies who offered to make a hard cover version for approx. $3,000-00! Kwik Kopy did the job for under $200-00 and the book is beautiful. Once I found them I could relax and proceed. They were great. I can highly recommend Strathpine/Brendale branch. Dianne.
