Sawdust briquettes light easily but burn too fast, night briquettes need a lot of heat to get them going and last longer (OBS) but nowhere near 8 hours, even with vents adjusted. Far better spending your money on proper seasoned hardwood logs

Love the combination, day blocks light quicker and burn faster and hotter but using both gives the best of both worlds, and when it's really cold I love to leave the night blocks burning so I come down to the fire still warm in the morning
