Microbakery and baking classes. LEKITO is an award winning microbakery, specialising in a small range of wonderful breads, tarts, cakes and buns. We believe in Real Bread, no preservatives or other additions commercial bakers use. Artisan bread and pastries. We bake to order and also attend markets where the Lekito stall is always popular. In 2022 we won a Gold Award at the World bread Awards. We also love to teach bread baking in small friendly classes with award-winning baker, Keith Kirby. Classes are in Keith’s own kitchen in Wavendon, where participants learn a range of skills and get to bake a variety of breads or other bakes. Every class is hands-on, and everyone goes home with lots of things for friends and family to try, along with recipes. And a life-skill that will last forever!

It was great to support a local artisan baker and the sourdough was the best 👍🏻
Thank you Lekito

best bakery I have tasted in a long while!

Fabulous quality, taste and selection of bread and tarts.
In particular, credit has to be given to the chocolate and raspberry tarts which are beautiful (even if they make you feel somewhat guilty).
Finally, the knowledge and skill of Keith in making these creations is very impressive and increases the level of enjoyment in the final product.

Bought the bread course as a gift for my husband. He was full of praise for Keith Kirby , the baker/tutor, and had such an amazing day, he wants to do follow up courses.
The bread has been so delicious, we have set aside one day a week to make more. I can honestly recommend Lekito based on my husband’s reaction to the day, his sheer enjoyment, and the fact that he is continuing to make bread at home.
It’s a full 5 stars & then some.

On this particular occasion we ordered the Christmas cake and Amaretti biscuits. Both delicious. Previously have enjoyed the piccalilli, doughnuts, various breads, marmalade and weekly special treats. We were devastated to hear of the move away from Guildford but hoping to attend a class in the near future and hoping for occasional delivery to Guildford.

As part of my Christmas present, I had the great pleasure of being taken under Keith's wing for a Breadmaking class. On arrival I was surprised to find it was a one on one class (I expected a large class). Keith is so passionate about breadmaking that it transfers to the pupil ! Learnt so much on that day and made a substantial quantity of different breads (which my family and I totally enjoyed) Sundays are now destined to become breadmaking days. I came away with hints, tips and clear and concise recipes and a new passion ! Family (and I) will be booking another course for me with Keith in the not too distant future.
Keith, Thank You for a great experience !

Had the most wonderful Christmas Cake from Lekito this year. Ordered online, received confirmation quickly and then delivery date all confirmed at same time. Was absolutely delicious & will be my 'go to' for the cake next year for sure!

First time buyers of the Christmas Cake, it was the best we've ever had! It looks stunning and tastes amazing, and it impressed all our guests. We would absolutely recommend it!

So sad to hear on 20th August Lekito has baked its last loaf. This was a gorgeous local bakery that delivered quality natural products at a very attractive price. Wish you well Keith

So far the bread and cookies have been excellent. You can tell the quality in the taste, texture and appearance. Can't wait to try the granola!

I have been baking bread for ~15 months but have not ventured out of making sourdough. I was gifted this class and it did not disappoint. Keith is a kind and patient teacher and was able to help me through the process of making not only simple breads and rolls but also a dough lamination. Keith did a great job at highlighting skills and tips that would improve the quality and structure of your bread. Having the range of difficulties and types of breads but also applying similar techniques to all the different breads increased my confidence in my baking and also inspired me to try out difficult recipes I have been holding back on. Throughout the class, Keith was able to answer questions and offer to provide guidance on bread and baking processes off the cuff. Since a lot of my baking has been self-taught, having such a rich and knowledgable resource like Keith to discuss with and receive guidance from was invaluable. If you have any interest in bread at all, please take this class!

We made our first order from Lekito this week having been on the mailing list for a while, and are pleased we did. The food was delivered when promised, which is always a good start! The sourdough was very tasty and made excellent breakfast toast, and the doughnuts were a nice treat. Our favourite of everything we ordered was the focaccia, which we sliced in half, filled with pesto, chicken, rocket and provolone cheese, then baked for 15 minutes. We'll definitely be ordering again!

We tried the Ukrainian special bread, which was very tasty, but the Focaccia is still the most amazing Bread you can ever taste. Try some!

If you are thinking of setting up your own microbakery then this is the course for you! Keith was patient and helpful and provided thorough and detailed information. It was easy to ask questions and I think we covered everything I wanted to know - and what we didn't I feel able to ask afterwards. The baking was hugely enjoyable as Keith is a great tutor. Everything we baked was delicious with the focus being on how to bake to sell. I highly recommend this course and can't wait to get going opening my own microbakery.

Enjoyed a superb Introduction to Sourdough class with the multi-talented Keith on Saturday, producing six, (yes six!) whole sourdough loaves and some paprika snackettes to accompany any type of alcoholic beverage…..!
Everything was perfectly organised and prepared in advance in readiness for a long day of mixing, kneading, proving and finally baking assorted loaves which was all great fun, punctuated by fresh coffee, cookies, more coffee, a delicious lunch with wine and brownies to follow, lots of laughter and shared stories and all in Keith’s own immaculate kitchen in his beautiful home in Guildford.
Thoroughly recommended and I shall be back for more!
