Worst Locum website I’ve ever used
I contacted them to change my account from pharmacy dispenser to pharmacist as I just became newly qualified and they said it could only take up to 2 weeks due to backlog which honestly has nothing to do with me now I have to wait two weeks before I start working as a pharmacist because they have backlog on the system. What’s even more annoying is that the specific companies that I want to work for only post Locum shifts on their app. Even when I suggested to delete my account and to make another account with a different email, they said that that could take longer than two weeks ??!! which is honestly ridiculous, bare in mind to change your occupation or delete your account there is no option to do it on the website or the app and you have to contact them Which is absolutely crazy to me. This whole situation is info Inconvenient and is very poor from them. 2 weeks is way too long!!

Not getting paid and the agency has no say
I booked for shifts with boots via locate a locum. All my documents are correct and I was able to complete 4 shifts from January until mid February. Not only has my Vendor number not been created (the number you need to get paid). When I chase them up they state that there’s an internal error and to wait (this was nearly 5 weeks ago since I submitted 4 forms). That’s totally fine but at least give a decent time frame on when the payment will be made. When I contacted the agency they stated that the matter does not sit with them. That could be true but as an agency you are indirectly representing them. Boots has been horrible with communication. The fact that I could work and all those documents seem fine but not get paid is really inexcusable. Mind you boots and locate a locum work together so you would think they knew what was going on when contacting them. I’d say they are not reliable if you want to get paid. The fact that this is my first experience with them is not great.

Locum Dispensing shifts in East Kent
Living in East Kent, there are not very many Locum dispensing shifts available. However, when they do come up it’s an easy booking service.

A few bugs like refreshing when I want to look down a long lost of dates booked and it flicks back to the top, or reverting to today's date in the search function after a shift is booked. It would be great to stay in the same search

Quick efficient resolve
I was awaiting for compliance creditials to be reviewed and verified. It was taking quite a long time, I contacted lal team and recieved a quick efficient resolve from Aidan. Aidan was very polite, and extremely helpful, and advised me when verification was complete and status was back to being able to instantly book shifts

Avoid Locate a Locum!
Avoid Locate a Locum.
I was contacted and asked to reupload documents already provided during onboarding, which took place when Locate a Locum was still in its infancy. I was also asked for a written reference questioning my capabilities, despite having booked many, many shifts through them in the past without any such requirement.
I stopped using this app years ago when it went completely to the dark side. Their shift rates are the worst in the market and their recent tone suggests an inflated sense of importance while showing little respect for experienced locums.
There are far better agencies and apps available. I have requested erasure of my data under GDPR and will not be using this service again.

Booking is fine but annoying that’s it’s an hourly rate instead of a daily rate - so you either claim a few pence short or add expenses on to make up your agreed daily rate - and payments not where near as efficient as SEP

Non Human and treat you like dirt
This company consistently provides an infuriating level of service. In the latest example, despite having been registered and actively working shifts through the platform for the last 5 or 6 years, never missed a shift, consistently get good feedback and repeat bookings from pharmacies, Locate a Locum suddenly decide, seemingly out of the blue that the reference contact on my profile is “invalid”. No explanation why, but as a result they put a block on my account meaning I cannot book shifts. The shifts I have booked I am still expected to work so it is questionable as to the degree of concern they have. They have asked me to upload a new reference which I have done and now they say it will take up to 7 days for approval from the compliance team before I can book more shifts. Based on previous experience I feel I am likely to find that it takes considerably longer and I will have to repeatedly chase them to sort it out. You would have thought this matter would only be a concern when initially registering for a first shift, not several years down the line. This example perfectly highlights the attitude and treatment you receive from locate a locum. You are treated like dirt at every interaction and have to constantly jump through hoops to maintain your access to shifts. I would say if you don’t need to use them, don’t use them. I don’t feel any of us that do use them do so through choice, more necessity.
