Disappointed — rigid return policy, poor customer care, and a faulty product
Disappointed — rigid return policy, poor customer care, and a faulty product. I bought a sling bag from Labo Mono as a birthday gift to myself. Unfortunately, I didn’t like the colour in person and asked to exchange it for another colour — just one week outside their 14-day return window. The item was unused and in perfect condition. They refused, flatly. I found their response unusually rigid — most modern brands offer 28-day returns or show basic flexibility, for a brand new item and especially only an exchange. Instead, I was told their policy is “non-negotiable” and blamed for not acting sooner. What made it worse is that when I went to inspect the bag for resale (as they suggested), I noticed a quality fault — uneven stitching and exposed glue along the seams. I raised this with them under the Consumer Rights Act, and I’m still waiting for a resolution. The whole experience felt unnecessarily adversarial for such a minor ask. I’ve had better service from brands at a fraction of the price. A shame, as I wanted to like and support this company — but I won’t be buying again.

We’re sorry to hear you feel this way. Our return policy is clearly stated at checkout and on our website. We keep to this timeframe for reasons of fairness and to manage production responsibly as an independent brand.
Regarding the stitching you then later mentioned, we did have this reviewed and confirmed this wasn’t a manufacturing defect. The PayPal team also came to the same conclusion during the case you opened afterwards, with the pictures you provided.
Our products are handmade, and small variations can occur without affecting quality, use or durability.
We always aim to be clear and consistent with our customers, even if that sometimes means sticking to policies that aren’t as flexible as larger retailers.

I love labo mono
I love labo mono, both my mum and I have the waterproofs from here! I think my mum has the more expensive one and I have the slightly cheaper one. They are amazing, full of pockets, colourful and cool! Really good as I can put my toasty warm Rab jacket underneath and then keep dry over the top! I really want to get the new jacket but do need to save up first :)
Defo recommend though!!
