Do not expect a castle and do not expect a hotel. This place is more a big victorian (=very old), badly maintained building.

Very dark and cold. I'm sure it can be quite charming in the summer though.

The English speaking UK/US couple running it as of late, definitely is not trained hotel people. They're very kind but they do stuff like pouring the last drops from an already opened, nearly empty bottle when you order a glass of wine.

There is no menu, no wine menu, two courses of food and three wines to select from.

All in all a worn out place in a beautiful setting, and rudimentary serving.

Our wedding anniversary trip was cancelled by Liselund Ny Slot the day before our anniversary.

It meant we had to last-minute find new accomodation for our trip at 3x the cost. Liselund had nothing to say about it - just that it was not their fault, and that we should instead celebrate our anniversary the following day.

It seems that, since we had already payed through a 3rd party, Liselund saw it as an opportunity to cancel our booking, in place of someone else, and still holding our pre-payed booking in reserve for later.

Utterly repulsive disregard of guest's situation and the financial results of this practice.

I strongly urge anyone to only book with Liselund unless you have no other choices.
