Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 22 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant disappointment with the quality of the products, noting issues such as cushions losing shape, fabric pilling and fading prematurely, and leather cracking or peeling within a short period. Reviewers also felt that the pricing was too high for the quality received, often describing the furniture as "junk" despite its cost. The warranty process was a major source of frustration, with many reporting difficulties in getting repairs or replacements, and some even being told their issues were not covered despite paying for extended warranties. Some people were also dissatisfied with the service, experiencing long waits for repairs, unhelpful responses, and problems with incorrect orders or designs that clashed with their existing furniture.

Our lazy boy 3 piece suite is rubbish

Our lazy boy 3 piece suite is rubbish, so light they rock whenever you move, colour has come off leather, already a chuck and scratches on a chair that's barely been used. No pets, grandkids visit but don't wear shoes in the house. Our old suite we gave to our daughter, is 16 years old and is still in better condition than this one at 1 year old. Never again will we be buying lazy boy furniture. It's cheap and nasty lightweight rubbish. I'm so dissatisfied and disappointed. So much money wasted on this pile of manure.

Lazyboy Leather Issue

I purchased 2 Lazyboy leather sofas & a foot stall from AHF at Thurrock in 2017 and they were delivered early 2018. I could not fault AHF at the time as they loaned us 2 brand new sofas for over the Christmas period whilst we were waiting on our delivery.
Last June during lock down I had Homeserve out to look at a dark patch that appeared on the headrest of 1 of the sofas & a cushion that had become flattened & uncomfortable. They changed the cushion even though there was no sign of collapse but it’s gone quite flat again but this isn’t the issue. They would not do anything about the dark mark and where I have cleaned it thinking it was a dirty mark, it’s got so bad it looks awful! Now I can’t clean it for fear of just making it worse. Literally the colour has come off the leather. I had Homeserve out again a couple of weeks ago & they say it’s not a manufacturing fault with the leather, it’s natural oils/grease from our body. I’m dumbfounded, Iv have a leather sofa in my dining room that is 20 years old. Had I been warned of this before I paid for my suite I would never have purchased it. I feel I have been sold furniture that is literally unfit for purpose and would have thought with the money I paid, it would have lasted longer than this.
AHF have said they can only go by the report so my case is closed with them. They said I can get an independent report if I’m not happy.

Feel utterly let down by by LaZBoy/AHF

I feel utterly let down by by LaZBoy and AHF in Kings Lynn.

You buy a sofa with a 10 year warranty, assuming that this will never been needed. And being LZB it will go on for years and years ago. But within those 10 years, it has call outs for three or four repairs. Two of them being for the framework that breaks. Each time, it breaks in the same place, because of poor brackets and fitting. The repairman even said this was typical "china quality".

Now it happens yet again, but is outside of that warranty, even though it is a known issue, they do not want to know. Probably won't of those times where they think "thank god that is out of warranty with that known problem... would have cost us £100s."....

They do not wish to know. They just push you to HomeServe who will charge around £70 just to take a look.

If the issue was a brand new one, I'd get it, but this has happened many times. And now even the 'seat' is starting to feel the frame through it.

Does this mean that LZB sofas have a 10ish year health-life and after that, don't expect quality??

AHF refuses to help, and even though they can see the Homeserve reports, and the same issues returning, they refuse to help the customer.

LZB.... well they just refuse, period! Don't want to know.

Two supposedly respectable companies, each with no thought of feeling for the customer.

"Lazy" - yep.

Utter rubbish

Utter rubbish. Do not get tempted as I did through price to buy lazyboy. Not the original lazyboy any more but rubbish made in China.
Foam flattened down in 2 months. Mechanisms rattled and became loose. Even the arm rests sunk. Lazyboy uk didn't want to know, refered me to the shop I had bought from, then got clowns out from homeserve. Although home serve were old retired, and not helpful, said that lazeboy is rubbish now.

To all on this page

To all on this page, please note that this complaint page has not been claimed by La Z-boy so you will not get a response from them .. for uk search trust pilot for La Z-boy you’ll then see the .uk company ..

Bought a La Z boy manual reclining 2 cushion 3 seater sofa ..
within 6 months one of the cushions has collapsed making it uncomfortable to sit in that seat ..
SCS sent out technician .. HE confirmed verbally saying “seat was uncomfortable “ and “didn’t like the wide design rendering it to be problematic in the sense that you naturally sit towards the side of the cushion to operate the reclining mechanism..”
Report done … needless to say report just said ‘foam settling in no need for repair’.. SCS reviewed the report a few days later with no further visit and concluded the same and would not repair or take up with La Z-boy..
3rd email from SCS on the matter concluded that this would be their final response with me !!

I contacted La Z-boy uk and they just told me to pursue with SCS (even though I told them SCS had made it clear they would not comment further on the issue) as that’s who they sold the sofa too !! ..
complete attempt by both companies I feel to duck and dive in the hope you go away !! ..
I have today reported to Trading Standards for their opinion..

I bought a recliner in June 2017

I bought a recliner in June 2017. Fabric was terrible finally was told that the fabric had been discontinued. Stuffing in back of chair very uneven was repaired 3 times still not right. I was putting the leg part of the recliner down and a piece of black plastic that looked like a straw shot out from under the chair. Now the chair does not recline and the motor does not work. The repair man told me today that the whole frame of the chair is bent and broken. I am 73 years old and live alone. No way I bent the frame. Warranty is a joke. I have Lazy boy and Kincaid furniture all thru my house. NEVER Again will I buy from them.

Do not buy their rip-off Warranty! Or from them either.

Bought a leather recliner in 2017 for $1,500 on sale and also their 5 year warranty against damage. After 2 years or so the stuffing started going, the recliner always made loud noises when letting the footrest down and there are some scratches on the arms now. The 5 year warranty when read to me covers NOTHING that normally happens. It is a total rip-off. You have been warned now. BEWARE!

No longer a quality product…

Purchased a sofa and a power reclining love seat in March 2019. Love seat is a piece of junk. Repairs have been made three times to three different mechanisms. Now the reclining mechanism of the recliners have worn out. The back will no longer fully un-recline and I can hardly get out of the chair without pushing myself out.

Quality has gone down the pan!!

Purchased a la-z-boy rocker recliner last year and it's done nothing but creak, squeak, and groan from the 1st day. Tried contacting them onsocial media who just fob off with an email address that no-one replies from ........ever.
A year on from getting the chair and the noises from wood and springs is that bad I hate sitting on it. Massive waste of money from a company who has very clearly made its name in the past and is now riding the coattails of the good products no longer made!!

Brought a two and three-seater leather…

Brought a two and three-seater leather recliner sofas from Scs December 2017 then in September 2020 reported the leather was peeling on both sofas along arms seems and seats took out extra insurance with Scs, Castelan came out confirmed not accidental went back to scs who stated need to pay another £60 to have another report by one of their own technicians - he was a waste of time and my money, scs will not refunded my money for report despite asking me to take further photos because his wasn’t clear and asked if damage of both sofas clearly if the technician did his job correctly they would have clear photos and explained details about faults. End result scs offered as good will gesture to repair the small square area of leather and said this would be done in my own home. I am not sure if La-z-boy are aware that scs are selling sofas that cost well over £4500 including extra insurance to then tell customers tough luck you have had the sofa over two years these things happen - wow never ever will I purchase a La-z-boy sofa again nor step foot inside a Scs store the aftercare customer service is disgusting

Avoid buying from La-z-Boy in TX - Fraudulent Practices!

I purchased a custom sectional sofa at the La-z-Boy galleries (apparently owned and operated by Lebco Industires) in Austin, TX on 10/24/20. I was told that delivery would take 4-5 months. I originally walked out but came back later and decided to buy even though I thought this was a very long wait time - Covid excuses or not. Approximately, 3.5 months after the purchase date, I decided to call the store and see what the status was only to learn that delivery had been pushed until May 2021 - - a full 7 months from the order date and 2 months after the estimated date! If I had not called, no one would have called me. That much was quite clear. The salesman, Larry, apologized, but his apologies ddid not provide my family with a place to sit comfortably in my living room. I had given away my old sofa to someone in need in December thinking that I could live without one for two months. Not being upfront with your customers is pretty disgraceful and perhaps an indication that La-z-Boy is purposefully deceitful with its customers. A $7,000 sofa deserved at least a heads up or some sort of priority in the queue. I was furious and horribly disappointed, but it only got worse from there.

Given the first date move, I started calling the store again from mid-April, and now there’s a new wrinkle and more of a reason to expedite this order. I explained to each person every time I called that I just learned that I needed to have hip replacement surgery and I needed to schedule it for a time when the sofa would be here because I was going to need it – especially the reclining section for my recovery. I was told that May 20 would be the date that my sofa would be ready for shipping, and they would make note of the surgery and note the need to expedite this order. I called no less than 3 times from mid-April through May 21. Each time I was assured we were on track for a late May delivery. On May 21 I spoke to a salesperson (female) who admitted that there seemed to be a delay and that she would need to get the manager to research it for me and she promised he would call me back that day, but it looked like we were not talking about the “end of May” for delivery. He did not call back. I called him the next day and he said that he needed to do some additional research but, for sure, the sofa’s delivery was “slightly delayed”. He told me he was being transferred to the new store in Cedar Park, and he would call me back from there the following day with more details. He did not. So, I called the store yet again, spoke to a salesperson who transferred me to the new manager of the Austin store, “Stella”. She promised to call me back because she needed to call “corporate” to find out where the sofa was at this point in time. She actually called me back, but she had very bad news - - my sofa that was supposed to arrive in February and later pushed to mid-May, and then delayed to late May, had just now gone into the production line!!! Her best estimate was that it would be delivered by mid-July. I was offered a $560 discount in addition to free delivery, but none of that matters to me. I rescheduled my surgery for the end of June thinking I would give La-z-Boy some cushion time to ensure that the sofa would be here by then.

I tried to Stella back on May24th and left a message for her with a female salesperson, who assured me that she would call me back. She did not, and as of this date has not.

At this point, I need someone to expedite the production of my sofa and get it here by June 30 or provide me with a “loaner” from your showroom until such time as you can finally deliver the sofa, I purchased from you at the end of October 2020. It is beyond galling to me that La-z-Boy continue to hold sales, advertise on TV and elsewhere, open new stores and sell even more merchandise when they have not fulfilled their obligation to customers who purchased furniture well over 7 months ago.

These are fraudulent business practices and it is utter nonsense at this stage to continue to blame COVID. I ordered a custom made etagere piece from an overseas country that was ravaged by COVID and was impacted by the Suez Canal problem, and that piece arrived today. By the way, I ordered it a month after I ordered the sofa.

Because no one will return my calls, I’ve reported this debacle to the BBB and the Texas Consumer Affairs Division.

Worst Furniture Ever

Purchased not one but TWO La Z Boy Fortune Style Full Size 92" Sofas (See# LB143687) and Reclina Rocker Chair for almost $6500 and it's now almost 3 years and the so-called leather/vinyl fabric is peeling off between the cushions, the padding is deteriorating to the point the wood frame is noticeable when you sit or lay down, and the leather protection warranty, time to consider your purchase at home of 3 days is not worth the paper its printed on. I used to be in favor of this brand furniture, but not any more. Be aware of anything you purchase today, it's not the same quality or product it once was, and their service and support is non-existent. CAVEAT EMPTOR

Garbage

Garbage! We were past loyal customers and ordered 2 new, near the top of the line, recliners. Both chairs have cheap foam that after only 6 months sinks way down in the center like a very old chair. Also 6 months later and the whole house has to be aired out from the nasty fumes! Probably cheap Chinese crap. NEVER again!

Beware of Sarasota Lazy Boy

We order a sleeper sofa at the Sarasota store at the end of Oct. 2020. We where told to expect delivery at the end of Jan. 2021, when we inquired about delivery we were informed that it would not be until the end of Apr. 2021 due COVID related issues. After a 7 month wait the sofa arrived but not with the air mattress that we had requested, it was supplied with the standard type mattress. When we called the Sarasota store we were told that our order was for sofa with gel cushions for the sofa not the sofa with an air mattress for the sleeper as we requested. Unfortunately the way our order was written it had no description, only the part number which was incorrect for the additional item we requested. After numerous calls to our sales person and the store manager there only option was for us to order and pay for the air mattress that we originally requested at an additional $500. Beware that if you order anything from the Sarasota Lazyboy store that you make them include a full description of what you are purchasing and also know that there will be absolutely no customer service after the sale as the do not seem to care about there customer’s satisfaction.

Purchased a four seat corner unit in grey leather two years ago, Lazyboy pushed us back to our supplier SCS, we had to pay £60 for them to inspect. Their inspector said it was definitely manufacturing fault but his report said accidental?, asked for a review and was again rejected. Completely baffled by their approach, I will never buy a Lazyboy product or use SCS again , crooks.

Poorly Constructed Junk Furniture

If you want poorly constructed junk, go ahead and buy these products. Ours took 7 months to arrive (sofa, love seat, & recliner) and the quality is less that what I would expect to have a "Made in China" tag attached. No quality control that I can see. Should never have left the factory. Too many issues to list.

Appalling quality

Bought 2 leather La-z-Boy recliners & a buffet. Aside the problem we’re having in respect of disputing the colour we have to what was ordered the quality is very poor. After 2 weeks the leather was puddling, the arms dumpling & the back indented. Not what you expect for c£4,500. Disappointed to find it was made in China when told by SCS made in UK. Dispute in full swing. Colour & quality. Wouldn’t buy from SCS or a la-z-boy again. Thought they were great quality, nope. The 14 year old one we got rid of was in better condition than this after 2 weeks.

Lazy Boy (UK) Utter Rubbish

Having been to the USA a number of times I was well acquainted with the lazy boy brand, so when I needed a new suite I purchased my lazyboy suite around 2012 (cost around £4500.00) as I was given to understand by all of the store advertising that it was made in the USA. Less than two later the whole suite was replaced under warranty due to surface peeling of the leather (which was supposed to be of a high grade). Less than a couple of years later more problems which involved replacing various parts of the suite. It's at this time I was made aware that the furniture was actually made in China. It's now been just under nine years since I purchased this suite ( my previous one different brand no longer available was nearly 15years old when issues started too occur and I decided to replace it (still have the original recliners in my summer house). The suite is now totally uncomfortable and is falling apart, so once again time for a replacement (due in a few weeks). Definitely not buying another lazy boy. If it were possible to give this brand as sold in the UK a zero rating then I would do so. Would advise anyone thinking of purchasing one of these, especially from SCS to think again. Service appalling, you have to pay a call out fee (non refundable) for warranty claims.

My daughter gifted to me a Lazyboy recliner 2 yrs.ago... it’s falling apart! I’ve been working with the service department since late November! Paid $135.00 to have a service person check the chair out...parts were never ordered!! I called the store because service was UNAVAILABLE!!! Finally got a salesperson that helped me...never did hear from anyone again...called store again...this time I was insulted and told to call service again where one never gets an answer!!! Sales person screamed at me to call service and wait until they answer it could be an hour and a half on hold...she said to wash clothes etc...while waiting...I WILL NEVER BUY THIS JUNK AGAIN...I have a $1600 chair that can’t be used...called service again at 9am...finally a human being!!! She said a service person will be out to me in late March! I’m sure the chair will never be right...waste of time and money!!
