Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 78 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed frustration with frequent interruptions for app updates and memory clearing, which often occurred unexpectedly during programs. People found the user interface difficult to navigate, citing slow loading times for guides and applications, along with complicated and unresponsive remote controls. Furthermore, consumers reported significant product quality issues, such as screens developing faults, intermittent picture and audio problems, and devices unexpectedly turning off or lagging after only a few years of use. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that the picture quality was good or even superb, providing a positive viewing experience.

Can someone explain to me why a TV…

Can someone explain to me why a TV manufacturer feels the need to force you to accept changes to the terms and conditions every time you turn it on? So I should get up and what? Go return a 5-year-old TV just because I don't agree with the terms? Are these people normal, or are they really so detached from reality? I really don't want anything to do with LG anymore. I only use the TV for playing on the PlayStation, I don't understand why my viewing device has to bother me with some terms and conditions.

Not older user friendly

Not older user friendly, as there is no shortcut on the remote control for turning the subtitles on.
Good sound quality and picture but seems to take a lot longer to respond than our old LG.
The screen advertising is really annoying as you can't access Live TV easily.

What a load of rubbish. Very sluggish operating system. Tonight they released a system update, which prevented the tv from receiving any tv signal. Just had to do a full reset. Save your money and buy a samsung!

My Honest Review of LG WEB OS

My Honest Review: LG webOS – Outdated and Restrictive

LG’s webOS feels like a relic from 2020, struggling to keep up with modern smart TV expectations. While it was once a competitive platform, it now feels outdated, limited, and frustratingly restricted.

The Bad:
• No Google Play Store: This is a major drawback. Unlike Android TV or Google TV, LG webOS locks you into its own ecosystem, limiting your app choices to what LG wants you to have. No sideloading, no flexibility.
• Limited App Selection: Even though it has some popular streaming apps (Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video), it lacks the vast selection found on platforms like Android TV, Fire TV, or even Roku.
• Clunky User Experience: The interface hasn’t evolved much over the years. It feels sluggish at times and lacks the smooth, fluid navigation of other smart TV systems.
• Poor Customization: Unlike Android-based TVs, you can’t really tweak the experience to your liking. Want to install a third-party launcher? Not happening. Want more control over your apps? Forget it.
• LG’s Control Over Features: Some features (like certain streaming services or functions) are locked to specific regions, making it even more frustrating for users who want a truly open smart TV experience.

The Good (If Any):
• Magic Remote (If Your TV Has It): The motion-controlled remote is a nice touch, making navigation a bit easier.
• Good for Basic Streaming: If all you need is Netflix and YouTube, it works fine—but so does every other smart TV.
• Web Browser (Kind of…): It has a built-in browser, but it’s slow and barely usable for anything beyond basic searches.

Final Verdict: Not Smart Enough for 2025

LG webOS feels like an outdated, locked-down operating system that hasn’t evolved to match modern expectations. Without Google Play Store support, its app selection is weak, and the lack of flexibility makes it a poor choice for those who want more than just the basics. If you want a real smart TV experience, you’re better off with Google TV, Android TV, or even Fire TV.

60 inch TV.

60 inch TV.
Worked for 2 years then screen went black.
Contacted lg. They will fix it for £799. I can buy a new one for half the price.
Will not buy lg again. Have sent feedback to the company.
Doubt anything positive will happen.
Very disappointed.

Woeful, just woeful. Avoid.

Its hard to express just how bad this is.

Hosted apps continuosuly crash citing a network issue and requesting me to check my internet connection settings (there is never anything wrong with them). The apps caches the failed connection response meaning you have to log into a native app (e.g. iPlayer) which seeme to clear the cache and force the app you actually want to use to try again.

It forgets log in settings regularly, including network details, and hosted apps regularly freeze during ad breaks, presumably when there are no ads to show because advertisers don't want to be associated with anything hosted by LG.

Utterly digusted.

A terrible choice of operating system.

A terrible choice of operating system.
WebOS updates loosing previous settings, then it frequently crashes complaining about lack of memory for the Apps and when it is showing, say BBC1, then pops up a banner over live TV urging you to buy products.

Do not buy products from LG with this system! I'm reviewing the Sale of Goods Act to reclaim money as it's not of merchantable quality.

I wish I'd not bought an Oled LG

There is a current problem which has resulted in apps disappearing from the screen and an error message appearing. There are endless posts about this on Reddit but not a word from an official LG spokesperson. It follows on from a recent update that has resulted in the apps not working. Additionally the channel that first came on after this update was one that I have never ever looked at. Why was it there?

They really need to tell people how to set it up

**update**
Well, I’ve had the LGtv for several months now and do quite like it.
I can control the TV, the Soundbar and the Sky box with just the LG tv remote.
I’m not changing the number of stars as it was trial and error and a lot of frustration that brought about what I now know and again would suggest that if they included some simple instructions they would rate much higher here as reading some of the other reviews it seems that the main issue is customer service.
***************
My JCV TV packed up and I was looking for a replacement and found a LG TV which seemed suitable.
There were some issues and it seems that a lot of people have the same ones so why don't they tell anyone how to resolve them?
Firstly, it just asks for a password to connect to the internet, if you take the effort of experimenting it will allow you to connect using a WPS button but it's not at all easy to find out how.
Then after about 10 days it disables all your apps as you've not agreed to their privacy terms.
Firstly, they don't ask you to do this when you first set it up and once it's shut you down it won't allow you to accept the terms and a quick internet search shows this is an extreemly common issue.
Eventually, after giving it a factory reset twice I managed to do it so the TV now seems OK.
To be honest, I came close to taking it back for a refund and a different make of TV.
All that is needed to fix this is for them to give some simple, basic instructions on how to set your TV up.
This could easily have been just one star.

Shocking TV had nothing but issues with it! Constantly crashing, unable to update apps, a mission to find all settings. Yet all other tvs and computers in the house work as they should. We have very strong internet and did all updates. Now to the point we can’t update ANY apps or watch anything! It’s going to the tip and We will never buy an LG TV ever again!

Bought TV with wall mount bracket…

Bought TV with wall mount bracket installation service which was £120 extra and found out later that the service doesn't provide the bracket and I need to buy it separately. It's funny as it doesn't say anything about the bracket need to be purchased separately when ordering online. I called them to cancel and was told you can't cancel the service. When asked why it doesn't say anything about the bracket needs to be purchased separately, they said you needed to read the terms and conditions. Who read the terms and conditions when purchasing a service. It's a scam and very misleading.

A very slow TV that isn't compatible with BBC iPlayer

I swapped a really poor Sharp for an LG TV. Really awful. So slow even though I have fast internet. I actually had to buy a fire stick which works brilliantly because this is TV is not compatible with BBC iPlayer. I would say stay away at all costs. We bought one at the same time for my mum and that is as slow. Takes 30.seconds just to get live tv.

Wish I had bought a Samsung

Absolutely shocking I was going to buy a Samsung television but was persuaded by Richer Sounds that the LG would be better. It is absolute rubbish you can wait ages for the guide to load and sometimes it doesn't load at all, so you have to go back and start again. I would never buy an LG again.

Worst firmware ever..

Worst firmware ever... The WiFi connection is bad, most of the apps don't work, and there are constant updates demanding that I share my data or don't have a TV any more..

This is the last LG product I will purchase..

Bought the tv and wall bracket

Bought the tv and wall bracket, the screw holes for the wall bracket are in line with the aerial inlet, so cant have an aerial with a wall bracket, googled it and it's a big problem for lots of customers, I mean, who is the designer, how incompetant. I'm taking it back, and reading the reviews I think I've had a lucky escape.

32lq63006la 32 inch doesn’t load apps straight from the box

Arrived today unable to down load any apps, no apps work, the internet browser works and TV is showing as connected to the network. Bought on line through Amazon, another mistake, if had bought at a shop could have taken it back straight away. No customer support from online retailer, LG web site impossible to navigate. What a pile of shite.
