Don’t trust this company - Mayfair and Tottenham Court Road

Stratstone - Tottenham Court Road. The driver who picked my car up abused my trust and thrashed the vehicle… as seen by the MetaTrak score feature in their app. ( not the LR Remote app). I complained to the service manager Mr. Davies who responded on the phone to my complaint without fully listening, didn’t seem to understand what I was telling him, makes things up and has refused to respond to my email which he requested I send him which has screen shots of the app showing the pick up driver using “critical acceleration” and “ Hard acceleration” in my V8 supercharged car which is an abuse of trust, highly inappropriate and a danger in a built up area of central London. Mr. Davies obviously doesn’t understand the severity of his drivers abuse of customers trust and property and the harm it does to Stratstones business. The service manager, Mr Davies, obviously thinks it okay to ignore customers complaints and concerns.

I gave Mr. Davies the opportunity to apologise and make things right but he feels it appropriate to just ignore his customers. He is obviously in the wrong job as he is incapable of behaving in a professional manner.

Furthermore, the vehicle health check Stratstone provided advised on my tires, but I’m confused as I don’t have the brand of tires mentioned in the report. Possibly mixed up my report with another vehicle but again, as the unprofessional service manager doesn’t understand his roll, I’ve not heard back on this issue either. The report advised rear tires were worn BUT 3 days earlier when having a puncture repair, Kwik fit advised they were good and had a lot of life left in them.

They DON'T TRUST themselves

Bought a car from these then later it developed a fault with the air conditioning.
Rang as it could have been a warranty claim, they said bring it in ,we will find the fault and decide if it is covered by the warranty, but would incur a £125 "investigation" fee.
Took it in,they checked it said they had found the fault, not covered by warranty and charged me DOUBLE the fee £250!!!!!
As I was moving over 200 miles away I asked if I could take it into another branch to be repaired, yes they said BUT it would need to be investigated AGAIN,for a fee of £125, to see what the fault was as the company do NOT TRUST ther OWN MECHANICS.

This company believe the best way to…

This company believe the best way to aid somebody back to work after a life threatening heart attack and make them work 10 days straight !! Then make the rules up as they go along. Won’t pay you if you don’t sell 12 cars . Asked for help and told managers of appointments dates and they go set up meetings behind your back knowing you won’t be aware or attend and then sack you by email !!!

Can you believe that this kind of management still exists today ?

Best of it that Pendragon bury their heads and still Mr BEN VALE is running their Wolverhampton branch and they know from
All the evidence I provided that they don’t actually care

Shocking stay clear , customers are made fun off while sit at desks by Vale , most are treated so badly and after 15 years in dealers. I was shocked to see nobody could care less about the customers. Awful place to work

In response to the reply from LHD you say my comments caused bad e-reputation and brexit paid another contributory factor to the company, also you would try to understand the difficulties when we tried to use this company, in fact your words state you hope you have offended me. So after being taken for 16k and your comments only seals my opinion of this company so thank you for that remembering the courts found in favour of us, SAYS IT ALL!

A fortunate escape

A fortunate escape, despite multiple emails and telephone calls I never got to speak to anyone other than a female telephonist who only had two phrases, “there is nobody in the office at the moment “ and “I will get someone to call you back “ What a pile of rubbish!
Never had a call back, definitely wouldn’t risk having anything to do with this company

Dear Cass

The reason why nobody had the chance to get back to you is that the domain will now changing ownership, business markets and targets. There is a new team being put in place and we will now be concentrating on B2B services rather than end customer services.

The former team should have addressed the reviews below, and although it isn't directly of our concern, it is vital to provide answers as there is always two sides to a story.

I'm not sure though what to answer? You dont really mention a sales or purchase experience and am not sure to what extent your comment about a lucky escape could be helpful to any person planing to buy a car or a service in the near future.

I can only hope that you managed to find what you are looking for.

Best regards

I’ve had a very lucky escape thanks to Trustpilot and other review websites! I was looking at buying a cheap left hand drive car for use in France and saw the “ideal” care on the LHD car website. Contacted them by telephone and was promised a call back! The call back didn’t happen; the female receptionist made excuse after excuse when I called back three times, 3 days later - no call back! Perfect result for me.

Dear Sonyia

I'm not sure how to address this review, as you have taken a precious amount of your time to go on trustpilot just to mention your joy of having "escaped" of doing business with the previous owners.

I'm not sure how helpful this is though as It cannot relate to any buying experience. The former team made the mistake not to address the public reviews and spent time trying to reassure its customers rather than trading.
This isn't our policy, we think that the truth is relative and that there is always a reason for a deal to go sour.Often its due to over expectating a service or a product.

Anyhow all we can do is to wish you good luck in dealing with local French dealers.

Terrible after-sales service

We bought an Audi from this company, paid over £20,000. We got the car, but no registration papers, so we can't prove we own it and cannot insure it. So now it is off the road. Repeated requests for the registration papers have been ignored. We will pursue this company through the courts, to ensure that they do not continue with this terrible service.

Dear Sir

We are the new owners of the domain website and will be focusing the business on B2B import and export services.

My understanding in your case, is that one of the PA admins in the company had lost the registration document necessary to import your vehicle in the UK. I can see in the exchanges that this was explained to you and that fortunately it was found and that it was sent to you.

I'm sorry the process didn't complete, as the former team had to leave but hope that the car is now registered?
If not please email us on complaint@lhd-cars.com, this email will be setup in a week.

Stay away from this company

We took this company to court and won because a substandard and unsafe car was delivered, after very little response to our communications and winning the case the sheriffs found there was no money and the car they sold to us is still for sale so they have the car and our money where is the justice disgusting!!! If you value your hard earned cash in our case £16,000 although we have NOT given up yet, if you want to save your sanity stay away from this company they should not be allowed to get away with this!!!

In response to LHD cars to me where I was told by the “after sales team” they didn’t mind offending me!! I have called the number on the website to try and talk to a person about this matter, what a surprise no answer.
In response to the comments to me, we called and emailed constantly with no results over a matter of approximately 9 mths maybe a bit longer before deciding to go to court and winning the case, when the vehicle arrived at our house there were numerous defects with it and we still have no car or refund. Companies build their own reputation by their own actions!!

Dear June

We are the new owners of the domain website, a holding that will specialise in paralel imports for businesses.

Its a mistake not to answer negative reviews and although we have not dealt together , I will try to understand what went wrong.

In reviewing your case I read that the car was refused for cosmetic reasons although you state that the car was unsafe? How can this be when it had two MOT's from two different countries?

Also why have you not accepted for the cosmetic repairs to be undertaken, and gave necessary time for it?

We also know that the business was hit by the combination of brexit effects , and the first negative review which made it struggle for new deals as the former team was spending more time in reassuring its future customers than trading. The climate in current business combined with mainly unhappy customers voicing their opinion on here are the daunting reasons why the company was hit and had to give up.

Its an unfortunate symptom of ecommerce and ereputation, and probably in voicing your opinion you only made the situation for the business dramatically worse.
I feel free to express this as I have not dealt with you directly, and hope I have offended you by answering you this way.

I bought a car from this company in …

I bought a car from this company in September 2016. It was a nightmare to get it delivered having paid over £6000 deposit it finally came. Cut a long story short after numerous problems I was told by the owner who actually resides in paris. to return the car at my cost. I was promised a refund. It took court bailiffs 6 months to retrieve half. ( office is just a postal address stock is in france) I am now forced to pursue this company in france for the remaining balance. £11,000.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. If you must buy DO NOT BANK TRANSFER. Use a credit card at least you will be protected and card company will reimburse you.
I have contacted "Watchdog UK" as well as TF1 in France I hope to air my programme soon.
Look for the CCJ recently registered. Please check companies house. A well known high street bank has a charge against the company together with CCJ’s. company is known to change there name. BUYER BEWARE.

Changeing cars with LHD cars was so easy. Joe did everything and more to make it that way. Above and beyond his duty. The car was given to me as new condition as described in the email. Would reccomend them to anyone contemplating a car abroad.

Satisfying experience, although very wary at the start

I identified the car, spec, and colour, whilst on holiday in Australia, and didn't want the car until 2 months later. I contacted Joe via their website and within a short space of time Joe had found the exact car that I wanted, even the right colour. In my case, Joe had plenty of time to sort the details with the dealer. and delivered the car 2 days after I returned home. The car, a Peugeot 308 cc, was in Pristine condition on delivery. I was very hesitant to pay without credit card facilities that Joe had at the time, but we negotiated alternative payments to our mutual satisfaction. I would have no hesitance in recommending Joe's company in the future.

Just what I wanted

LHD Cars provided exactly the car we wanted despite it being tricky to get hold of and Joe was surprisingly patient with me (I know I can be a bit picky).

The car (an Altea XL automatic) was imported from France and stored until the paperwork and plates were ready. Please be aware that this process takes a bit of a while so make sure you allow enough lead time. Its not like buying a car from a UK dealer when you can get the vehicle in a few days or a week at most. You need to be a little patient.

Joe was completely honest and explained the process to us. The car itself was better than I expected. Joe arranged to store the car locally to me until the plates arrived - a real bonus.

We were able to pay the deposit and the final amount by credit card which provides a bit of comfort when you're buying a car through a broker.

LHD cars is not a massive business, and Joe seems to focus on getting things done, rather than just talking about getting things done. This can make him seem a little uncommunicative, however the more he talks to you the less he has time to do stuff. Personally I didn't have a problem with this. I asked him things by email and he did them. I didn’t need any more from him or the business.

I would be happy to recommend his service to anyone.

A few lines to say thank you

A few lines to say thank you for searching, locating and supplying us with a LHD car, a Nissan Navarra.
I will say that I was a little concerned parting with my money for an unseen car.
Any questions I asked were answered.
Joe made verbal commitments with regard to the extras for the car, and these were met, the price given was competitive. When the car arrived it was clean presentable and arrived as agreed on the given date. The mileage was correct as per advertised and the delivery paperwork in order, I am awaiting the transfer document, I am sure this will arrive as the car did. Let me put anyone who has doubts straight, you have nothing to worry about; as soon as your car is ready it will be delivered. Thank you Joe if anyone ever wants to contact me direct, you are welcome to share my details.

Stay clear!

PLEASE NOTE This company continues to send me threatening emails (last one 24/10/18) because of this honest review!

This is quote from LHD-Cars website and nothing could be further from the truth! '"Welcome to LHD Car ltd. You can have peace of mind buying from us as our experienced sales team is here to make your purchase or sale an enjoyable one'"
From the moment we saw the car advertised on eBay as "item location" in Nottingham and discovered that it was actually in Paris we had nothing but hassle and excuses. We have spent over three months telephoning and emailing them to deliver the car and still don't have the Service book or key (the car EVENTUALLY arrived with just the spare key) even though we paid in full on January 13th 2016.
Our advice to anyone thinking of purchasing a car from LHD-Cars is to be very wary of any promises made. See the car first and check the service history and, if possible, drive it away and don't pay an extra £200 for delivery - it won't arrive without a lot of badgering.
Another quote from their website is
"'We want you to be so happy with your experience in purchasing your Left Hand Drive Car that you come back to us time and time again'"
We certainly will NEVER deal with them again and would advise anyone to do the same.

Dear Sir

We are the new owners of this domain and will be providing LHD Cars to businesses, hence why we feel more free to answer your comments than the previous owners.

Although we are not concerned by your review , we think it would be useful to answer it, which the former team should have addressed as well, as there is always two sides to a story. The former team being a small business didnt have the time or experience to deal with online review

I have reviewed your case, and I would like to contribute to it.

I have worked as afters sales executive for 12 years and as a marketing director for 13; I know from experience that there are three types of customers, The customer that will focus on the product and user satisfaction, the customer that will focus on the service provided with regards to his expectations and finally the customer that will unfortunately focus on what went wrong.

It seems necessary in all reviews to try to have an honest approach, but when I read yours, it only seems to emphasise on what went wrong, and also feel that you are being vindicative and bitter.I also notice that your review had two stars and dropped to one which only comforts me in this opinion. I hope I will not offend you by saying this. I do have several questions though:

When you say threatening, wasn't it to do with the fact that you were giving out personal names and details to the audience? Dont you think the director was in his right to ask you to remove the personal details? It is only because we raised the issue that you had to amend the review.

Do you still have the item? wasnt it satisfactory condition?

Why have you not mentioned the fact that the company paid over 800€ to have the turbo fixed prior to delivery?

I do not wish to enter an endless thread , but your review is a good example of modern e-commerce trade: the expectation gap and the unsatisfaction prevailing in today's consumerist society. You are a symptom of why small businesses struggle to survive because they are not fit to counter reviews like yours, because unsatisfied customer are the only voices to spontaneously go on the web. A company that was turning 2m a year for over a decade was doing something right. While big businesses have a different approach; they just dont care.

Your review is the reason why the business had to spend more time reassuring its customers rather than trading. And in all for a £200.00 disagreement. The only goal you were seeking in putting this review, was to damage the company's e-reputation, in doing so, ruining its business model. Fortunately we will be dealing on a b2b profile. Its very difficult to run a small business nowadays, just because bad news is what consumers want to hear first.

Again apologies for my freedom of speech.

Best regards
