I have never sign up for this app and my soft wear is saying its a scam so please people be aware of this app

I have also received the same mail, saying I had signed up to Letterboxd, when I have done no such thing, and have never previously heard of the company.

I have received an email from you saying I had signed up and you are going to charge my PayPal account after 14 day trial. I have never heard of you and definitely not signed up. Is this a scam.

I agree with the Hamilton's. I have never heard of the company. Why would I want to pay a subscription. It may not be a scam but I will let other people try it if they want.

I too have just received an email saying I have signed up and that I will be charged automatically from my PayPal account and that to cancel my subscription to access my PayPal account through a link and follow instructions.
I have not signed up for Letterboxd, order date December 13 2022% ( love the % after the date!) Has to be a scam as I have also been out all day and not had access to the internet.

Following on from the above I have just had confirmation from Letterboxd (thank you Matthew) that the email is a SCAM as it’s not been sent from an @letterboxd.com email address - they have anti-forgery email domain rules in place) Hope this helps everyone.

I received an email today stating that after a 14 day trial, I would be charged £49 for the subscription!!! I have never heard of this site/app and nor have I signed up!! It has my email address stating they will take money from my PayPal. Looks like it’s happened to others too looking at the reviews. Where’s the apology or contact to give you my false order number you provided me with? Let’s see if you have any level of customer service and respond to this to offer any support?

Scam. Received an email saying I had subscribed and they would be kindly taking £49 from my paypal account after the free 14 day trial that I never asked for. Reported to paypal phishing department.

I too have just received an email from letterboxd saying I have signed up and saying I will be charged £49 a month after 14 days. I had never heard of them.

i've only begun using this site...but for the four times i opened it/went there, i was bomBARDED with ads of all sorts...not a pleasant experience, to say the LEAST. i was trying to find an alternative to imdb, as far as opinions on films go. but i'm already having my doubts about the price i have to pay to try to just either give my opinion on movies i've seen that, probably, others haven't, but are VERY worth seeing OR...seeing what OTHERS think about a film i'm thinking about viewing...i'm sure i'll decide within a month. just thought i'd warn others thinking about using this site. it seems it's MUCH more about them making money plastering ads onto the page than offering the 'service' they are supposedly providing.

I always reject cookies and anything to do with third party vendors and their list is insane. There's no option to 'reject all' so you have to deselect yourself but instead of the basic options they give you each company and site individually taking up time, there's actually 2 pages. It took 15 minutes to change the options but when I got to the end and select confirm choices it took me back to the beginning like I hadn't done anything. If this is intentional I'm not using it anymore after years of use of the trusted app, I'd rather keep my details personal than read reviews.

The app itself is great and easy to use even if it does crash when used for too long (tested on 2 phones) it's worth it.

Letterboxd is such a well-formatted app/website that I use on a day-to-day basis. I even pay the (OPTIONAL) yearly subscription fee for some cool benefits.
