Disappointing experience with Lenoxx Bluetooth Retro Turntable

I bought the Lenoxx Bluetooth Retro turntable at Kogan as a birthday gift for my wife, expecting a simple and enjoyable listening experience. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.

From the start, the sound quality from the internal speakers was disappointing and below what I would reasonably expect. I then tried connecting external speakers to improve the sound, but that’s when I discovered the bigger issue. Even with the volume turned all the way down, the turntable’s internal speakers continue to play sound when using the LINE OUT connection. There is no option to mute or disable them. You also cannot connect external speakers via Bluetooth.

When using LINE OUT, you end up with two audio sources playing at the same time, with low-quality sound from the internal speakers interfering with the better sound from external speakers. This limitation is not mentioned anywhere in the product description or specifications. If I had known this before purchasing, I would not have bought it.

I contacted Lenoxx to request a refund, but they refused and classified it as a “Change of Mind” return with a 25% restocking fee, despite this limitation never being disclosed.

I then tried to get support from Kogan, as the retailer, but have received no response so far. It has been over two weeks, which has been extremely frustrating.

I’m sharing this review so other buyers are aware of this issue before making a purchase. Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience.

Awesome Customer Support

I am super impressed with Lenoxx's customer support/after sales service. Lenoxx's customer support team are quick to respond and always extremely helpful. I have needed to return two items to Lenoxx, one faulty out of the box and another which developed a fault when two months out of warranty. On both occasions, Lenoxx could not have been more obliging, quickly sending a replacement for no cost- no hassling, no problem. It's refreshing in this day and age to deal with a company that really cares.
