Moved into a new place with carpets that desperately needed cleaning. Tried multiple times to hire a rug doctor but found the process to be very un user friendly, so tried Library of Things instead.... See more

I've used Library of Things a few times now to borrow a waffle maker, moisture meter and thermal camera and have found it very straightforward and really useful. I would highly recommend!
Great experience with library of things, communication was great & made easy as you get lots of texts/reminders with all the info. I borrowed a jigsaw to cut down some wood for shelves, & I definitely won’t hesitate to borrow again.
Library of things has lots of convenient community locations. Initial sign up was quick and each rental and return process has been swift, easy and affordable; this is one of the most enjoyable services I've ever used. The fact that it's also a social enterprise not a profit maximizing corporation is a bonus.
I used the hedge trimmer to tidy up the shrubs and small trees in our street gardens. It saved me hours of hot work! A great range of tools, great value and easy to borrow. Also friendly and helpful people on the phone to help if there are any hiccups.
Brilliant idea, very well executed. I rented an SDS drill for a tenner, but commercial rental would have cost ten times that amount. Extremely easy to book, availability was great and it took about three seconds to pick up. Many thanks to the volunteers who maintain and fix all the Things to keep this community resource running so smoothly 🫡
Equioment is handy and readily available, great user interface to know where equipment are in their various locations and all the equipment have used have generally had all their included parts. No complaints
We've borrowed various tools from the LoT over the last couple of years - more neighbourhoods should have this! Especially useful for bulky items that you only use occasionally: you get what you need, when you need it, at an affordable price. What's not to like?!
Rented the pressure washer to clean up the balcony tiles after some construction work on the building. Very easy booking process, helpful instructions, and the tool itself worked well. Great scheme - will definitely use again.
Love the Library of Things. Love the idea and how simple it is to use and the wise range of things available!
And also that there are several sites - and more opening is great! These should be accessible for everyone in London.
Borrowed a carpet cleaner for the weekend.
The whole borrowing and returning process has been super easy, instructions were clear and it was very well priced.
Love the idea of the library of things and will definitely use it again.
Library of Things is a brilliant resource! I can’t fault it. It’s great to use a tool without the need to purchase it. I have found it very useful. User friendly and awesome locker system.
Library of Things is a genius idea! I am thoroughly enjoying my DIY journey of self discovery and it shall continue!!! 😁🙏🏼🛠️
We are lucky enough to have a Library of Things near us , in a public library. we used it to borrow appliances we needed (a circular motor saw to trim a large tree, and a carpet steam cleaner) . It would have costed us a large sum to purchase these appliances, that we would use no more than twice per year. So I'm very grateful to be able to use the LOTs.
I borrowed a Heat / Moisture camera to look around my flat. it was easy to pick -up and drop off. However the bluetooth didn't seem to work with this model and i was disappointed with this
Fabulous initiative and service. Excellent clear and detailed instructions for use of each ‘thing’ too which is helpful.
We absolutely love Library of Things. It saves us money and space. It is so easy to book a tool, pick up and drop off.
The instructions to use the tool is simple and clear.
We borrow the hedge trimmer twice a year.
We recently borrowed the thermal imaging scanner to check for cold spots at home. It would have been a complete waste of money to buy one for a one time use.
I've used Library of things for all sorts and borrowed a jet wash, drill, air fryer and waffle maker. It's so easy and the borrows and returns are convenient. On the occasion something's not been right it was sorted quickly and ina really friendly way. It's saved me a fortune on money, time and space. Living in a small flat on a small income I wouldn't be able to have done the projects to make my home better without LoT. Thank you!
This is the first time I have used Library of Things.
I collected a drill that I used to put my kitchen cabinets together which was perfect for the task in hand.
The process was easy for collection and not only saved me money but also prevented me from purchasing something I would only use once.
I will use Library of Things in the future, they kept me up to date with all the information required on how and when to collect. I'm very pleased to have used this service.
