All five cakes – Chocolate, Vanilla, Red Velvet, Lemon and Blueberry – were fresh, moist and portioned around 46-52g each. Before ordering, I'd read a few reviews suggesting the Red Velvet recipe had changed, so I was a little apprehensive. Thankfully, I found it to be moist and delicious. It did seem a little sweeter than I remembered, although that may be because the taster slice was topped with vanilla buttercream rather than the cream cheese frosting that usually comes on the full sized cake. The only flavour that didn't quite hit the mark for me was the Blueberry. While it was still nice, I personally don't think the blueberry cream cheese and raspberry compote complement each other particularly well. My standout favourites were the Lemon and Vanilla cakes. Both had fantastic flavour and texture, and I'll definitely be looking at ordering one of those for future birthdays. A small detail, but worth mentioning, is the presentation. The slices arrived in a sturdy, beautifully branded cardboard box. It almost seemed a shame to recycle it after a single use!
