Big bulky young men expect 50 yr. old women to do all the heavy lifting

When my mother bought 4 20kg bags of cement from this company, she (a 5'4" 50 yr. old woman) had to carry them in herself. Furthermore, the very large (un-moveable) bag of earth we ordered (which was delivered on the back of a lorry) was left in the driveway, leaving her unable to park her car safely.

When I confronted the shop manager about the above, he responded with utter silence (with a few disgusted looks from other customers). Personally, I think a bulky 20 yr. old man who expects 50 yr. old women to carry in cement bags should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. On top of all of this, I was then told that the delivery driver was arrogant and condescending to my mother (he said something along the lines of "I hope you don't expect me to carry that in!").

If I was there when this happened, the delivery would have had a very different outcome.

Moreover, I note that other customers have made complaints about the delivery driver(s?) on Yelp.

On 30/08/2023, when we had to order two sponge floats in person, we were then charged £20(!) in total. On our exit, we were then accosted by an employee who demanded to see our receipt, stating that we were not allowed to leave if we did not order anything (a practice also known as false imprisonment.)
