LawnMowingOnline Excellent Experiences

My experiences with LawnMowingOnline have been superb. The website is very straightforward and the contractors have all been extremely professional and efficient. I proudly recommend their services to my friends and plan on utilizing them for many years to come.

The best lawn mowing service I have ever used!

LawnMowingOnline.com is a service I would highly recommend and will use time and time again. The service was fast, efficient, productive, and the people did a remarkable job. They are willing to go the extra mile to make me, the customer happy. I will never use another lawn mowing service again. I can not forget to mention the affordable price and overall convenience of being able to schedule online.

Nice Company!

I’ve been using these guys all summer! I’ve had several different contractors come out to my place and mow the lawn over the past few months. Everyone was professional and courteous, not to mention they were on time. Highly recommend using these guys!

Dishonest, Extremely Rude, and Criminal. Stay away!

I've used this service on & off for about 4 years, and in all that time I never had a problem, until last week when I tried to cancel an order for the first time. That's when the true colors of the owners and/or operators of this company came out.

If you scan through the reviews of this company on this site and others, you’ll notice that most reviews are highly positive while a smaller but still significant number are very negative. The reason for this is that the vast majority of customers never have to deal directly with the company, only the contractors. Once they try to cancel an order or something else that requires contacting the site management, that’s when the terrible customer service experience begins, as I discovered personally.

I had requested a mowing job on Tuesday, Sept 6th, but no one accepted the job, and then on Friday I requested a cancellation. The website in general is very poorly designed and hard to navigate, but the cancellation link is especially hard to find, more likely by design than through incompetence. I received a message saying it would take 24 hours to process my cancellation and that in the meantime the order might be reopened and accepted by a contractor, a tactic that seems to be designed to dissuade the customer from proceeding with the cancellation since it becomes much more difficult to get a cancellation once the order is accepted. The day after I cancelled the order, this is exactly what happened, and I messaged the contractor to ask him not to mow my lawn and he complied. 6 days later I still had not received a refund or even a message telling me that my cancellation was being processed so I contacted the website to ask about it. I was told that the only way the contractor would get paid was if I dropped my cancellation request, even though the contractor had never actually mowed my lawn. I got in contact with the contractor and he told me that the website administrators were withholding payment for some of his recently finished jobs as well as all future jobs until I resolved the issue with the website (which meant dropping my cancellation request). I then contacted the website and asked why they were holding the contractor's payment hostage in order to pressure me to drop my cancellation request. The person who responded (it said Lawnmowingonline support, but I suspect it was the owner/operator of the site) told me "F*** you and the contractor, both of you get off my website." I was so shocked that a business could be this unprofessional that I took some screenshots (unfortunately, this site does not allow the posting of pictures, to see them please go to my review on sitejabber.com) of the exchange in case anyone didn't believe me. After this message, I received an email from PayPal indicating that my refund was being processed (along with a message from lawnmowingonline.com telling me I was permanently banned from using their site), but after that I received a text from the contractor saying they were still withholding payment and that I needed to add a message saying that the matter was resolved and include my address in order for him to finally get paid for his other jobs, which I did. The fact that the website tried to play us off each other is unprofessional and sleazy behavior to say the least.

I actually first posted a review on this website last week. A few hours after it went live, someone from the site posted a ridiculous response blaming the poor contractor for my negative experience, even though that clearly didn’t jive with the reality of what actually happened which I described in my review. Then the contractor sent me a screenshot of some messages he exchanged with the website (pictures available in my review on sitejabber.com) in which they refused to pay him for four jobs ordered by completely different customers (none of them me) until he got me to change my negative review to a positive one. In order to help the contractor get paid for his hard work, I deleted the review on this site along with another one on another site. Three days later, I contacted the contractor to see if he’d received his money, and he said that not only has he not, but the company is now completely ignoring him.

This company is engaging in criminal activity. Last time I checked, it’s illegal to withhold payment for services rendered, no matter how small the amount. If the contractor wanted to, he could successfully sue this company for breach of contract, but because the amount of money in dispute is relatively small, the company owner knows it wouldn’t be worth the time and effort of a lawsuit, which is why he’s behaving in so brazen a manner.

Needless to say, this company is not worthy of your business. They have many competitors and I highly suggest you stay away from this amateurish operation run by some people with very, very low character. If this were a just world, then their pathetic website, terrible customer service, and predatory (and illegal!) behavior towards contractors and customers would get them shut down permanently.

You messaged support and the contractor saying everything had been resolved. Clearly by this negative the review you are not satisfied. The website is very simple: contractors are responsible for customer satisfaction. No one orders to cancel, so when a customer that has been ordering for 4 years has their order taken by a contractor and suddenly cancels and sends a message to that contractor "No, I never want you to mow my property", that obviously looks a little suspicious, like the contractor probably did something they were not suppose to. The contractor that took your order has been removed from the website and will not be paid until they contact you and resolve all problems. After 4 years of ordering, this contractor took the order and did something to cause you to cancel, even after the contractor offered to come next week or at any other later date you wanted nothing to do with the contractor. Even if you had mowed the lawn that day and cancelled, the grass does grow back, and since you have been ordering for 4 years it's clearly the contractor is doing something to cause you to cancel and never want the contractor to return. LawnMowingOnline can not have contractors on the website that are causing problems like this, so until this contractor resolves all problems they will remain off the website.

Horrible, threatening, and completely unprofessional

I hired them for a mowing because my mower had broken on me. I ended up fixing it within a couple of hours and went to cancel the order. First off, their website is horrible and poorly designed. Second, there are no options to easily cancel an order. When you finally, by some miracle, find the cancel order or file dispute page, when you click on either option - it takes you to the home page!!!! So i emailed their support email, and got a response basically threatening me. They said they would send me to collections and I'd have to pay attorney fees, over their outrageous $15 fee that they steal from their customers who happen to need to cancel an order. If you place an order and need to cancel, they steal $15 from you, you heard that right! They are thieves. Paypal did not refund us, and they kept our $32 total order cost. No refunds, no email replies, nothing. They are con artists.

Tip for consumers: If you order (DON'T DO IT), and you have the need to cancel the order, make sure you change the mowing date first, to like a month later. Then cancel it AFTER 3 full days. Then you (allegedly) won't have $15 stolen from you. At least this is what their terms and conditions says. They are idiots, stay far far away!!

Customer agreed to be charged $15 early cancellation fee. Fee is in 3 locations: TOS that all customers must agree to before ordering, the FAQs, and on the cancellation page the customer read and agreed to before cancelling.

24. I placed a order and quickly cancelled and was charged a $15 fee, what was the fee for?
A: Cancellation fees are very common in service industry type businesses. Doctors, dentists, hair salons, moving companies and many other businesses charge fees if a appointment is cancelled within a certain time frame of when the service is being provided. So we adopted the same polices that those businesses do. If a person schedules services and cancels within 2 business days of the order being placed LawnMowingOnline reserves the right to charge a $15 fee. The policy has worked exactly as expected, more orders are getting accepted and mowed and fewer orders are being cancelled. Avoiding this fee is simple, just do not cancel within 2 business days of scheduling service. For example, if you order May 1st for mowing on May 2nd, do not cancel on May 1st, May 2nd (1 day) or May 3rd (2 days). The order can be cancelled on May 4th (3 days since May 1st) and there will be no fee. Of course by then the order will likely be accepted by a contractor and already mowed so there would no longer be any reason to cancel.

To make sure every customer knows about the cancellation fee it is listed in 2 places. It is listed on the Terms of Service page that all customers agree to before placing an order and the cancellation fee is explained in bold text and underlined on the cancellation page that all customers must fill out to cancel an order.

Thankful to have found this site :-) fast, professional and efficient!

I found Lawn mowing online when we moved away from a rental house early and still needed the grass cut at the rental house. We had just relocated so we didn’t know of any local companies to go through. It was so easy to go online, schedule and pay them all in one spot. The satisfaction guarantee is what made me try them out and I am BEYOND satisfied!

Helpful on Vacations

My wife and I have nothing but positive things to say about LawnMowingOnline.com. We used their service to have our grass cut while we were away on vacation -- before and after photos of our mowed lawn let us know when the job was finished. When we returned home, mowing was one less thing to worry about.
