Medichecks acquisition and price gouging
Medichecks recently bought out the Leger Clinic, a men's health and TRT clinic.
In an apparent effort to "improve quality of care" they are now refusing to accept the biannual blood tests required for continued treatment from any other provider, including the patient's own GP.
In practice this adds around £200 per year in additional costs to the patients with willing GPs, and potentially more if their primary point of care is not willing to phlebotomize them for a private test.
These practices are wholly anti-competitive, and I am unconvinced that patient care is in any way improved by eliminating a patient's choice.
Sadly this company's practices are turning the patients of a previously reputable care provider into cash cows.

Following Leger Clinic’s integration into Medichecks, our focus has been on ensuring continuity of care while upholding the highest clinical standards. We understand this change may mean additional cost for some patients, but it was made with patient safety, accountability, and the best clinical outcomes in mind.
As testosterone is a controlled drug, it is essential that we receive clear and verifiable blood test reports to ensure patient safety. Unfortunately, many of the submissions we receive are screenshots or photos from the NHS app, often missing key details such as names or dates of birth. In some cases, the images are illegible, making it impossible for us to verify the results accurately. Due to these challenges, we are unable to automate the process of integrating these test results into our system. We apologies for any inconvenience this change may have caused, but we hope that you will benefit from our improved blood monitoring process.

Very very sad news
Currently in the process of leaving Leger Clinic as soon as possible, as are many other people if you do your online research.
I switched to Leger clinic because they were one of few providers that charged reasonable costs within this industry. Sadly as you will see in other reviews they have now sold their company to Medichecks and will no longer be allowing patients to complete their bloods through their GP. This means for anyone (such as myself) who has a dose that needs regular alteration due to oestradiol issues I will now need to pay hundreds of pounds extra. Very disappointing.
Within their drawn up comms they will respond that this is down to ensuring quality. You will see from other posts that we are all very aware this is down to profiteering just like other big players in the industry. Conveniently after stopping patients using their GP you are told you can buy blood tests directly from them.

I recommend Leger Clinic for TRT.
Leger Clinic consistently provides a prompt and straightforward service, making them a reliable and efficient company to work with. Their customer support is excellent, ensuring that any queries or concerns are addressed quickly and effectively. Additionally, their pricing is highly competitive, offering great value for money across their product range. However, there is still some room for improvement in the pricing of Testosterone Cypionate. If the cost could be reduced slightly, for example, to £160 delivered instead of the current £180, it would make their offering even more attractive (via Somer Pharmacy). This adjustment would bring Leger closer to being the ideal TRT provider, combining exceptional service, strong support, and unbeatable pricing.

This is an excellent clinic. The support offered has been amazing and for the price, quite frankly, it’s a steal. Dr Thomlinson and Dr Savage were both kind and considerate. I started my treatment and since then I have also been offered great support. Emails are answered very very quickly and they have been great to support me as I learn how to deal with this. Big shout out to Richard as well for his supportive phone calls and emails. Very happy and if you are looking for a clinic to get help with testosterone, please use this one.

Amazing, Human, Supportive, and Life-Changing.
Dr. Savage and his team have turned my life around. Years of steady decline and countless attempts to get help have been turned around by visiting the Leger Clinic. My health has been on the up, physical and mental. I have already forwarded a few friends and colleagues to the clinic, with similar results as mine. The team are quick to support, and provide a very easy pathway for busy professionals who are on the go and traveling. Most importantly, the service has been top notch for years, no tapering, and only getting better as the team grows. I don't leave reviews, which hopefully is statement enough.

Such a relief to be told I had Testosterone Deficiency
I spoke with Dr. Savage for an assessment and was told I had testosterone deficiency. This could have gone on for 10+ years as I was diagnosed with depression and put on sertraline for that time. I could not function with my work, no focus, zero concentration and was getting worse. Also suffered with ED and no libido. Dr Savage and all of his team I have dealt with really do care and have given me the help and medication I required. Still a way to go before I feel 100% again, but feeling normal is great at this early stage of my TRT journey, Thank you to all the staff, you have given me my life back.

Totally professional service
Totally a professional service, always awkward as a man discussing man issues but Dr Tomlinson put me at ease throughout our consultation and was able to have a bit of humour with me to lighten the situation a bit.

Life-changing!
The Leger Clinic has been life-changing for me.
They provide a quality of treatment that is not available on the NHS. Dr. Savage and the team are informative, professional, and efficient as I have seen over the past year and a half I have been with them (and counting).
Moreover, the practice writes prescriptions and sources medication in a direct-to-consumer way that helps the patient save money, which was relieving for someone initially concerned about the costs of private health care.
My own anecdote is that I've been smashing personal health and life goals on my course of treatment that would have been impossible on the NHS', all thanks to the medical support of the Leger Clinic. The Clinic will also engage with your GP to help coordinate and communicate your treatment.
I would also like to say - because it was so refreshing to see - that it was abundantly clear from my first engagement with Dr. Savage that he is deeply passionate about this cause and strives to give people access to better, more up-to-date treatment than may be available elsewhere. It is no wonder his name and the rest of the Clinic are well-known and respected in this field. Other reviews I read before engaging the Leger Clinic spoke highly of the service received by the staff there and the quality of medicine available, which now I have experienced first-hand.
If you feel this might be the right course for you, getting in touch with the team is something I 100% recommend.

The best change my life has ever had.
After struggling with the effects of poor hormones for about 2 years I went to see my GP. Unfortunately the NHS were not helpful because despite my levels being below the range they were close enough that they wouldn’t help me.
I have lifted weights and exercised all my life but found myself getting weaker and fatter, more tired and emotionally exhausted all the time. Nothing made it better.
I found the Leger Clinic and they were instantly helpful, I had a few emails back and forth with Dr Savage before booking a consultation over Teams. The Drs at Leger really take the time to know you and your lifestyle before talking about medication which I really appreciated. I was prescribed TRT and within a few weeks I felt better than I had in a long time.
I’m 1.5 years in now I feel better than ever. I’m performing better at work, I’m less tired and I feel overall more regulated.
I get frequent blood tests which the clinic monitor and provide feedback on lifestyle changes that could help too.
I’ve never used private healthcare before and always advocated for not doing so, but this is a service not really available without it and I can’t believe how much it’s changed my life. This is by far the biggest change in my life for an unbelievably low cost when you weigh up the positive benefits it’s given me.

After dealing with NHS incompetence and…
After dealing with NHS incompetence and outright disdain for my condition I found the Leger clinic to be a life saver, particularly Dr Savage and Richard who have been a great help and are full of good advice. I don’t know what I would have done without the clinic as the NHS seems only to want to make men suffer their condition because of archaic views on the use of testosterone.

I’ve been with a few different clinics regarding testosterone replacement and this clinic has been far the best.
With the recent introduction of the ANP’s it makes contacting the clinic even more effective.

Dr Savage is an expert in his field, I have been on TRT for one month and it has been life changing. I had issues with signing up to a membership but this was swiftly resolved. Highly recommended.

TRT with personal touch
The team have been amazing from day one, now more than 3 years ago that I started. They taken the time to meet me and my health and have been supportive at every point during my journey on TRT.
