Utterly useless....

Utterly useless - I signed up to be given meal plans and to be able to follow a diet. Whilst the app and website let me assess which diet would be best, when it recommends the 21 day meal plan diet ...do you think i can figure out where to find it? Not on the app, not on the website. The app only has the bare minimum content and the Premium membership is not worth the time or effort signing up for it regardless of any 50% off time limited deal. I geniuinely feel ripped off at having signed up for a premium membership that offers me no more than I can get from MyFitnessPal or any range of free to use apps out there where I'd get food tracking, calorie counting and recipe suggestions...for free. Why am I paying LifeSum premium membership then? To be told which diet I should go on, and be offered a limited (very limited) list of recipes and no meal plan?? No thank you. Cancelling my membership before I forget and it automatically renews. Which by the way....when you access their website (cannot do it on the app) you are given the option to change payment, but not to cancel the autorenew instruction. If you click cancel subscription the warning message says you will lose access to the app features....which is a rip off of 90's biblical consumer rights breach if ever I saw one... since I have almost a full year of premium paid membership left to run, I expect to have that available to me, not ripped away becuase I refuse to renew my membership. Really not too pleased at losing something I've paid for. I'm going back to doing it myself on MyFitnessPal. Should have known better, my experience explains why there was very little detail about LifeSum features on their website...it's not that they're hiding it until you pay, it's that they haven't got anything more than the free apps offer already. By the way, if I sound annoyed...I really am. Working in IT and being aware of what is out there already free to use/access with a little know how...it really grinds me when I get caught let alone anyone else unsuspecting who is just hoping LifeSum will give you the edge you need to get on top of your diet planning and food shopping. Poor poor show LifeSum team...take a long hard look at your ethics and customer experience...because this customer will make sure I tell others!

Visually good looking app

Visually good looking app. It's features are really bad though, and their "premium" features are not worth it (they constantly spam you to buy their premium version as well". Not worth trying out.

I have the premium subscription

I have the premium subscription. This app is excellent for tracking nutrient distribution and helping guide you in how to tweak your diet. The only thing that I have noticed negatively about this app is that it tracks all sugar as added sugar. I’m attempting to lower my added sugar intake and that’s how I found the flaw. I double check all my labels and the app still tells me I’m taking in too much added sugar.

Worst app.

Worst app., I totally regret downloading it.. I paid for it on 12/2/21 and it’s a joke.. can’t erase anything on it. Really difficult to use.. can’t reach no one to help you.. Don’t waste your money!

Don't believe the hype!

Don't believe the hype!

Misleading, especially when it comes to the kcal intake during the Keto diet which is already very scarce in terms of food diversity. Despite the fact that I pay a thorough attention to the ingredients and quantities I use - which are all approved by the app with a smily face, after the breakfast (378 kcal) I end up with 500 kcal over and the frowny face, which is so incorrect. And this kind of inaccuracies apply also to their recipes. I am disapointed and regret I spent money on such thing.

Judgmental - could lead to eating disorders.

I found this app very useful for tracking calories etc but I find it insensitive - particularly for younger, maybe teenage users - that some foods get a sad or frowny face!

I wanted an app to track my intake, not make a judgement on the fact that I had a couple of biscuits with my cup of tea!!

I think this risks causing obsession with calories and food types which could lead to eating disorders in younger users.

Fortunately I'm old and don't really give a s**t but I think they just need to stick to the useful hints and calorie counting and quit with the self satisfied judgmental b***cks!

There is a lot to be improved.

I like this app. It's pretty handy and has a huge product database that makes calorie tracking easier.

But the synchronisation with Google Fit usually doesn't work properly.

Game changer

This is a superb app. Well designed, extremely functional and intuitive. Free version may suit some, but paid version (£39 yearly) is a bargain.
Links up seamlessly with iPhone and Apple Watch recording all my activities and factoring then into calories burnt.
Scans product labels, provides meal plans, recipes, nutrition info….the list goes on.

This app is a game changer for those who wish to monitor and improve their eating habits, intake and general health!

They stole my money! **Update: and returned it all**

I just discovered that Lifesum charged my Bank account for 45€ on April 17th 2020.

I do not have the app on my Phone oder computer, and although I used it for a few days/weeks last year (I honestly do not remember) - it is already long gone from my devices and from my memory. I searched my browser to find the password, in order to login, but I am not even a member!

I would like to understand how that could happen, that money was simply charged from my account, without any notice.

Update: After writing to complain, the full sum was returned to me.

Since I take care of my health

Since I take care of my health, the app is super useful. The best part is you don’t need to search for any additional information about nutrition, its all in the app (:

Excellent app.

Excellent app.

I am not sure where are these bad reviews are coming from, maybe it's 'cus I haven't tried the paid version. Anyway, love the app, it's very easy to use and helps me stay on track a lot. Thanks, Lifesum!
