Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 149 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the high prices and the condition of the products, frequently reporting broken bikes, flat tires, or issues with the electric assistance. Customers also found the service to be poor, with unhelpful responses to complaints and difficulties in resolving payment disputes. Reviewers often mentioned problems with parking locations and the presence of "no-ride zones" that made the service impractical in many areas. The payment system was a significant source of frustration, with people experiencing unexpected charges, difficulties canceling monthly fees, and issues with refunds. Some people also felt that the bikes were a public nuisance, often left inappropriately parked and causing inconvenience or damage.

Absolute rubbish you pay the money and the bike doesn't start. Then the office will tell you sorry we didn't have a connection. Technology in this country doesn't support the business even though it's a good idea. Will work well in Japan China Vietnam etc

Absolutely horrific company

Initial review 28/01/2025
Absolutely horrific company. My car was hit (from behind!) by a Lime Bike rider, totally shattering my rear window, leaving me unable to drive my car. I have been waiting over a week for any form of response for my claim - despite multiple phonecalls, being promised supervisor call backs on numerous occasions and them not happening, customer support hanging up and me... and still nothing. This company is an absolute shambles and should be ashamed of how they treat (criminal) damage to those not at fault as a result of their riders. No-one should use them and good luck to anyone who needs to claim from them for insurance.

Addendum 24th April 2025
My car is still not fixed and I am getting radio silence from Lime. Congratulations on running an absolutely appalling company with zero customer service and not fixing criminal damage.

Used a bike from Norwood

Used a bike from Norwood, to get to norbury , to my house then park up as i know the bikes no need to park in a space as i done that before with no problems in lambeth, so got to my house and no parking what so ever anywhere near by, i had to pedal back to streatham to find a ebike parking and after used the bus to get back to my house, total cycling time 23mins vharged at £7.96 amd 8mins with bus at £3.50, waisted time and money could and would only use if in that situation again pnly use UBER as it was £2 cheaper and only 12mins to my door. Will never use them again as they dont stipulate that only in certain areas only only when you use their bikes.

Abandoned bike left on a pavement

Abandoned bike left on a pavement for several days. Reported it just now - let's see how long it takes to get it collected. As a way of encouraging folk to gift their personal details to Lime, one is encouraged to set up an account on the Lime App. Why should I? I only want to report an abandoned bike. It should be easier to do this than it is.

24 hour update: Despite an email from Lime and a promise to remove the bike its still there. Not a very good advert for Lime's service.

Lime bike riders are the most selfish…

Lime bike riders are the most selfish inconsiderate rental bike users in London. Their bikes are left blocking pavements and access to a Health Centre on my local street. Mothers with buggies and wheelchair users cannot get by. Reporting this to Lime is useless today 4 hours after calling them and being told that contractors would collect the offending bike, it remains where it is A second call to get fobbed off with this obstruction still there. Other companies have docking stations to minimise any inconvenience to pedestrians Lime have no desire to do the same. Our gloriously inefficient Mayor of London Sadiq Khan recieved a knighthood for screwing up everything he touches or proposes in our once great city. ALL BIKE RENTAL COMPANIES NEED TO HAVE DOCKING STATIONS. Riders need common sense with a high degree of decency to respect other non cycling members of the public.

The app is the worst

The app is the worst. I don’t know why it’s 4.9 on App Store. It doesn’t start rides, very slow, and most importantly it doesn’t end rides even though you are in parking

Dont use this company

Have to give a star..rented two scooters only to get to destination and it wouldn’t allow us to park in the many bike parking options. We had to go all the way back to where we picked them up to be allowed to park, only for os to walk the same way back. A completely waste of money.

Rip off

What a rip off these bikes are. I'd rather walk then use these bikes again. Lime bikes deserve 0 stars but unfortunately that option isn't available.

Don't buy LimePass

Don't buy LimePass, if there is a problem you don't get time credited back. I had a 10 minute ride but there was a problem ending the ride and I got charged 1.5 hours off my 200 minute pass. I reported the problem but message was you won't be charged for the ride, but the 1.5 hours was still erroneously taken off my pass. There is also no way to to contact Lime.

scamming company. Beware. Doesn’t allow you to park in areas that are free but blocks you and directs to one of its blue areas thus taking more time so they earn more money. Scammers.

Lime bikes customer services are…

Lime bikes customer services are apparently run by AI - I’ve spent 6 months asking to have a short street designated as a ‘no parking’ zone for Lime bikes and the circular messages reveal the same script, claiming to ‘escalate to the relevant team’. Consistent silence to the question ‘can you confirm you are not a robot?’. Quite astonishing.
