Mickael recently crafted for me a very high quality tie in a unique shape. The process started started with me studying the online catalog and finding a few shapes that seemed interesting. I reached out asking about actual measurements of certain models. That started a dialog about what dimensions I didn’t feel worked for me and also how to achieve a 40/50s aesthetic. From there Mickael steered me away from some of catalog and mentioned a new shape he had just created for another customer. So he recommended the shape and going with something unlined since that’s the way it was in 40/50s. I specified that I wanted a fixed length without an adjustor and at that point we were ready for the order. So basically a couple weeks of talking back and forth. Although neither of us shared reference pictures, we each understood the other and result was the perfect tie for my outfit.

Is it enough to say that when my wedding photographer saw my Bowtie she said, “let me get some shots of that because that looks good and different”?

Mickael is an absolute gem of a human being. Why do I say this? The man apologized for getting sick and being a bit behind on the order, and then sent me a free pair of socks too! He had no need to, and I told him to focus on his health, and yet he still went through with it to make sure I got everything well before my wedding. The video consultation for the bespoke bow tie was helpful and informative. He showed me some examples in his workshop and it felt like a very natural and easy conversation, something I prioritize when getting something made.

We ended up doing a unique pattern because I explained that I love the straight lines of the batwing, but wanted something a bit more dramatic and less diminutive. As we spoke Mickael had the genius idea to give me something between a dropped batwing and dropped butterfly. With a straighter top than a butterfly and a more curved and dropped bottom than a batwing.

The end product was lovely and eye catching. More importantly tied beautifully and had the most natural feel with an interlining that gave just enough body. I could not have asked for more. Definitely will be going back for any future bow ties (bespoke or rtw).

Fantastic quality of product and service from Mickael and the team. Helped me through the buying process to ensure sizing and fit we’re just right. As an international customer, this was paramount as mistakes were costly and he was aware of this and gave me top notch customer service that made me wish all buying experiences were as thoughtful and well run. This is a great independent business and worthy of support. The founder Mickael is very knowledgeable and helpful, and the bow ties his team produce our top notch. I ordered online but got the size wrong for my build. So I got in touch, and he got me in to his workshop, in order to find the right one; going above and beyond the call of duty.

I was first introduced to Mickael at La Bowtique by Huntsman on Savile Row and since then have learned that he has made bows for many high profile clients including for Marc Jacobs (for his wedding) and most recently for Gregory Porter for his performance at Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace. I’ve been on the lookout for certain bow styles for a long as I can remember but could never find what I wanted for sale. I had no idea there was an opportunity to get what I wanted made, but after meeting Mickael, I now own 5 bespoke handmade bows and I’m delighted with the results. The service was exemplary and personal. Mickael invited me to bring me dinner suit to his studio so that he could best advise on the tie’s shape, proportions and fabric.

The tie was beautifully presented and Mickael was very patient showing me how to tie it perfectly. The tie itself is perfect! Full of character and body! Whenever I put on my dinner suit I feel good but it’s only when I after I put on my La Bowtique tie that I feel great!
